CHAPTER 111

Nora’s POV

The sun filtered into the room, as if it were peeping in. I began to sit up when I felt hands on my body. It was Michael.

“You never left?” I croaked. He helped me sit up and gave me water from the sippy cup.

"No,” he said.

"Oh, baby,” I said, giving him a weak smile.

As I lay still on the sterile patient bed in the pack doctor’s quarters, the stark whiteness of the room contrasted with the chaos swirling in my mind. Michael sat beside her, his worried gaze never leaving me.

“I am fine,” I smiled.

“Funny you.” He said. I turned to the other side of the bed as he busied himself with sighing some papers when a nurse came in.

I couldn’t understand what had happened. The words echoed in my mind like a haunting refrain: “Because it was Mila who poisoned you.”
