CHAPTER 70

Michael’s POV

Today was Zen’s bachelor party. He wasn’t in the building, so I and Hercules decided that it wouldn’t hurt to drink a few rounds without him. I hadn’t seen Nora since the incident. I mean, aside from the time I met her at the door. I didn’t know why I acted so coldly toward her, but that was how I felt. She shattered all my hopes of breaking the curse, and most importantly, she broke my heart.

"Have you seen her?” Hercules asked. I stared at him and took a sip of my drink.

"No,” I said sullenly.

“That’s not good." Hercules commented. "Do you think she’s been spending some time with him?"

"Honestly, I don’t care,” I said, but Hercules looked at me in that kind of way that said,Liar, liar, pants on fire.

"Okay, I care. I sent out some guards to follow her around. All she does is visit that friend of hers,” I said, and Hercules smiled.

“That’s better,” he said.

We watched the people drink, and we didn’t say a word to each other.
