"Who's next?" I asked in my alpha's voice and the men cowered, lowering their heads as they moved back in submission, not a single one uttering a word in counter.

I scoffed. "Well, then I guess that's settled," I patted the big black wolf, and it transformed into a tall handsome man with toned muscles.

"I will leave you to the rest," I said to him.

"Yes, Master," he nodded while I turned around and walked out of the tent.

I ambled further into the woods reaching our hideout and changed into a new dress while I allowed Tova to heal the wounds on my arm. It had all been a cover— a disguise, just to make myself look vulnerable and be at the mercy of those fools.

Moments later, I heard the leaves in the woods rattle behind me more than usual, and the atmosphere became tense. Being alert, I grabbed my dagger skillfully, waiting to unleash it on the unfortunate person.

I noticed the footsteps getting stealthier, I felt the warmth of a body behind me and I stretched my hands immediately, calculated and cunning, I swirled around.

"Woah... Woah," Kaiden alarmed, and my hand froze in place, the tip of my dagger almost pressed to his throat and piercing his skin.

I glared at him. "How many times have I warned you to stop sneaking behind me? I could have hurt you," I frowned, and his face twinged in amusement, a small smile appearing on his lips.

"But you didn't," Kaiden winked as he teased, and I rolled my eyes, withdrawing my hand away.

"What of the men?" I inquired and he huffed. "They've decided to cooperate," he informed, and I returned the dagger to the leather belt strapped around my right thigh.

"Good, we move along with the plan and use that as a leverage to enter the Redmoon pack at dawn," I gritted, hating the fact I would have to dwell among my enemies for a period of time to take out my revenge.

Kaiden moved closer to me, "You should think about this, Master," he reached out to me, grabbing my left arm and pulling me closer to him.

I gasped slightly at the contact of his body with mine, and I looked up at him with a glare, my face twisting into a frown. "What's there to think about?" I furrowed my brows at him.

He sighed, using his other hand to dishevel his jet-black silky hair, his emerald eyes staring warmly into mine, "You know this is dangerous, Master... I don't want you to be hurt and feel more pain," he spoke softly.

I snatched my arm away from his furiously, taking two steps away from him as I gave him a death stare, "You always find a way to bring this up, don't you? Reminding me of the death mission I'm about to place the two of us in, if you can't do this with me, then I'm freeing you to walk away, go on, and live your life peacefully," I said sternly.

I was the Alpha princess of the Raven Claw's pack until the Redmoon pack came into view, declaring war upon us and destroying everything that came up their way. My families were slaughtered mercilessly, and the pack members weren't spared either. Alpha of the Redmoon pack made sure we went into extinction. Fortunately, Kaiden and I were the only ones able to escape from their rage.

Kaiden was my bodyguard, loyal and reliable to a fault, and had taken it upon himself that he would always protect and keep me from harm.

"Master..." he breathed out, then proceeded to take a piece of fabric on the log of wood. He closed the distance between us, his gaze focused on my face.

"I just want you to be safe," he mumbled raising his hand as he attempted to clean my face, the blood of that bastard sticking on my skin, but I slapped his hand away, still mad at him.

Kaiden gave me a smile and I cocked a brow at him, wondering why he was smiling. To my surprise, Kaiden got on his knees before me and gently grabbed my left hand.

He kissed the back of my hand with his soft alluring lips and I tensed up at the velvety contact of his warm tongue against my skin as he licked me tauntingly.

He looked up at me and my heart skipped a beat, his piercing green eyes locked with mine, crinkling at the corner as I was unable to look away. "You know I can't leave you, Master. I will always be by your side, no matter how dangerous it is," he assured, his mouth smiling against the back of my hand.

"Okay," I flustered, feeling my cheeks warm up, and I slipped my hand away from Kaiden's hold, and he rose to his feet.

Kaiden snaked his arm around my waist and I gasped, colliding into him. I raised my face to look at him, my heart beating in a slow rhythm.

"Allow me..." he muttered, his eyes flickering to my green eyes that were almost matching with his just that they were a tad lighter than his. Then slowly he trailed his eyes to my neck and I nodded, giving him permission.

Kaiden leaned closer, his warm breath fanning my face as he cleaned the blood on my skin.

The next day, we finally arrived at the Redmoon pack, after the guards had given Kaiden a pass to enter into the pack kingdom thanks to his disguise as the slave master while I was in chains along with the other slaves.

That was my role to play... being a slave!

The caravan came to a halt at the Beta's mansion and a beautiful young woman dressed in a sky-blue kirtle complementing the deep blue in her eyes was just emerging from the house.

Two women dressed in dull brown clothing trailed behind her and I assumed it must be her—the beta's daughter, Elara.

She fits into the description the men had given to us. Porcelain skin, slender curves, and long flowing black hair that cascaded behind her and reached to her butt.

She was really beautiful indeed.

I and the other slaves were lined up for her to inspect and make her pick.

"Are these the slaves?" she sheered in utter disgust.

She has rotten blood in her, just like her people. She walked up to me giving me a bit of her time, I avoided her gaze, lowering my head, molding myself into the meek slave I was supposed to be even though I hated it.

"None of these specks of dirt excites me, take them away!" she ordered.

What? No!

If I don't get picked to be her slave, then my plan will fail miserably.

We need to act fast... I looked up, my gaze landed on Kaiden who was also staring at me and I shot a glare at him, screaming silently that he should do something.

Kaiden nodded, getting my hint as he came forward and blocked Elara's way, a charming smile plastered on his handsome face.

"Not so fast, Milady."
