“I know you were just trying to help her, but you need to remember your place, Cass,” Aiden said, his voice firm and icy. "Kiara is not someone you can just hold like that. Don't mess with me, Cass."

Cass gritted his teeth in frustration, anger seeping through his veins like molten lava. He knew he had to keep a lid on his rage, but every word from Aiden was like a needle prick to his self-control. "It's only a matter of time," he muttered under his breath.

After Aiden's rebuke, Cass lowered his head, muttering a swift apology before stepping aside to let Aiden pass.

Aiden, his jaw still set with tension, stormed towards Kiara's room. He knocked gently on the door, his anger slowly ebbing away as he realized Kiara was the one who needed him most at that moment.

Kiara curled up on the bed, heard the soft rap on the door, and sniffled, her tears still flowing freely. "Come in," she whispered, her voice hoarse from crying.
