“I should have known, Kiara. I never thought you would come for me,” Aiden whispered, his voice heavy with guilt as he glanced at the floor. “I'm so sorry.” He uttered.

As he lifted his gaze, he saw that her skin was pale, and her lips were dry and cracked. Despite her appearance, Aiden could still see the beauty and strength that had drawn him to her in the first place.

As Aiden gently cupped Kiara’s bandaged cheek, his gaze softened with regret. Just then, Blake knocked softly on the door.

“Alpha, are you there?” Blake called from the other side.”Come in,” Aiden replied, as he tried to inhale deeply to steady himself. The door creaked open immediately and Blake entered, bowing his head respectfully.

“How is Cass?” Aiden inquired, his eyes fixed on Blake.

“The doctor said the surgery was a success, but Cass is still unconscious,” Blake replied.

Without a word, Aiden rose to his feet and strode out of the room, while Blake followed behind him.
