Harlan’s POV
After our talk, the tension was gone. Cyrus, Austin, and I spent the day together in my room. I was getting to know Cyrus and he was getting to know me. There were sometimes when they kissed in front of me, it was awkward but it did not bother me anymore, Luna had been right.
When it was almost seven, I told them about what had happened at the ball. “He wants to meet her in the garden at seven, which is exactly a day since they met. Luna and I are sure that he is going to try and fake the mate bond. With Luna’s acting yesterday, he thinks that she is shallow and easy to manipulate,” I tell them.
“She will pretend that she believes that he is her mate and he will tell Luna not to tell Lady Kira that they are mates. This is because he already has a mate, she saw him dancing with his mate who he claims to be his best friend. My mother and father have spoken to Lady Kira and informe
“Do not worry my sweet princess, I will show you what the world has to offer, do you want that?” Theo asks her. Luna cringes inwardly in disgust at how thick he was laying it. “He really wants me to be wrapped around his finger, it is hard not to laugh,” she tells me. To Theo she says, “I would love that Theo, but I think we will need to be married first.”Luna and I both see the worry flash across his face, he quickly fixes his expression, “Of course, my Lady Luna, we will get married but we need to get to know each other first. We may be mates but I would like to do the whole dating and then engagement and finally the wedding process,” he tells her trying to shift the subject.Luna beams, he smiles, thinking she bought his diversion and that she is happy that he is putting in effort. “It is getting late my sweet princess, I should be heading back home, I will see you again
When the song ended, I escorted her out and explained the plan to her, she understood what I had to do. I made my way back to Luna and whispered in her ear. I saw her shiver and I smirked, I was already affecting her. We danced again and I spent the rest of the night with her. When the ball was over, I walked her back to her brother. He smiled at me and introduced himself. I introduced myself and said my good byes, I was going to see her the next day. After I left the ball, I headed to Hayden’s house to spend the night with her. She was a gem, she understood the nature of creatures like me.She never tried to change me and she wants to help me take over the throne. I got to her house and knocked. She opened the door and let me in. I started kissing her and then I carried her to her bedroom, we spent the night having sex. The next morning, she asked me how the Lady Luna was.I told her she was sh
Luna’s PovAfter I leave Harlan to deal with the situation in his room, I head back to my room to get ready for bed. tonight, was really crazy, Theo was trying so hard to make me fall for him, and thanks to my amazing acting skills, he believed I was. I was trying so hard not to cringe or laugh. Harlan could sense my discomfort and the remarks he kept making were not helping matters. Well, he now has to sleep in the same bed with Cyrus, and Austin. I actually wanted to discuss what happened tonight with them but we took too long.I will tell them tomorrow morning when they wake up. Theo is actually very handsome. If not for the fact that he has a mate, I would not be opposed to having sex with him for the purpose of the mission. He already thinks he was my first kiss. If I mention this to Harlan, he would kill Theo himself. He is okay with me having sex but he does not want me fraternizing with the enemy.I g
I get up from my bed and head to the bathroom to take a shower and get ready for the day. I have lunch with Theo by two in the afternoon. I want to have a plan ready by then. I take a shower and brush my teeth. When I am done, I pick out what to wear and dress up, I do not put on makeup because I will do that when I am getting ready for the date. When I am dressed, I head to the kitchen to get something to eat. By the time I arrive at the kitchen, Austin, Cyrus, and Harlan are already there and Cyrus was making breakfast for them. They were laughing and poking each other. I guess last night went well then. I step into the kitchen and Austin is the first to notice me.“Luna, hey, how was last night? We tried to stay awake but you guys were taking too long, I am so sorry,” he tells me. I smile at him and shake my head, “It is okay Austin, you guys were tired, I understand,” I tell him. He hugs me and turns
I looked at my parents after Cyrus asked to come with us, “It is not up to me Cyrus, it is up to my parents. I do not have any issue with you coming with us,” I tell him. My parents look at him, “Of course, Cyrus. We would like it if you came with us,” my mother says. “Thank you, Lady Jolene,” he says.Cyrus was very happy, when I looked at Austin and Harlan, they were already moving to hug him. “I was actually thinking of asking you to come with us today, I did not want to leave one of my mates behind,” Harlan says. Cyrus beams and kisses him. Harlan freezes, Cyrus notices and pulls away.“I am sorry, I know you wanted to take things slow and I am okay with that, I was just really excited. The fact that you wanted me to come with you makes me really happy,” he rushes out. Harlan laughs, “It is cool. You just took me by surprise and I was shocked that is all, I a
“The shapeshifter they sent was named Cole and he pretended to be Maverick’s Third, Jake. He told me that he heard a rumor that Maverick had been cheating on me with his ex-wife, Austin’s mother. When I checked it out with my adoptive brother and my beta, I saw Maverick leaving her house,” Jolene continues.“When I saw him, I was devastated. My beta suggested we go inside and ask Cynthia who she was with. We found that it was Jake. Then we explained that we had just seen Maverick leaving her house. That was when we realised that Jake was a shapeshifter and we made a plan to catch him. I fed him information about Maveric and I’s relationship,” she continues.“I made him think he was my best friend and closest confidante. He was sympathetic thinking I was with a cheating man. Maverick knew our plan, and was flirting with my third’s sister in front of Jake. We discovered that J
When our food arrived, we ate our food in silence, sometimes Theo would ask me questions and I would give him shallow answers. We got a bottle of wine and I drank two glasses of wine while I let him take the rest. I wanted to be alert later in the day. We skipped out on dessert.Theo flagged the waitress for the bill. When she came over with it, e paid for our meal and he walked me to his car, “Harlan, we are leaving the restaurant, are Austin and Cyrus ready?” I ask him. “Yes Luna, they are at the restaurant ready to follow you guys and then follow Theo,” he replies.Good, everything was going according to plan. I just wanted this to be over so I can finally meet Blake, my mate. We drive home in silence, I am silent because I am planning and I am sure he is quiet because he does not want to make small talk with me and he thinks we have nothing in common. We are almost at the Pack ho
Theo groans, “What has that empty headed spoilt princess done?” he asks. My blood boils when I hear how he describes me. I should not be angry, I should be happy, it means my plan was working. Still, he was going to suffer more for that particular insult, I will guarantee it. He will regret under estimating me.“I came in to check in on her and I saw her collapsed on the floor of her room, she looks like she is in some kind of trance but she is freezing and she is deathly pale. Maybe you can do something for her. You can feed on her pain,” Simon tells Theo. “Wait, what happened to her?” Theo asks as Simon words register in his brain.“She is half dead, that is why I am calling you. You need to come quick before any of her family members find her. They may think you did something to her during lunch,” Simon tells Theo. We hear rustling in the background and the sound of a zipper be
I was happy for this time I had, I used it to have another meeting with my family members, the idea was to find a solution to the vampires problem, I met and urge with those who I could to assist while sending a message to others to help before there is a shortage. The feed back was more than pleasant, we had more and more volunteers and all their blood work came out clean, before long the vampires had their kingdom in check, everyone who was poisoned with the bad batch were in no time cleared, Alaric on the other hand barely called and seemed to be very busy, I knew he was recovering and possibly scheming, but I was happy provided it was all rhetorical and whatever plan he might make possible was all faulted by us. Alaric came back after three days visiting his “mother”He drove into the compound and got out of his vehicle I rushed to him and hugged him tightly “Babeeeee! I have so missed you sooo much” I said as I pecked him He smiled sweetly at me“So how is your mum now?” I a
I woke up to the sound of Alaric voice, he was singing out loud and cheerfully as if he had won the lottery, I knew he believed he was winning in this silent battle he was having with me and my family but I knew he was in for a rude awakening I also perceived the nice aroma of breakfast, what ever he was cooking was definitely going to be very delicious He was cooking for me again I noticedHe really can be romantic but I smiled as I knew it was all a ruse, this was all a front to deceive and manipulate me but I was willing to allow him take advantage of me if this is his method of doing it. Alaric feels he is playing me whist it is the other way around, I want him as distracted as possible so he would not know how time flies. I could already smell from my room that he was cooking and that it was going to be delicious. There was a time I was worried about his food, worried that he might poison me or try to control meI was not really concerned about the control or him taking my
I knew past day I have given all my time to Blake because of how much I missed him, i know before Alaric comes for me I need to have a private meeting with all my family members, I knew this could possibly be our last moment together before the inevitable happens so I need to be sure everyone was on the same page. I made a mental connection to everyone I could, that we should meet in the dining room alone to go over our plan. I remove what I wore to bed and walk to the bathroom. I stand at the sink and brush my teeth. When I am done, I step into the shower and turn on the tap. I wash my hair and when I am done with washing my hair, I start washing my body. I finish with my shower and dry my body with my towel. When I finish, I wrap the towel around my hair so it can dry. I leave the bathroom and walk to the vanity. When I get there, I plug in my hair dryer and start blow drying my hair. Once I am done with drying my hair, I put on hairspray and I style my hair. I brush my hair until
As we stood there, disoriented and shaken, a distant sound caught our attention. The rumble of an approaching vehicle grew louder, filling us with a glimmer of hope.Within moments, headlights illuminated the darkened road, revealing the figure of a passerby. A kind stranger had stumbled upon our wreckage, offering a helping hand in our time of need.As the headlights grew brighter, casting a glow upon the wreckage, a wave of relief washed over us. The stranger approached with cautious steps; his concern evident in his eyes. It was Blake."Blake?" I murmured in disbelief, my voice barely above a whisper. I couldn't believe the twist of fate that had brought him to our side in this moment of desperation. He nodded, a mixture of surprise and concern crossing his face. "Luna, Alaric, what happened? Are you both alright?"Alaric, still recovering from the impact, managed a weak nod. "We were in an accident. The car crashed, and we need help."Blake immediately sprang into action, his quic
So, I had stayed inside, curled up in my blankets, trying desperately to distract myself with a book. However, it proved to be useless, and I ended up spending most of the afternoon watching TV in silence, occasionally sipping an occasional cup of coffee when I was bored. It had started raining halfway through my fourth cup of coffee, and the raindrops were falling onto the windowsill as I sat huddled underneath my covers, my knees pulled up to my chest and my arms wrapped tightly around my legs. A few minutes later, the front door swung open, and a mixture of anticipation and apprehension filled the air. My heart skipped a beat as I sat up, hoping it was him, hoping for a chance to reconnect. But as I heard the loud clattering noise, my hope turned to confusion, and I couldn't help but follow the sound."Dad!"The word escaped my lips before I could stop it, a combination of surprise and uncertainty. There he was, my father, walking further into the house, his presence stirring up a
They sat there for a moment. The only sounds in the room were their quiet breaths. Their footsteps echoing softly throughout the empty restroom. The ticking of the grandfather clock somewhere far away in the distance. They listened to its rhythm until Luna pulled back, resting her head on his shoulder again. Alaric looked down, catching sight of the bracelet she wore around her wrist. A simple silver band with tiny white flowers embroidered onto it. It reminded him of the sunflower bracelet his grandmother had given him when he was younger. He smiled faintly at the memory, running his thumb across the band. "It's funny. Before Mom died, she bought me this bracelet, too," Alaric murmured, his fingers tracing the delicate patterns on the bracelet lightly. "The sunflower represents hope…" he mumbled. Luna lifted her head, her eyebrows knitted together as she looked at him in confusion."Hope?" she questioned. Alaric shook his head slightly, smiling weakly. "Yeah." He paused, trying to f
She'd grown up without parents or a loving family, and though she'd managed to make some friends here in The City, she was far too lonely for her own good. He had never known any other woman who felt the way he did when he first laid eyes on her, and if this was their only chance at happiness together, then Alaric would not pass it by without making it count. He knew she liked men - he'd caught her eyeing up a few of them on occasion - and he hoped that once they got past the awkward stage of 'letting their feelings show', this could be a relationship where he wouldn't have to worry about disappointing her. There were so many things about Luna that made Alaric's chest feel tight and warm inside. Her smile, the sound of her voice, even the way she smelled. It all left him feeling so… so… "And besides," said Luna, smiling back at him with an impish look in her eyes. "Who wants a boyfriend who makes their job a nightmare?"They both chuckled, but neither could resist looking down at th
I couldn't contain my excitement as I reunited with my family, feeling the warmth and love radiating in the air. We gathered in the cozy living room, enveloped in laughter and joy. Embracing my parents tightly, I soaked in the comforting familiarity of their presence. It had been far too long since we were all together.Seated on plush sofas, we began sharing stories, eagerly catching up on the events that had unfolded during our time apart. My father animatedly recounted his latest adventures in his workshop, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm."You should have seen the intricate clock I crafted," he said, a gleam of pride in his voice. "Every cog and gear working in perfect harmony. It's a testament to the beauty of precision."My mother chimed in; her voice filled with admiration. "And your garden, dear. It has flourished under your loving care. The roses have bloomed like never before."As the conversation continued, I listened intently, cherishing every word as it painted a vivid
I woke up the next morning to my alarm screaming at me. It was so loud that I thought my eardrums were going to explode at the very next second, grumbling against my pillow.I contemplated on ignoring it or just going back to sleep after attending to it I finally chose an option that I did not thought of before I checked the time and it was six o’clock. A little bit of relief came to a sigh on my lips. I thought that I had overslept for a moment considering all the time I had procrastinated before coming to check the clock and so I stretched my hand and I turned off the alarm and sat up from bed. It was so early and my stomach was already growling, I couldn't imagine how hungry I was and so I needed to get ready for breakfast…I was craving something easy like cereal because I was already starving a lot.&nb
