He purrs at the attention, his neck and head stretched out across my thigh, a little plum-tinted drool dribbling out into my skirt. I smirk at that.
He cracks one eye open at the noise of the lattice, the dark head that appears over the edge of the roof. I look too, my face probably expressionless, probably. I don’t know. I’m too tired to guess.
Auden stops climbing when he loops his arms up and over the edge of the roof, frowning as he peers at us, a bottle of wine clutched in his broad hand. “Did he seriously drink the wine?”
“Yes,” I say, turning my eyes back to Coco, who frequently likes a sip or two from my glass.
