"Hello," Edward heard someone say and he immediately froze to his spot. "Is anyone in here?" Edward wanted to run with the head into one of the box stalls but he knew that that would risk the head being seen the more."Who is that?" Mr Brown shouted as he ran towards the stable door after motioning for Edward to stand in place."It's Francis," the person replied and Edward could not help but grit his teeth in anger. He knew that guy would be trouble for him right from the moment he saw him. Edward took a deep breadth before he immediately ran into one of the box stalls, careful for the bloodied head not to be revealed. He paused and held his breadth as he silently prayed that the head wasn't seen."I actually want to come ask Sir Edward something, Sir," Edward heard Francis say and he immediately released the air that he had pent up inside of him the whole time. "I have some important questions for him.""I am Mr Albert Brown but you can just call me Brown," Edward heard Mr Brown rep
"You have been mumbling words in your sleep, Edward," Williams said as he stretched his hands towards his brother. "Are you sure you're not down with fever?"Edward stared at his brothers outstretched hand and sighed. He was about grabbing it when he remembered something very important. Harold's head was still laying beside him."I actually would love to stay here alone for a few minutes," Edward said as he slapped his brothers hands away. "I have been feeling unwell lately so maybe I am sick.""And laying on hay is going to make you any better?" Williams mumbled with a small chuckle. "You might not even get better if you do this to yourself." Edward rolled his eyes. Since when did his brother begin to care about his health?"Forget about me for now," he muttered, adjusting himself on the haystack so that the bloodied head would not be seen by his brother. "I actually have a lot of questions to ask you.""I am guessing some of them are concerning what Brown told you about me," William
Emily walked down the stairs and walked straight to the dining table. Her headache had stopped by her feet was beginning to hurt like hell. She removed the shoes that she had on and rubbed them against the cold floor, heaving a loud sigh of relief as the pain began to go down. She saw Hannah walk towards her and she immediately kicked her shoes under the dining table and hid her bare feet under her large dress. "Good morning, Your Grace," Hannah greeted with a small bow as she walked towards Emily. "We already have the chefs cooking up a good meal of eggs and toast but we wanted to ask if you would love to have otherwise."Emily thought about Hannah's question for some seconds before asking, "I would love to have a slice of bacon together with that. Can you guys help with that?""That will not be an issue, Your Grace," Hannah replied with a small bow before turning and heading towards the kitchen. Emily after seeing that she was now gone removed her still aching feet from under her
Emily shivered as she stared at her door. The room had suddenly become cold and she could see her breadth. Everywhere began to spin as Emily suddenly lost feeling of her whole body. She was about screaming for help when the door opened."Your Grace." Emily looked up and saw Hannah walking towards her with a smile on her face and a tray filled with a small jug and a teacup in her hands. "I brought you some tea."Hannah laid the tray on Emily's bed and began pouring her a cup. She was busy chattering about how bad she felt when Emily left the dining table and she wanted to bring tea to her to cheer her up but Emily's attention wasn't with Hannah. She was barely even listening to the words that were pouring out of the housekeeper's mouth."Were you the one calling my name?" Emily blurted out and Hannah immediately stopped talking. She turned to look at her mistress and was surprised to see that she was shaking with sweat pouring down her face. "Are you okay, Your Grace?" she asked after
Emily walked into the door, making sure that the door was left open behind her. She looked around the dust filled place but found no sign of Williams being there. It was as if he had just disappeared into thin air."Williams?" Emily called one more time to make sure that no one was in there and when she received no reply again, she turned and ran out of the room. She closed the door shut behind her and rested her back on it as she panted, holding her chest while she tried catching her breath. The day had just begun but things were already turning out to be too weird for her to handle. She could have sworn that she saw Williams enter that room. Why then was the place empty?Emily summoned courage as she took in a deep breath before opening the door again and walking in. The whole place was a little bit dark as the only light entering the room was the one coming from the corridor. The window was closed and different junks filled the place, blocking even the littlest light that would hav
Emily wasn't sure she was ready to move into her room. She wanted so much to go in and rest till her show was ready but the thought of the voices and the feeling that she was being watched, there was no way she could do it."Your Grace," Emily heard someone call her and she turned to see who it was."Williams?" she mumbled in confusion as she watched her husbands brother walk down the stairs with a small smile OK his face and a box filled with items that Emily could not identify ij his hands."Yes, Your Grace," Williams answered. He raised the small box up and said, "I am actually done with the room now. I'm planning on moving to the new house to inspect all that is being done there."Emily didn't know what to say as she was dumbfounded. There was one question running through her mind and she had no other choice but to just ask it."Did you... where are you coming out from?" she asked, her throat immediately going dry."What do you mean?" Williams asked with a small chuckle. "I'm comi
Edward scattered the hay on the floor but he could not find what he was searching for. The blood stain was still there but Harolde head was gone, disappeared without a single trace."The... the head was right here," Edward said, more to himself thannhis butler. He ransacked the haystack again but his search ended futile. The head was really really gone. "No one came in here, Your Grace?" Mr Brown asked as he joined his master innhis search. Edward shook his head and said, "no, no one came in. The only person who did was Williams and Francis but I was with the head when they both came to see me."Edward stopped his search and knelt down on the floor as his body immediately went weak. How could he have lost the head just like that? How could he have been this careless."We will find it, Your Grace," Mr Brown said. "We just have to keep on searching the place for any trace." Edward knew that his butler was only saying this to give him hope but he knew that they were not going to find
Edward cussed inwardly as he turned to the carriage window and looked at his reflection. What he saw staring at him was the hideous face of a Duke. He turned back and stared at the manor that was now looking like a bead set up on a hill. They were already too far to turn back now."Fuck," Edward cussed as he turned and sat back on his seat. He ran his fingers through his hair, staring at Emily's pale face. There was no way he could turn back when she was in this condition. He would have to risk being seen to save her.The carriage rode on, shaking periodically as its wheel bumped on the little stones that filled the roads. Edward shouted countless times for the servant driving to be careful even though he knew the carriage was still going to shake no matter what. He was just too nervous at the moment to even think straight.Edward looked out the window and saw the trees passing by slowly. He frowned. Why were they slowing down?He tapped on the window and shouted, "I asked for you to
