I kept tapping my feet nervously as I waited for Lucas to show up in the meeting room.

Ever since we agreed that we were going to be cordial with each other and also give each other a chance to know ourselves outside of what we already knew, Lucas and I haven't exactly spoken since then, and because I didn't want to seem like I wasn't taking our agreement seriously, I decided to come here myself.

I had thought long and hard about it because coming here myself could make me seem like the more desperate one, but seeing how my father was already asking questions about how we were progressing as friends, I had a feeling that if I didn't take the first step, Lucas and I might not be speaking to each other for a very long time.
