Chapter 83 - Evelyn

We sit watching Ariella. All three of us confused. One moment she was talking, her words a little confusing, much like Jackson has often told me, they sound almost like a riddle. Then her eyes glazed, and she went into what could only be described as a trance. Her body sagged against the breakfast bar at which we were all sitting. Aiden instantly went to stand next to her, saying he did not want her falling from her stool.

We sat waiting for a moment. All of us not taking our eyes from her, wondering what was happening and if the frail old woman in front of us would be okay. The way her eyes were glazed, but seemingly focused on something far away was eerie. It gave me goosebumps.

“Is she okay?” I looked to Jackson. Had he witnessed this before? Yet he seemed as panicked as me.
