Marcus never imagined he would resort to this.

The day when he told off Alpha Jack and claimed he wanted to protect Emily, he had not lied. He believed he would do anything to protect her, and not just because the pack would get suspicious by her sudden disappearance.

She had something he could only dream of, and he wasn't eager to let her go.

But now, there is no other way to save himself, to save his title. There's no other way to get back what rightfully belongs to him.

And the fact that Mathew is no longer in the pack will make his job easier.

Emily is gifted, almost as much as Mathew is, but she doesn't know it so Marcus is going to take advantage of that before it gets too late.

He tells his wife what he is going to do, but she protests at first. After minutes of trying to make her see why it is important to carry out the plan, she agrees, grudgingly, of course.

Becky, unlike her sister is a pathetically weak woman and that is one of the things Marcus dislikes about her.
