CHAPTER 57

My eyes opened and I looked around. My body felt sore...deliciously sore. I remembered where I was and what happened last night. Feelings of doubt started creeping in and I wondered if I did the right thing. Forgiving what he had done to me and just accepting it like that...somehow, it felt like a wrong decision to make. I sat up in bed and I looked around. The room was empty, the other side of the bed was cold. Must have been a long time since he left the room. Again, my feeling of doubt increased. What if he left because he regretted what happened last night? I tugged at the strands of my hair. If I had seen him as I woke up, I would have been sure of what he thought about last night.

Suddenly feeling annoyed, I stood from the bed. My legs wiggled a bit but I got a grip of myself. I wanted to be out of the room immediately. I found my dress discarded on the floor and I grabbed it, quickly putting it on. I marched to the door, throwing it open. I stood just at the front, staring at
