It was a very calm and domestic moment that had me relaxing in their presence. The two of them together just made me so flustered and hyper-aware of their presence that I could think of little else. While they started to tidy the kitchen table and chairs and put away the stacking stools, I was hit with a sudden craving for ramen noodles.

Over the next few weeks, pack life settled into a very good rhythm. We had very good and secure patrol rotations, the pack was thriving and everyone seems to be settling in perfectly. The Scouts are training the other warriors that are still here, allowing all of our warrior wolves to be cross-trained. It allowed better security with a smaller number of wolves. In that time, Kane returned to his pack for a few days to oversee things, send his warriors back and ask for any that would like to volunteer to stay in Ravenfield for a while. That night after everyone was asleep in the house, I made myself a cup of tea and went out to the porch swing on the front step with its white and pink unicorn fabric. I wrapped the blanket I brought with me around myself and tucked my feet up under me. I wrapped my hands around the warm mug and brought it close to my face for warmth and comfort. I used to love sitting on the porch swing with my mom and having milk and cookies while we just talked. I still associated this swing with her and it just felt like comfort.I set one foot down and pushed the swing slightly to rock it, sighing as I took a sip of tea and cradled the warmth close to me. I was so lost in my thoughts I didn’t even notice the door opening and Gram coming out until she sat beside me. “You’re here,” I whispered in disbelief as I stared at each one of them wide-eyed. “You’re all here.” I gasped and before I was even aware of it I was down the stairs and launched myself at them, Magnus being the closest one caught me and crushed me to him, his arms around me tight, my legs around his waist and our lips locked in a searing kiss. I pulled away enough to catch my breath and then I was in someone else's arms, Brodryn pulling me into a tight hug and kissing the hollow of my throat as he inhaled my scent, his hands running through my hair before fisting the locks and tugging my head back enough to make me shiver and gasp as he kissed along my jaw. Then I was in Cadmus’s arms and he crushed me to his chest while his hands held me tight enough to leave marks and he kissed each corner of my mouth, my closed eyes and the erratic pulse point at my neck.

As soon as the howls rang out I shifted into my smokey grey wolf and howled once more and soon enough every other wolf started to take off their clothes and shift, joining my pack for a time-honoured tradition of a run through pack lands led by the Alpha. I woke in the morning feeling warm and secure, two sets of arms wrapped snugly around me with Kane’s face in my neck and Magnus’s in my hair. That couldn’t be comfortable. Kane was just in sweats and he sat in the corner of the sectional going over a few papers from a folder, a small frown of concentration on his face. I looked around the space in awe, it was open concept and beautifully set up. There was a nice clean entranceway that opened up into a spacious living room with cream coloured couches, a navy blue coloured recliner chair, pale grey walls with one navy blue accent wall that was decorated with a collage, a large tv over an electric fireplace, and a huge window that overlooked the side of the house and it was a nice view. The kitchen was just to the side of the living room and it was amazing. The large stove, butcher block countertops, the stainless steel appliances and all the cabinetry were a nice navy blue colour with brass handles. It was to die for. I woke in the morning to the feel of light kisses on my neck and warm arms pulling me close to a heated chest. You need to eat since flying took a lot out of you last night. So while you shower I will go and get us some food while Echo stays in here with you.” He explained as he stood up and started to pull on his clothes, sitting on the bed as he put his shoes on and smiled at me as I pulled his hair back and braided it down his back, a happy rumble coming from his chest.

I watched from inside the shower as Brodryn stripped out of his clothes and stalked across the floor towards me, stepping into the shower and closing the curtain behind him, immediately the temperature rising from the heat he naturally generated. I stayed under the water and made sure I was fully wet before I switched positions with him, both of us careful not to touch one another just yet, the mutual restriction just adding to the building tension. I walked down the stairs with the bag slung over my shoulder and my shoes and a leather jacket in my hands. The plan was for us to fly to a rendezvous point, which was a decently rated motel, settle in for the night and once Echo got to us we’d leave in the truck in the morning.
