Real Confession

“I didn’t trip or sprain my ankle…” I confessed before pursing my lips tightly together.

“Is that so?” he asked casually.

His lack of reaction to my confession of lying to him caught me off guard. The silent tension in the air made me feel uncomfortable and I started hoping that Prince Leonard would just shout at me instead of replying so calmly the way that he did.

The prince’s lack of reaction made me feel like we were having a regular conversation about random things without any key significance. Prince Leonard didn’t seem angry at all, and I hoped that that was how he genuinely felt.

“I’m very sorry for all of this. I made you come here without any good reason; I am so sorry…” I apologized as I felt tears threatening to spill from my eyes.

Not wanting the prince to see my tears, I quickly turned away while blinking rapidly to keep the tears at bay. Silence filled the room again and I began wondering if the prince would leave and that this would be the end of our unfortunate me
