KIAN
My entire body was wracked with pain, my eyes snapped to Morgana. She was hurt!
‘Mate!’ Thanatos groaned, his panic and worry bleeding into mine.
"Morgana!" I shouted, rushing to her side as fast as I could as she fell face forward to the ground. "Fuck no!"
I wouldn’t let this pain get the better of me, I needed to help her. The Fae around us were dead, yet I knew more could come at any moment. They had already infiltrated our kingdom.
I ripped Morgana’s top from her waist. Fuck, how did they figure out her weak spot so fucking quickly? It wasn’t even big, but it was clear these men knew what they were doing. Skilled and powerful.
‘Fae are fast and some even have the ability to see the near future, hence giving them the upper hand in battles.’ Thanatos said, worry clear in his voice.
‘Yeah.’ I looked into her eyes.
I pulled the dagger out; nightshade… wolfsbane and silver... Something that could hurt us both… There

KIAN Night turned to day, and day turned to night once more. I was only stopping to give Morgana blood and to eat and drink. At times, I’d shift, and at others, I’d walk. Morgana opened her eyes a few times but she was weakening despite how much blood I was giving her. She was able to stay awake for longer but she wasn’t able to do much more than to cling to me weakly. She kept apologising for the burden she had become, what she didn’t damn realise was that she had fought like a fucking queen, protecting my back as she held her own by my side. "We’re almost there." She whispered, her eyes had never looked so washed out as they had this morning, her face ashy and her breathing laboured. "I’m sorry... You must be so exhausted." I could feel her guilt and anguish through the bond, along with her helplessness. "Really sunshine? Not with that again. You fought like a fucking warrior goddess, and I assure you, watching you was a fucking turn on." I
MORGANA The moment I had uttered those words, I felt Kian’s intense hurt and anger before he slammed his walls up and blocked me off. That hurt more than the pain that consumed me. His unspoken barrier that shunned me. I don’t know if it was the state I was in, but his silence was eating up at me. I did my best to try to calm my emotions, but I knew with his walls up he wouldn’t be able to sense my emotions anyway. Kian… I was too exhausted to argue, but I couldn’t bear to see him like this. I loved him, not Orrian. I just wish I could show him that… right now I was far too weakened to even reason with him. One of the men motioned for us to stop and I heard the sound of thundering hooves before a white stallion came galloping towards us, with non-other than Orrian himself upon it. He hadn't changed at all, despite it being a few decades since we had seen each other. His long blond hair still as perfect as ever, his angled jaw and those flawless features so tr
MORGANA My eyes blazed with anger as I spun towards Orrian, ready to unleash my wrath upon him. He raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms. "I only stated the truth, Moonlight." He said, looking into my eyes. "Orrian… He marked me to save my life! And even if that wasn’t the reason, I would have wanted him to!" I said, glaring at the taller man, who was un-phased by my anger. But that was Orrian; calm, collected, cold even… Too many. Yet he had lowered that wall for me, but when he was stuck on a way, he was as stubborn as an old man. "I won’t understand why you would agree to something like that. Regardless of if it was your wish or not." He said, his voice, as always, powerful and deep with that cold edge to it. "Don’t be so stubborn or fixated on your thoughts, Orrian… I love Kian, a level of love that I have never felt before." I said quietly, knowing that was a hard blow. "I love him more than I can ever explain to you. There is no l
MORGANA He turned his head slightly when I called him, but he had his walls up, I couldn’t sense his emotions. I walked towards him, my heart squeezing painfully. I wrapped my arms around his bare waist tightly from behind and rested my head against his back, relishing in the tingles that coursed through me like a storm I welcomed. "You are my world Kian, I don’t see life without you, I don’t want a life without you… I don’t want to live a day without you. I love you more than anything, so don’t ever feel guilty for making me yours. Because even if you didn’t do it to save my life, I would have wanted you to mark me anyway." I said, I could feel his heart racing and my own was no less. He didn’t answer and I felt a sting of hurt. "Kian... We love one another, I'm not meant to feel like you will shut me out at any time... I don’t like this. You are the only one I will ever love, you or no one. You know that." I didn’t bother hiding the pain in my voice. I hate
MORGANA Last night had been magical, something about just letting our emotions out felt… special. We were both strong-minded and strong-willed, for us to just let our fears and thoughts out like that… well, it wasn’t something we did often. I guess unknowingly, Orrian did us a favour. The following morning, a maid brought us food and ran us a bath. We bathed together, and I won’t deny that we made love once more. Once we had eaten, gotten dressed and finally left our suite, we were led to Orrian’s office, or what looked like a huge meeting room. Like the rest of the castle, it was vast, all made of marble and white stone that seemed to shimmer. An oval table with many chairs stood in the middle. Orrian himself was there seated at the head of the table, dressed in all white and his crown set on his head. Today his hair was braided fully, only a few strands were left out framing his face. "Morgana, Alpha Kian, I hope you slept well." He said emotionless
KIAN I had refused to wear the elven style clothes; they were a little too fucking feminine for me. I chose to opt for the most suitable pants and shirt I had packed. I did accept some boots and a belt though. I didn’t need a crown or any extravagant crap to make it clear that I was the Alpha King. I was wearing a black shirt, black pants and the boots that were dark brown. I was a little annoyed that Morgana had been pulled away from me to get ready, or rather, I had been removed from our bedroom. Two hours had passed and I had not seen her still. I was ready and pacing the hall, with none other than the pretty boy as company, who was obviously in all white… Maybe I was being a little fucking petty, but yeah, I was not going to wear the same colour as him. I looked at him, having a question that had been at the front of my mind, and one I may not have the chance to ever ask again… "What is it Alpha Kian? You certainly wish to ask me something." Orria
MORGANA The following day, after breakfast, we set out before the sun was even up in the sky: Having packed more supplies and a good number of antidotes just in case. We were given two horses although Kian wasn’t too keen on it, Orrian said it was better for us to ride them until they tire and then reserve energy. Agreeing it would help a little, we took the horses. I was dressed in pale grey pants, a long-sleeved, fitted top and a hooded cloak on top. Despite them being from the elves, we made sure they just looked simple, with no elven thread-work on them, not wanting to let my brother know where we were coming from. Kian, on the other hand, refused to wear anything of theirs, and I had to admit it was rather amusing when his ego got in the way. We were now at the borders of Elandorr, and although Orrian would see us again in a few weeks, he stubbornly wanted to come to see us off. "Thank you to you and Elandorr for eve
MORGANA It took us two nights to reach the Sanguine Empire and infiltrate the border patrol, making our way through to the palace undetected. I knew all the ins and outs of this place, it had not been hard at all. We were now in my old bedroom. To my surprise, it was well dusted and kept clean, yet there was no one using it and neither had my things been removed… "It’s strange." I whispered, looking around my room, the nostalgic memories of me spending time in this room returning strongly… Oh, how it felt like decades ago… "What is?" Kian said, staring at my wall of weapons. "This wall is impressive." "Thanks, I selected that dagger to kill you with from here." I smirked, my smile fading when I realised it had been placed back on the wall where it belonged. Weird… My brother had wanted me gone, I'm surprised he didn’t burn everything I ever owned, so why was this room kept like this? My heart skipped a beat when I reali
JUST OVER TEN YEARS LATER. KIAN "Xendaya!" Niko called to his younger sister. His hazel eyes were full of irritation as he glared at his sister, at ten he was already a strong big boy. He had patience when it came to his sisters, but Xen tested it often. I turned hearing her mischievous laughter. She was eight now, but she was her mother’s replica. Despite Xendaya having hazel eyes and hair that fell in waves, she had the very same mischievous smile that her mother had, and she was always up to no good. "I didn’t take it!" She denied. Lie. "Daddy, Xenie did!" Morwenna stated softly, blowing her hair out of her face. My little six-year-old petal, with her doe red eyes and soft black curls, she was the only one who was definitely a vampire. Needing blood from birth, whilst the other two seemed more wolf, but until their shift, we wouldn’t know. "Xen, what did you take?" I asked, frowning as I put down my paintbrus
MORGANA The night had been magical. Not once did Kian leave my side; his hands constantly touching me, caressing my waist, brushing his knuckles down my bare arms and back, or resting on my behind. Kissing my shoulder, back, neck and lips. His compliments didn’t fail, his eyes on me and me alone. Even when other single females approached to ‘congratulate’ us, it was clear their eyes were on MY mate. But even then, Kian only bothered with me, and I knew some of these may have been women he had slept with, but it was in the past. He was mine now. The room was decorated in gold and red, with the Clair De Lune roaring wolf on the black and gold banners hanging above. The large chandeliers glittered brightly, whilst candles and flowers decorated the entire hall. Food had been served in a luxurious seven-course meal, and alongside it, there was a bottle of blood that I knew was from Kian the moment I tasted it. A few Va
MORGANA "Is it to your liking, my lady?" The Omega asked as I stared into the mirror at my reflection. Tonight was the night of our official celebration. It had been two months since the war had ended and things had changed for the better. Life was finally returning back to normal. I was dressed in a luxurious satin rich maroon coloured dress. It was strapless with the bodice being sheer with lace work on the breast area. The satin skirt was fitted to the knees before it flared out with a trail. A thick lace embroidered border trimmed the entire trail, and around the hips was a wrapped pleated layer of satin that trailed the ground as an additional layer. My make-up was smoky on the eyes and my skin was glowing with a soft shimmer, covering my entire body with it. My lips were coloured a deep matte maroon. My nails were glittering gold too. I wore a large diamond necklace and earring set. On my wrists, I wore diamond bracelets on both
KIAN The following morning, I left Morgana with my journals. Not something I wanted to do, but… she’s mine and if she wants to know my past, she has the fucking right to. I just didn’t want to be around before she discovered all my fucking secrets, especially my doubts and my doodles. I was trying to remember everything I’d written, when I froze. Wait... I'm sure there were some passages about Sage. Fuck! Before I could even get up from my office chair, there was a knock on the door and Kai stepped inside. "You called for me, Kian?" He asked. I ran my hand down my face, massaging my jaw. The chances she’d read those chapters were minimal… right? There were several journals, I better make this fucking quick. "I did, take a seat." I said, motioning with a jerk of my head towards the seats opposite. "I know things have changed between us with time... Our priorities and decisions shaped our future and it, in turn, made us take different paths… but
MORGANA We had won! A trumpet sounded, along with the howling of wolves ringing in the air. I knew for miles around it would be heard, resounding our victory. The fae seemed to realise what had happened and began to fall back. Kian shifted back, motioning for our men who were chasing the fae to stop. Yet his eyes didn’t leave mine. My heart thumped seeing him, completely fine… alive... We had made it. I knew he was probably angry at the reckless move I had pulled but when Reuban had pulled me from the thick of the battle, I had shouted at him that I needed to go back. That was until I saw Kian’s wolf in the midst of the fire. I rode on his back until I came to where Kian was fighting the final of the four commanders. The idea had come suddenly to me, and seeing the opportunity I had gone for it. "That was fucking crazy." He growled, his eyes flashing, as my stomach fluttered. "But…" I blushed faintly, realising he was completely naked
KIAN Bloodshed. In every direction, people were fighting. Bond after bond was snapped as I lost men, knowing that with it their mates would soon die too. I ripped through a Fae, we were winning but… We needed to defeat the commanders, the four Fae princes, because we were still losing far too many. I was battling one of them right now, growling as I ripped his arm off before my claws sank into his body, tearing him to pieces. The sun was beginning to rise in the sky and morning was close. Pain suddenly shot through my back and my heart pounded. ‘Morgana! Where is she?! She’s hurt!’ I shouted through the link to Reuban, trying to control the fear that filled me. ‘I'm getting to her! Her brother’s joined the battle, Alpha! He killed one of the four commanders! The Ice Prince! ’ I was shocked that he actually did... For Azrael to turn around, that was no small feat. ‘I'm trying to get to her! She’s back up! Her brother is-
AZRAEL I was turning away when I heard Morgana shout, I looked back sharply as I sat upon my horse, staring through Olen’s Arch. I knew Morgana no matter what she wore or if her face was covered. She always held the grace and power of an Araton Royal; the way she held her swords, the way she fought and the way she struck down her enemies. She was one of the finest swordsmen of our kind. She was doubled over, gripping her waist as she fought off a Fae. Jaylen, the dick I was talking to and one of the four fae princes, raised his hand, motioning for them to storm through the arch that no longer stood where it once did. Morgana… "Your majesty, We need to go!" One of my men called out to me. I hesitated, staring back through the arch. I turned away, my heart racing as a memory from long ago flashed in my mind. (FLASHBACK) "Brother! Brother, look what I caught!" I glared down at my little sister. She was almost ten now, and
Morgana Night had fallen, Kian and I were seated with Azrael and Anastasia having dinner, although it was only Kian who had food considering how scarce it was in the kingdom. Kian looked at his plate of rabbit meat with some vegetables, compared to the food in the Clair De Lune kingdom, the three-course meal was very small. He didn’t comment on it and simply ate, I appreciated it. He already knew the situation of our people, and I knew he would be willing to open trade negotiations. We had in fact been discussing everything since Uncle’s death. The truth was out, and luckily, both kings wanted peace despite their clear dislike of one another. "You need to call this off. Tell the Fae you will not ride into battle." I said, very aware of Kian’s strong arm brushing against my bare one and resisting the urge to shiver in pleasure. "They aren’t so easy to simply say no to, not when we have already made an agreement… One that uncle kept advising me was the
KIAN Something was wrong. The moment I felt her storm of emotions through the bond, I left the room; grabbing some poison, antidote, and a long sword from her collection. I followed her scent as my emotions filled me like a storm. Not caring for the guards who started shouting and chasing me. "I need to find Morgana!" I growled, ripping them off me as I let my nose lead me, trying to calm the worry and fear that were gripping me for her safety. ‘Mate is in danger!’ Thanatos thundered and I could feel him trying to come to the front. I rushed through the doors where her scent was strong and several guards were gathered, clearly looking for something. Morgana’s scent was strong here, as well as the overpowering smell of blood. I took in the scene before me, the entire floor was practically covered in blood mixed with shattered glass, and several guards were searching the room. "What the… Who are you?!" One of them asked. I raised the swo
