Leila’s POV

Standing at the threshold of our townhouse, Maureen stood closely behind me. Unlike other days with some bloody activities going on, Father thinks it is best we wait and watch the unfolding of what is going to happen next in Mistwood Creek.

Maureen stood a few steps away from me, trying her best to crochet like humans. But of course, she was terrible at it and a very slow learner at that. “Why not stick to spells and evil and leave that for those who it fits?” I said, clearly unamused by my tease.

“Come on sister, I’ll outgrow all that soon with you as Queen and myself by your side,” She replied.

“Outgrow dark magic and think you will be by my side? Who has lied to you

Maureen?” I laughed dryly.

“Well, I would at least have some privileges, so I would use it to begin a home,” She replied teasingly.

“Okay,” I replied curtly.

She was not going to like the actual outcome of what would happen if she retired.
