Maria’s POV

I lost the baby.

No, I didn’t fall from the staircase or engage in any of those shenanigans.

It was all Logan’s fault. Him and that little slut. After he and I had made me, I was happy that everything had gone back to normal. That was what I thought, but when he kept giving me excuses not to visit his home, I suspected something, but then I let it go.

Stupid. Yes, that was what I was. I should have known that humans were not trustworthy. But then, I think, I became sentimental toward Logan. That was what rid me of the ability to think like a werewolf.I should have stuck to my plan of getting his money and nothing but his money.

The day I lost my baby started as usual, but I was still in the dark. Logan wasn’t picking up his calls, but he was answering his texts. That was strange. Was he in a meeting? I called again, but he still wasn’t picking.

‘Where are you?”

‘ work. Any problems? How is the baby?’

‘ The baby is fine. I am fine. Why are you not picking up your calls?’
