Funeral and new beginning

Jasper P.O.V.

“No, no, no! DAD! Noooo.” I wake in the middle of the night because Astra is tossing and turning besides me. She screams in her sleep, and I immediately pull her close to me.

“Shh, angel. I’m right here.” I coo in her ear. I can feel her shiver under my touch, her body is wrecking in silent sobs. Then she wakes with a gasp and she breaks down. Her tears hit my bare chest, but I just keep holding on to her. “Shh. It’s okay, angel. I’m right here. It was a dream.” I coo, running my hands up and down her spine. She shakes her head. Her sobs break my heart, and I know I can’t do anything but be here for her as long as she needs it.

“It. It was not. I-I-I-I dreamt about d-d-dad.” She stammers, her face burying further into me. I kiss her hair.
