DAVID

After dinner, I decided to go for a run.

The moment we had entered the packland, Zeus had finally woken up and demanded to stretch out.

He knew what I had done regarding Ariadne and was totally against it. However, he was content that she came with us and wasn’t going to argue about it.

In the end, we agreed on one thing. We will try as much as possible to win our mate and live with her. For as long as it lasts…

We shifted and ran around the perimeter of our territory, greeting every wolf we encountered and conversing with them. My packmates didn’t miss the chance to congratulate us in person for finding our mate and hoped to meet her soon, officially.

After I checked all the patrols, gates, and outposts - which was typically my Beta’s job, but I dismissed him for tonight as I was gonna run anyway- I returned home.

The truth was, I was eager to come back sooner to talk with Aria, but Zeus had the need to shift and run, and I couldn’t hold on either.

I found her sleeping o

ARIA The week has gone by so fast. I was accustomed to the packhouse and started going out with David. We just walked every evening for a little bit near the packhouse. He showed me some facilities from afar, as I didn’t want to go there yet. We also met some pack members, who welcomed me with huge smiles. I am sure they expected me to be their Luna – as everyone called me – but it was too soon to think about it. Most of our walks took place in the forest behind the packhouse. At a small distance in the forest, was a clearing, and on its edge, there was a tree, that differed from the others. I didn’t know why, but when I reached that tree the first time, I just sat beneath it, placing my back against its huge truck, and it felt so serene. David sat next to me, and we just talked. We were talking about casual things like old friends, and I really liked that we had our conversations flowing, never staying in silence. He had to work in the mornings, but from the afternoon on, we wer

ARIA “So, the Alpha asked me to escort you to the pack facilities, if you are ready to go, of course.” Christianna chimed in, taking me out of my reverie. “Can we go tomorrow? I’m not ready to meet so many new people…” “We can go whenever you want. It’s fine with me. Tomorrow, the Alpha won’t go to the city. So, you can go with him instead.” She trailed. “No, no… I’m sure he stays back for a pack issue, and I don’t want to disturb him while he is doing his job. Can we go tomorrow? Together?” I asked her. “Of course.” She flashed me a smile. “Thanks…” ~~~ The evening had come, and I was walking with David through the little town – his pack, as he called it. I asked him to walk around the pack instead of the forest. It was high time I met new people and finally snatch out of my shell. And I wasn’t wrong. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Children rushed to hug me like I was their heroine or something. I don’t even understand why I was afraid to get out. They weren’t monsters

ARIA The next day, after breakfast, we headed with Luna Patricia, and Ian to the playground. Ian was going up and down the slide while I was contemplating whether I should ask her about rogues or if I would also be disappointed like I was with David yesterday. It was a tough night. Tossing and turning in my bed. Thinking about everything he told me about rogues and their attacks. I was trying to find a solution. But how do you solve a problem when you haven’t faced it yet and witnessed it with your own eyes? When you don’t even know the root that causes it. “Mom…have you killed any rogues?” I asked her straightforwardly while Ian was away. “Yes.” Came her response, and I wasn’t prepared for it. I wasn’t expecting her to have taken lives. She was a mother… She has given life. How? I glanced up and saw her eyeing me with concern. “What happened?” She inquired. “David explained to me about rogues. And… that you kill them, to eliminate them as a threat.” “Well, my dear. They are a

DAVID I was at the packhouse today. I squeezed every meeting I had at the city the previous days and stayed to the pack for some issues regarding our alliances. I wanted to stay more just to get the chance to be with Aria sometimes. That’s why I tried to finish as many responsibilities as possible. I had sent Richard to the warriors’ house to see the paperwork there. My Gamma hasn’t returned yet. He was in training. Occasionally, a pack gathered all Gammas for additional training. The Gammas were responsible for educating our warriors. Theoretically, physically, and strategically, every aspect of their training included. That’s why they attended classes twice or thrice a year, either at a pack or at Alpha’s University, for new techniques or strategies. I was still worried about Aria. Yesterday’s talk about the rogues went totally out of control. I wasn’t expecting her to see me as a murderer. I don’t kill for a hobby. I do it to protect my people. And I was devastated that she wante

ARIA After that eventful morning, I needed to relax. We had the Omega to cook as she always did, and we were eating lunch all together, discussing casual things, and thankfully, no one brought forward the Diana situation. Ian was monopolizing the conversation, talking about his friends and his birthday next week. “So, Ian, how many candles are you going to blow?” “Thlee, Luna.” “Oh, Three? I thought you were already three.” “No, Luna. I was almost thlee when you came. Mommy said it’s ok to say thlee!” he said, glancing at his mother. “And how do you want your cake?” I asked him. “Eemmm, with animals…” And the conversation went on… After lunch, I headed to my room for a nap. David still had his duties to do, but I asked him to come home for dinner. So, I finally decided to cook for him. I used the main kitchen because the apartment’s kitchen wasn’t equipped. By seven thirty, I was ready, and David came with Richard in the kitchen. “Mmm smells yummy. What have you cooked fo

THEO It’s been three weeks. Three terrible weeks since that bastard took my woman away. The moment the supermarket clerk called and told me that my Ariadne had fainted, all rationality I had, abandoned me. I ran to Mrs. Maria, the neighbor, to mind the kids, and I just started running. Never in my life had I run so fast. I wasn’t into sports, so when I reached the supermarket, I was out of breath. All the employees were heading out of it since it was closing time. “Where is she?” I asked the clerk. “The sir must have taken her to the hospital.” “Who?” I asked, frustrated. Why didn’t I have a good feeling? “The one she was talking with when she fainted. When I went out to check on her, they weren’t here, so I suppose he took her to the hospital.” “Thanks.” I blurted out and started running back home. Took the car and went straight to the hospital. I asked at the reception, describing her characteristics, but no admissions had taken place in the last two hours. What should I d

  • The Alpha Who Stole My Life   CHAPTER 26 – Ian's Party

ARIA David was a proper gentleman. He canceled all his meetings the next morning in order to take me to the city for Ian’s party preparations. When I found out there was a small zoo in the city, I didn’t hesitate for a second. I asked the responsible, and hooray! They had a place for such occasions. The list from Luna Patricia was very helpful, too. By midday, I had already ordered the cake, the catering, and the decorations. The only thing missing were the entertainers. So, we were walking with David on the city streets, heading to a playground café. On my way there, we passed a gym that offered yoga classes. I didn’t know why, but I felt the need to go there for practice. After I asked for information about the entertainers taking and their phone numbers, we walked back to the car, and we passed the gym again. I hesitated for a moment. “Hey, you wanna go in?” David asked me, and I nodded. He was watching me. Even though we were having a casual conversation all this time, he was

DAVID Two weeks. It’s been two weeks since we came back from the clinic, and Aria seemed totally fine. We just returned from Ian’s party, and she went to tuck him in. Everyone was overwhelmed by what she had achieved. I saw the way she worked back on that island when I met her, and I knew that she had it in her. That’s why I offered her to organize that party. And perhaps give her the motivation to help my mother with Luna’s duties. Mom was discreet, but I knew she wanted to start traveling in order to search for our werewolf-human bond. We had no new clues. Only werewolf-witch bonds existed, and that was long ago, in the past. We didn’t want to dive into uncharted waters should she accept me. Especially with marking. What would happen if I marked her? Will she be okay? Will she turn or not? And my biggest concern: Will she live after that? By marking someone, you kind of inject your essence into them. Thus, their smell changes and is more like a combination of both mates’ odor

I’ve told you a thousand times.” Tony whines.“Yes, but I don’t believe you,” I utter, and I have solid proofs in my hands.“You should.” He glances once again in his sports bag to see if he has all his gear inside.“I called the police station, you know…” I trail, and his head snaps in my direction, his eyes throwing daggers at me. “Your colleague told me that you left when your shift ended, dressed in plain clothes, not in your uniform.” I quip. Well, to be exact, I asked what he was wearing, pretending we had a date, and I didn’t want to miss our reservation at a restaurant.“How dare you?” He fumes, prowling at me menacingly. He grabs my chin, turning me to look into his eyes. “How dare you, Annelise? Calling at my j

JOHNSIX MONTHS LATERI jump up from bed, super excited. Today is the day! It’s finally her birthday! All the waiting, all these days. Oh God, it’s in the past. I don’t have to wait anymore.I’ll call her. Wish her ‘Happiest Birthday.’ Ask her out. Go pick her up for our date. Smell her. Make sure she is my mate. I hope. Fingers crossed. Bring her back home, and we live happily ever after. That easy! But of course, fate always has different plans and if you want to make God laugh, just tell him your plans. Mama’s wise words.I wish it was that easy.I glance at my phone. Argh, it’s still six o’clock in the morning. Damnit! It’s too early to call her, right? I don’t want to wake her up or freak her out. She’d be like: ‘Ehm, what were you doing? Watching me in your sleep?’Well, head-scratching. Obviously… For every night those past six months. There wasn’t a single night I hadn’t dreamed of her, and I don’t plan to spend another night with my bed empty and her not by my side.I waited.

JOHNI waved off Mama, Annelise, and Ian with a heavy heart. For the freshly mated couple, I was certain that everything would run smoothly and soon my sister would return as the Beta Female of the Pack.Hmmm, maybe I should buy her a saddle for Herc now that I’m thinking about it. Yes, as a welcoming gift. But my Mama? What happened to her? She was crying, and she was upset. And she lied, yeah, like… right on my face. Mama would always evade the truth with diplomacy instead of lying. But now she didn’t even register that she just uttered a lie because the next moment she came up with another. I didn’t pressure her. I didn’t tell her that I knew she was lying. I just let her go. It seemed that things were already awkward; I shouldn’t meddle in and make them worse.I sighed. I knew that soon we would have to see our guests off, but honestly, now this was the last thought that occupied my mind.First and foremost was Gabriella. Always Gabriella. My dreams yesterday were full of her, twir

ARIADNE«Μαμά; Είσαι καλά; » [“Mama? Are you alright?”]“Mama?”“Mama?”Why did he have to do this to me? Why didn’t he let me go without torturing me anymore? Wasn’t it enough that I still loved him despite everything that had happened between us? Do you know how hard it was to love someone you cannot have? And worst of all, for so many years? How hard was I trying to avoid him when I was here? How hard was I trying to keep him out of my mind? Out of sight, out of mind, they say. My ass!All these years of trying in vain. I still loved him. Every particle of my body was reacting to his presence, and even though I could wear the mask of indifference, I could no longer hold it. This song broke all my resolve. Every brick I built, raising walls to keep my love for him out of the picture, it just crumbled them down, and my heart prevailed. But unfortunately, I couldn’t keep him out of my head. No more. No matter how hard I tried. Twenty-two years didn’t help heal my broken heart. It would

DAVIDThe meeting last night went well. I was confident, and I had faith that Ian would make it through it all unharmed. Before eating breakfast, John and I went to the warrior’s dining room in the packhouse. Because a few guests had already begun their breakfast, it was essential for us to make our presence felt like hospitable hosts. When all the pleasantries ended, we went to the other dining room where we used to eat.I sat in my seat, glancing at Ariadne, who was sitting silently, picking her food. John and Annelise were bantering, and Ian was drooling over her.I didn’t want to speak in case I told something and provoked or annoyed Annelise, so I kept silent. I should think of a way to approach her when she finally comes and claims her post as a Beta Female of this pack. Jessica, Ian’s stepmother, never wanted to take on these duties. She was from the Delta ranks as a doctor, and her career always came before the pack. When my Beta Richard found her, he was ecstatic. He was thril

ALPHA AUGUSTINFinally, we were out of The Golden Moon territory and away from the fiasco they all called Alpha Ceremony.Honestly now?My mind couldn’t conjure how my best friend, my Alpha-Mate, decided to hand in the pack to an abomination of nature.I hated the fact that he was mated to a human. I tried to speak sense into him a million times and make him understand that he shouldn’t degrade his bloodline by accepting a mere human for a mate. But he never listened. He didn’t even want to hear my arguments from some point on. He always stopped me before I could even start talking.I was so relieved when she dumped him and left him. Hoping for a second chance mate for him. A strong Alpha female. That was what David was worthy of.I was mated to a special Alpha female, and he? He was mated to a Nothing. A mere little human!I hated Ariadne with all my being. I argued so many times with Marion about her. Something that made me loathe her even more. But her leaving back then was the best

JOHNI was less than a minute out of the office when I bumped into Agatha. Ian was already heading out for his run, so I was alone.“Oh, just the person I needed. Alpha John…” She waved at me, approaching. Alpha Cornelious was standing by the door just outside Dad’s office.“Mrs. Agatha.” I started and was interrupted by a loud cackle. I swear her laughter was aimed to awaken all our guests! My intention was solely to be polite at that moment.“It’s Agatha.” She instructed when she finally managed to compose herself. “So, I needed your help, because I don’t want to freak out the poor people…”“Just tell me why Annelise isn’t coming to her senses?” Ian snapped, interrupting her, walking toward us in long strides. He might have heard her and returned.“Oh! Just kiss her good morning, Beta Ian. Easy peasy! A true love’s kiss has the power to solve almost anything. A mate’s kiss is even better!” She marveled.Ok! She was a witch. Witches and fairytales go hand in hand, no?“Are you sure? I
