His Side Of The Story

Mathew doesn't hesitate to answer her question, telling the story as he remembers it, and this is the story according to him:

He remembers the first day he heard the words that he wasn't the Alpha's son, that he was being kept in their house out of pity. His parents had abandoned him because even they thought he wasn't good enough to raise and he better behave or he would be tossed right out on the streets where he belonged.

He was six years old and the words had come from the Luna of the pack, who obviously feared Mathew because, to be honest, the boy looked more promising than her own son, more talented and more suitable to be the Alpha's heir.

Everyone felt threatened by him even though there was no need for that; Mathew or Joseph had never shown any real interest in the Alpha position.

But there was no way to convince the Luna and Alpha about that, as they insisted Mathew be shown his place.
