THE ALPHA KINGS SLAVE

Prologue.

 

My father, Owen James, is the beta of the shadow pack. My stepmother Delores is the pack's warrior, the strongest female who trains the best warriors, but she is the best warrior.  Unfortunately, my dad had an affair with a human, and nine months later, I arrived.  My birth mother dropped me off at my dad's and never looked back, and I was five. Delores wasn't exactly thrilled about raising her mate's mistake; she and my dad already had a daughter together, Kelsy. But at least Delores raised me and wouldn't let my dad send me away.

Kelsy was beautiful with her long blonde hair and bright blue eyes. Kelsy was brilliant in the training fields, though she lacked intelligence in school.  The shadow pack's Alpha is George, Thorton and his Mate, and luna is Terri. The Alpha and Luna have only one child, Gabriel, Thorton, the future Alpha of the shadow pack. 

Gabriel was disgusted when he found out I was his mate, and he said the Moon-Goddess had to make a mistake because an Alpha could never be mated to an Omega. I got the title Omega because I am what they call a half-breed.  My father is a full-blooded werewolf, and my mother was a mere human.  Gabriel rejected me on the spot, and I couldn't force him to want nor love me. So I did the only thing I could do, I accepted his rejection.

I thought the pain from rejection would have been a lot worse, but it wasn't as bad as everyone said it would be.

 The Caputo kingdom. The kingdom in which I will be living, The Alpha King, has set rules that have to be followed the punishment if those rules are disobeyed? Death. No, exceptions.  The rumors spread about how The Alpha King hates women. So he forces all the unmated she-wolves into slavery; if you don't find your mate by seventeen, the Alpha king decides your fate. Rumors also spread about how ruthless, cruel, and unable to love. I  hope he has mercy on me.

 I was near seventeen, and I will be a slave in the palace in precisely three days due to rejection. So naturally, I wasn't thrilled about living as an enslaved person, but getting away from my father and this pack brought me some joy. Although I'd miss my friends Katie and Amanda terribly, I would miss my freedom even though I am a slave here. At least I know. If I wanted to, I could run. But unfortunately, trying to run from the palace is suicidal. The Alpha King will kill you on the spot.

 I kept my wolf secret from everybody. If anyone were to find out about Sage, they would poison me with wolfsbane to get rid of her. Omegas don't have wolves in my pack. As far as everyone was concerned, I was fully human. And I wanted it to stay that way.

Three days later.

"I can't believe you're leaving." Amanda pouts. "What time will they be here?" Katie joins in. I shrug, "Anytime now." I breathed out, Falling back on my bed. Today the Alpha King's men are coming to fetch me. My birthday was yesterday, turning the big seventeen. The Alpha King was nice enough to let me spend my birthday with my family; since my leaving was today, they were nice to me. "I heard the Alpha King is hot!" Amanda informs us. "How can you say that? Look what he does to all the girls, to our friend," Katie exclaims. I rolled my eyes. Here we go again, another argument.  "I never said what he does was good. I was saying I heard he's hot." Amanda shrugs.  "Did you also hear that he will rip your throat out if you talk to him," Katie said. Amanda gasped, "Your kidding?" Katie shook her head, "Nope, he is a ruthless and pathetic little man."

"Brinley, come down. They're here," My stepmother Delores yells from downstairs.  "Coming,"

 I let out a frustrated groan and rose from the bed, "I guess this is it, guys," I said to my two best friends. 

"Do you smell that?". Katie asks, sniffing the air, her eyes flickering between blue and black. Amanda and I looked at each other, then back at Katie, whose eyes were full-blown black. "No," Amanda and I say In unison. But before we knew it, Katie had run downstairs, and Amanda and I were right on her heels. Once we get to the living room, Katie is standing in front of this guy. He Is tall and about 6'1. Katie Is 5'7. The guy has black hair combed to the side, and the sides are shorter than the top. He has green eyes, and he has this aura surrounding him, not as strong as an alpha, which means he Is the beta. 

"MATE. " Katie and the Beta say at the same time. Everyone was staring. In Awe, at them, after some time, he finally breaks eye contact with Katie and adverts his eyes to me.

"Brinley."  I nod, "Yes, sir."

"The Alpha King is waiting for your arrival. Are you ready?" I inhaled a deep breath before I replied, "I am," I nodded, "This is the only bag I have," The beta looked at my small suitcase and arched his brow, "This is it?" I nodded again. I didn't have many things, just three books and maybe five outfits. Being an Omega in your father's and everyone else eyes doesn't get clothes and beautiful things. I only had what they thought was necessary, and they didn't even know about the books.  "Okay, then. Shall we?" The beta said, leading us out the door, Katie clung to the beta's arm, and Amanda followed me outside.

I hugged my friends, but more so Amanda; I knew I never get to see her again. But, although Katie would be living in the palace, I was sure I'd catch a glimpse of her from time to time. "Time to go, "The beta says, and we pull apart. The tears are now freely falling down my face.  The beta pulled Katie to the slide so they could talk privately; whatever he said made Katie smile from ear to ear, and she nodded her head yes.

The other man with the beta opened the SUV's door for me. I embraced Amanda one last time before I climbed in, and the man shut the door behind me. After some minutes, the beta climbed into the SUV, and the driver took off.  "Brinley, my name is Kyle." I smiled at him, "Nice to meet you, Kyle," I said and turned my attention out the window and watched as my pack territory became a blurb In the distance.
