Andrea drove the car into town, following closely behind the Beta. He was her source of navigation and she was surprised to find he took a turn into an underground parking area. The spaces all had numbers and letters, and she wondered if this was the apartment building. It shocked her how fancy and expensive the apartment they were giving her was. Charles motioned for her to park in the space labelled, 20B.
He lifted her bags and she pulled along her suitcases to the elevator. Once inside he pressed the button for floor 20, scanning a key card and she noticed how the floors only went to 20.
The apartment was stunning. It was clear she had been over gifted. The walls were lined with glass, overlooking the entire town. The Lounge and kitchen posed an open planed living space, all decorated in rich dark colours. The countertops and cabinets were all black and the lounge area was decorated in a rich navy colour sporting gold light fixtures and frames to match the gold hand
She had escaped from his office instantly and he watched her run back to the training grounds – away from him.He thought about the way her mouth popped open and her eyes bulged at his words. A satisfying smile etched across his face. Her flushed cheeks at the mention of mating, made her even more attractive. Damien enjoyed how fierce and strong his mate was, however there were moments when they spoke when she could do nothing but look at him and it was in those moments, he understood the mate bond. She may loath him and his very existence but she couldn’t deny she wanted him in those moments. It was evident in her breathing, heart beat and even her eyes – shifting to black when her wolf was taking over.Even though Damien witnessed all this, he had never stopped questioning why she was fighting their bond.He understood his reputation would perhaps scare her, however that seemed unlikely as Andrea never once showed a hint of fear in his
"Whatever souls are made of, his and mine are the same" ...Andrea gently folded over the soft spine of the book in her hands, clinging onto those last words. Committing them to memory, unwilling to let them be forgotten from this small disregarded room – if you could consider it that. She had found the small torn book stuffed into a hole in the wall within her second year inside this cell."We will find our mate", Nyx purred."Right, being locked in here will make it easy", she growled at her inner wolf, exasperated by her constant upkeep of optimism, regarding their 'situation'.It has been six years since she was taken during the war that broke out amongst the three largest packs in the region: Stark Pack, Blue blood pack and the Crimson Pack. As an elite warrior of the crimson pack, she had been tasked with taking down the higher-ranking wolves within the enemy Stark and Blue Blood p
The sweet smell of sugar and baking hit Andreas heightened senses causing her to propel herself from the large lush bed she had been happily snuggled inside. An enormous looking tray of food positioned on the white marble flooring in front of the large oak door. The smell had her stomach growling, for a second before she was sitting crossed legged on the floor of the room, stuffing different breakfast foods into her mouth: eggs, pancakes, bacon and an array of fruits to follow. She couldn’t remember the last time she had eaten so well, during her time in the dungeon, it was necessary to not think about food as you were fed enough to keep you alive. A blissful sigh escaped her bulging lips and she headed into the adjacent bathroom, bacon still in hand. She had the shower running in seconds, enjoying the feel of warm water running over her rigid frame.“Do you believe him”, Nyx voiced after she had set in on shampooing her filthy
The drive took over five hours and by the end Andrea was sore from sitting in the same position for so long. The car they had sent was comfortable and expensive. The leather hugged her in a soothing way. Her two drivers never spoke to her until they were an hour away from their location.“Here, it’s your schedule”, the man in the passenger seat shoved a large, thick, white envelope into her lap. She spilled the contents onto the seat beside her and was happy to find a set of keys to her apartment, her school class schedule with a corresponding map of how to get there. She would be teaching three days a week – Monday, Tuesday and Thursday - in a mixture of classes. She found herself surprised at the pack schedule within there, she had mandatory combat lessons on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday mornings. At least this was something she could use as a way to understand their skills and what they were capable of – divide the strong from the weak. She ha
The air around Damien turned thick causing him to hold his breath as his wolf fought for control over his body. The muscles in his arms tightening and flooding with adrenaline, the battle clear in his crystal green eyes. Before he could stop himself – not that he wanted to – he was across the large office in seconds, pressing the small blonde up against the wall with his body. His hand snaking around her throat, forcing her to keep her eyes on him.“Mate”, he growled. His hand tightening its hold on her small neck, his wolf satisfied by the close contact between them. Damien dropped his lips to her neck, slowly trailing his teeth over the exposed flesh between her neck and shoulder. The startled gasp that escaped her lips sent Damien’s wolf over the edge and before he could comprehend his actions, his canines extended and sunk into the soft spot on her shoulder. She bit down on her lip immediately, in an attempt to muf
The wound wasn’t healing, it looked harsh and red against her shoulder. The puncture wounds were leaking blood and puddling on her collar bone.Andrea had found a first aid box on the way back to her room, her wolf genes should be healing the wound. Is it because he’s a true blooded wolf? Nyx voiced.I don’t know, maybe, she thought. The bandage she had secured to the area would bring unnecessary attention however, not as much as an unhealed mark.Training was about to start in thirty minutes, she had enough time for a quick shower and to put on less bloodied clothes. She matched a new gym set from her suitcase, plain black. The straps were thick enough to hid most of the gauge – she hoped no one would ask about it – and the shorts were cool enough for the hot summer days.Andrea watched herself in the mirror, for the first time conscious of how she looked. Her training and capture had left her
The pack house had emptied of the morning training session, which Damien was thankful for. He had escaped to his office instantly, in the hope to get some work done. However, Charles was already waiting for him in his usual spot on the leather sofa.“How’s the rib? Sounded like you broke it”, he spoke matter of fact.“It’s healed.”, he grunted. He wasn’t wrong, Andrea had broken his rib on her first hit.“She can fight”, he whistled, his laughter barely contained.“Yeah, she’s well trained”, he agreed taking a seat behind the desk.Charles was nodding his head, fidgeting with the book he held in his hands. It was obvious he had a lot on his mind.“Even the most elite, have never been able to injure you”, he raised an eyebrow. “And I’ve certainly never seen anyone take a hit from a pure-blooded wolf and stay standing, never mind retaliate”
