Chapter 4

Hunter POV

It's been weeks since we found out my mate is carrying my pup. It has not been easy because she is human carrying a werewolf pregnancy. I am so happy my pack learn how to love and respect her. When I found out my mate is human, almost all the pack members were against it. Some of them believe it was going to make the pack look weak but as the goddess will have it, she gained their respect and love. 

I woke up to an empty bed. Madeline side of the bed is cold meaning she woke up long before I did. She hardly sleep now. The fact that she is carrying a supernatural being has not been easy for her. Werewolves pregnancy is not like that of human. We carry our pup for just four months while human carry theirs for nine months. The pack doctor said we will be having a boy. We all have been arguing about what to name our unborn pup.

"We are going to name him Theodore" I said.

"Theodore? Really? We are not naming my child that " Madeline scoffed " I like Sebastian " she added.

"I think Ashton sounds great" my mom butt in.

" Ashton is good but can we please name the baby after me?" My Beta asked

"Name your child Alexander at your own risk " his mate Ava said trying to control her laugh " Ashton is the best option we have here. By the way Alpha, we are not naming my godson Theodore " she added. I smile at the memory.

I get up from the bed to the bathroom reluctantly, I brushed my teeth and take my bath. I walked out of the bathroom to my closet. I decided to go with a blue jogger pants and a black round neck top . Walking down the stairs, I can hear my mate and Ava talking about having a baby shower. I greeted my mate by kissing my mark on her neck and ruffled Ava hair then take my seat. An omega dropped a plate of pancakes and freshly squeeze orange juice in front of me.

"Thanks Jennifer"I say to the omega who in turn bow her head in respect. " So I heard you girls talking about having a baby shower. I am not in support of that" I said.

"Common Alpha it's going to be fun and I promise not to stress Madeline" Ava plead .

"Honey, I am going to be fine plus I will be sitting down through the whole thing " Madeline batted her eyelashes trying to convince me.

"Promise me you are going to tell me whenever you start to feel tired" I raised my brow .

"I promise baby. Thank you" she said standing up from her seat.

" And where are you taking my mate Ava? I asked my female Beta.

" Don't be mad Alpha. Today is the baby shower and we are on our way to check what Victoria did with the decoration" she answered.

"What do you mean the baby shower is today? Wait did you just say my mom knew about all these and you guys did not bother to tell me anything?" I growled angrily. My mate move closer to me trying to calm me down.

"I know this was going to your reaction and that is why I told Victoria and Ava not to say anything about it. I even had to use my Luna voice to command the omegas to be careful as not to make you suspect anything" she said. " I am not a doll you know. I understand this pregnancy is taking toll on me and I'm not as strong as I used to be but that doesn't mean you should stop me from doing some certain things." She further continued while moving away from me.

"I am sorry babe, I did not mean to upset you. I am concerned about your health" I said still in doubt about the baby shower. I walked closer to her and I see that she is trying to control her tears. "I honestly mean no harm. You know I hate seeing you cry" I added. I raised her head and clean her tears with my thumb. I kissed her and things became heated.

Ava cleared her throat "Excuse me guys, I'm still here" she laughed. " Luna, you still have to dress up for the party and we haven't checked what Victoria did with the decoration" she said.

"Alright I am not going to hold you guys any longer. I love you baby" I say pecking her cheek. I faces my female Beta " Ava please take good care of your Luna " I commanded.

"Yes Alpha " she bowed her head in submission and they both walk out of the house.

"This is one of the disadvantages of not living in the pack house. I am still not supporting her going for this party" my wolf growled.

"I know right. But you know how she feels about living in the pack house, and I don't want her to feel like she can not do whatever she likes whenever she wants to. This is her pack too." I answered Xavier.

"Just make sure you keep your mind link opened in case of an emergency " he said

"Whatever you say boss" I answered rolling my eyes. 

I walked down to my office to get some work done. I honestly hate the paperwork , it gets boring but I have no other option. This is my pack and I have to make sure all things are in order. I wish Alexander is here to help with the workload but I sent him to a neighboring pack.

      I've been in my office for two hours when I felt someone trying to mind link me.

"Hunter, you need to come to the pack hospital now" my mom mind link me.

I close the mind link without asking any questions and rushed down to the pack hospital. I saw my mom and Ava holding each other hands like their lives depends on it. My mom raised her heard and burst into tears. " She fell into labor during the party" she said holding my cloth.

"Excuse me Alpha" the doctor started trying to get my attention. " I think you need to see the Luna. She is so weak and I think she needs all the support she could get from you" he explained walking back into the delivery room. I followed the doctor into the room and saw my mate looking so pale.

"I don't think I can do this anymore Hunter"she starts. " I am so tired and I feel so numb. It feels like someone is stabbing the lower part of my body." her body shake as she started crying.

I couldn't stop my tears too as I moved closer to her. I hold her hand and try to calm her. One minute she was crying, the next minute she took her last breath. I couldn't stop myself and started crying. The whole pack howled loudly when they felt the bond they had with their Luna break. I heard my mom and Ava wailing outside of the room. I couldn't stop myself and ran out the hospital building into the forest changing to my wolf.

Today is the day I lost mym ate and my wolf is out to kill.
