I walked for three full days to reach the Peak Mountain. My packed meals were only a piece of bread and a bottle of water left. Yet, I was determined to meet Ruby. She was the only way out I got.

However, during those three days, my mind was full of Cathy, Ruby’s sister. Maybe it was my guilt that reminded me of her. Strange, I didn’t think of Cathy for so long. I sighed. Maybe it was the place or my awakened conscience.

I met Cathy eleven years ago. I was twenty at that time, while Cathy was eighteen. As a new Alpha, I had never met any woman who refused me until I met her. She was a sweet girl, and she liked me too. Knowing my reputation as a playboy, Cathy decided to play hard to get with me. At first, I didn’t realize her trick. So, I chased her and intended to get her. Having a she-wolf who wasn’t interested in me was refreshing. I considered it a challenge. I must win her.

After three months, Cathy might think I had been interested in her. So, she lowered her guard, even givin

Later, I worked as usual. Stacy waited for me when it was the end of our working hours. “It’s okay,” I said. “You can leave now. I’ll finish it soon. Red must be waiting for you already.” “Are you sure?” I nodded and smiled. “Don’t forget to tell me the complete story on Monday. Leave the kissing and touching parts.” Stacy giggled. “Okay! See you on Monday.” Then she waved and left. I was a little jealous of Stacy as she would enjoy a date with Red, unlike me, who would spend time alone on Saturday night. I wasn’t thrilled doing anything in my room later, but I reminded myself it was for the best. Ethan would be home soon, and then we could be together again. After tidying the books, I grabbed my bag and walked outside. Waving at Sam and passing the gate, I was only a few steps away from the library gate when Kenneth blocked my way again. “Helena, I have been waiting for you.” He looked around before stared at me. I took a deep breath. “Kenneth, I’m tired. It’s not a good ti

The stranger approached me, and I hugged myself. I was too terrified he would hurt me. Then he smiled and offered his hand, and I released my breath. “Princess, where is your home? Let me send you home,” he said. I shook my head, but the pain was throbbing in my feet. “Ouch!” The stranger swooped and brought me into his embrace. “You are hurt. I’ll take you home and won’t take a ‘no’ from you.” He brought me to his car, a black Jaguar. When we were inside his vehicle, I asked, “T-thank you for saving me. What is your name?” “I haven’t introduced myself to you. So, forgive my rudeness, princess. Constantine Night at your service.” He reached out to hold my hand, then brought it to his lips and kissed it lightly. “I am Helena Starr.” “Where is your house?” After telling him, he drove without saying anything. I glanced at him. Somehow, Constantine reminded me of Ethan, but he was taller and skinnier than Ethan. However, their eyes and lips were similar. I shook my head. Maybe

“I stumbled when I ran away from him.” I shook my head. “I need to go to the doctor tomorrow to check my feet. But tonight, I will have dinner with Constantine.” From her stare, my mother seemed to disapprove of me going with the man she didn’t know. But Constantine saved me from Kenneth. So, it was the least I could do to appreciate his help. “Are you sure you want to leave tonight? It’ll be better to go when you have recovered,” my mom said. I shook my head. “It’s okay, Mom. Besides, it’s just dinner.” I looked at my mother in the eye, trying to convince her I could endure an hour or maybe two hours of dinner time with Constantine. Constantine smiled at my mom. “No worries, Mrs. Ross. I will send your daughter home as soon as we have finished eating. I promise.” Finally, my mother nodded. “Enjoy your dinner.” Then, we went to the most prestigious restaurant in Moon City. Though my feet weren’t quite well, I managed to stroll. When the host saw Constantine, he immediately nodde

I drank the water and felt slightly better. Then I giggled. “I feel silly. Maybe it’s because I drank the champagne with an empty stomach.” It might be because I was hungry. Constantine didn’t comment and only smiled. He sipped the champagne while staring at me. As I didn’t know what to say, I said nothing. Then the server came with the appetizers: seared scallops with asparagus, and crab soup. “Enjoy, sir, madam.” Then the server left. Constantine ate the scallops fast. On the contrary, I enjoyed the scallops by chewing them slowly. Finally, I shook my head and smiled. “You are smiling. Why?” he asked. “The scallops are amazing! I love them!” “Good!” He nodded. “I am happy that you enjoy them.” After finishing my scallops, I only realized that Constantine was a royalty. When he said it before, I didn’t notice it too much. Maybe because I was hungry and couldn’t concentrate well because of that. It made sense how he brought himself: how he treated people and showed his status.

I shook my head. “No, it’ll be too much.” “I will be happy if you want to accompany me for dinner another time.” At first, I said nothing. But I knew I must refuse. I didn’t want to give a false hope to him. “No, thank you. But it’s a great dinner. I really thank you for tonight.” Then I added, “My boyfriend called me when I was in the ladies’ room. He said he would come here. So, I’ll go home with him.” Constantine’s expression was unreadable. He took his glass and sipped his drink. “I see. Are you sure that I can leave you here?” “Yes. my boyfriend didn’t say anything when I said I had gone with a new acquaintance. But then, he said he would send me home.” “Another time, maybe. Please send my regards to your mother then.” I nodded, too relieved because he didn’t make a fuss about it. “Sure!” Constantine raised his hand and signaled the server to bring the bill. After paying, he stared at me. “Are you sure you don’t want to go home with me?” “Yes, I’ll go home with my boyfrie

“I know, and I’m glad she has you now. I trust you, Ethan,” Freya said. She looked relief. I nodded, grateful Freya trusted me enough. “Thank you.” “How is your business? Helena told me you went to another city to do your business.” “Yes, it’s true. I haven’t finished it yet. Since Helena needed me, I came home. I’ll go again tomorrow. Please take care of her.” “For sure. I’ll take good care of her.” I took a deep breath. “Helena should stay with us; I mean in our community. But I don’t think she is ready. So I won’t take her with me, at least not before the right time.” “I see. Can I visit Helena if she has stayed with you?” Freya asked. “Sure! She is your daughter. Feel free to visit us.” Freya took a deep breath. “Though she is not my flesh and blood, she is my daughter. I love her very much!” “I know. I can see it when I meet you. Helena also told me how you loved her and vice versa.” “I haven’t told about this to Helena, but maybe I should tell you first.” “What is it

Then Helena frowned. She tilted her head to the said. “How come you know his name? I haven’t told you yet.” “When you were asleep, I called Freya so she wouldn’t worry about you,” I said. “Freya then told me his name.” I sensed Helena’s hesitation to tell me about Constantine. Hmm … I wondered why. “I see. I met Constantine because he saved me when Kenneth chased me.” “Kenneth again?” I shook his head. The jerk might need a better lesson. His brain didn’t work well since he kept bothering my mate. “Maybe the guy won’t understand before I break more of his bones.” “No, you don’t need to do it. Constantine has done it.” “Ah, for that, I’m glad he did.” It’s funny, but I appreciated Constantine’s doing that since I wanted to do it myself. Kenneth deserved a whack on his thick head. “But I want you to promise me not to meet with Constantine anymore.” Helena shrugged. “Okay, no problem since it’s just a coincidence. He also said it was only one time I would have dinner with him.” Yet

~ Helena ~ Ethan kissed my forehead. “If you know the reason, you’ll be more stressed. So let’s keep it this way, okay?” I took a deep breath to calm myself because I was too emotional. “For how long? Don’t you want babies?” “Of course, I want to have our children too.” It relieved me for a while. “Okay, then tell me. How long should I wait?” “Until my business in Crescent Island finished.” I nodded. “Okay then.” I could wait for a while. I didn’t know why Ethan set the business in Crescent Island as the marking time, but I needed to trust and accept his decision. “Okay?” “Okay.” Ethan kissed me. “Helena, I care for you more than you realized.” He kissed my forehead, cheeks, nose, and lips again. I said nothing since I wanted to believe it badly. Besides mating, Ethan had done all a good spouse should do. But his unwillingness to share the crucial matter bothered me a lot. Since what is a relationship without trust? Without sharing and helping to ease the burden? “Darling?”

I woke up feeling weird since there was something unusual. I turned my body, but a firm hand wrapped around my stomach. It tickled my waist and then moved downward. I opened my eyes only to see Ethan grin. “Good morning, love. How are your feelings right now?” he asked. “Good morning, love. I feel weird.” “Weird?” He wrinkled his forehead. “Ache?” “A bit, but I don’t know. I feel something else.” He kissed my lips and whispered, “Maybe I can cure you by pouring my seeds again. What do you think?” I giggled and nodded. “Yes, sir. I love it when you poured your seeds. Give me more, please?” “Yes, madam, right away.” Ethan then, without warning, touched my womanhood. “You are already ready, darling.” He then pushed his manhood inside and touched until I moaned. “Don’t stop!” “Yes, ma’am.” He grinned, but then he concentrated on giving me pleasure by pounding hard into me. I tightened my legs around his waist and clenched my womanhood until it squeezed his shaft. He growle

I’ll love to see you around. Take care.” Ethan hugged my mom. “Mom, thank you for coming. Let Red send you home.” “Yes, Son. Thank you.” Later, Red came and nodded at Ethan and me. “Congratulations! Enjoy your wedding night. I’ll try to have everyone leave the villa soon.” Ethan and Red exchanged a knowing look and grin, then Ethan nodded. “Thanks, Red. I know I can always count on you.” “Always!” Then he nodded at my mom. “Mrs. Ross, shall we go now?” Then I hugged Stacy. “Thank you for coming and being my bride’s maid.” “I’m so happy for you.” Then she shook hands with Ethan too, but Ethan

Red drove the car to the villa. It was crowded, so it took time to get there. Then Red opened the door for my mother and me. When I stood to see the villa. It stunned me to see how beautiful the villa was. Colorful roses decorated the path to the door. The rose fragrance filled the air. Later, Stacy opened the door. She wore a white dress too. “Oh, Helena! Look at you! You are gorgeous!” she shouted. I smiled. “So are you! Did you buy it for my wedding?” She nodded. “Yes, because you know me. I can’t stand last-minute shopping. Now, I’m glad I bought it. How about you?” “It’s my mom’s doing.” I glanced at my mother. “She bought it for me as a wedding present. Who would guess it came at the perfect time? So I can wear it tonight.” “Oh, Freya, it’s a lovely dress indeed!” Stacy said. My mother smiled and hugged Stacy. “Thank you for coming tonight.” “I won’t miss Helena’s wedding. I’m her bride’s maid.” Then someone coughed. When we turned around, Ethan stood and then waited f

My mother pulled my hand, and we went to her room. She opened the cupboard and took two beautiful white dresses. “Please try these, sweetie. How can you have such beautiful dresses?” “When I told you about the three months of waiting, I bought them. Since I thought maybe I could give them as a wedding present for you.” “It’s perfect! I can’t think of a better dress than these two.” I wept and laughed. My mom was amazing! How could she do this for me? “Don’t cry! We have no time to prepare you to be a breathtaking bride. So smile!” I giggled and wiped my tears. “Yes, Mom.” Then I tried the first dress that had laces and sparkles. The dress fitted my body well. Later, I showed it to my mom. She nodded. “Try the second one.” When I wore the second dress, I knew it was perfect. The dress was simple with a few ruffles on the short arms

Ethan stood and then held my hand. “Yes, I think the purpose of this meeting is fulfilled. Oh, okay, the explanation of Constantine and Victoria’s death. It was an accident. I had never intended to kill Constantine. No matter what, he was my half-brother.” I nodded and supported Ethan by telling what happened. “About the death of Victoria, she died because she tried to protect Constantine. It’s because of love.” I took a deep breath. “At that time, Constantine attacked Ethan when he had already said, ‘Time-out.’ Then I pushed Ethan and instinctively attacked Constantine with the fog. Victoria ran and shielded Constantine.” I bit my lower lip, recalling the moment Victoria died. “Then when Constantine tried to stab my back. Ethan protected me and stabbed Constantine in the process.” I looked around. “It’s a self-defense.” The Elders didn’t say anything afterward. “Soif you all are worried about revenge or attack from the Fire Shadow Pack or the vampires, please know we are not the o

I kissed Helena’s lips and said, “I am sorry.” “For what?” “I should protect you, but I wasn’t there for you.” She shook her head. “No, don’t blame yourself. I have many things I wanted to tell you.” “Oh?” But then, I remembered Freya. “You need to call your mother now. She must be worried.” “Yes, you are right.” But then, Helena glanced at me. “Oh, my phone is still at the castle.” I nodded. “I’ll ask Red to take it. Where is it?” “The last time the maid brought it to me.” “Okay.” Then I opened the mind link. ‘Red, are you still in the castle?’ ‘Yes, Alpha. Why?’ ‘Can you bring Helena’s phone back here—the villa?’ ‘Sure!’ ‘Thanks, Red.’ ‘Anytime, Alpha.’ Then I stroked Helena’s hair. “Red will bring your phone here. Use my phone to call your mother instead of waiting for Red. He may need a while. Freya was nearly hysterical when she called me.” She nodded. “Yes, please.” I picked up my ph

Meanwhile, Ethan could push Constantine to the corner. Constantine was bleeding all over. His movement was slower and slower. Unfortunately, Ethan was wounded too, but he was in much better condition than Constantine. But then Constantine shape-shifted back into the human form. “Time-out!” He gestured his hand, showing the T-shape. Then he walked to the side, wearing his clothes back. Ethan also changed himself back to human, gathered his clothes, and dressed up again. I ran to Ethan and hugged him. “Ethan! You came for me!” I cried and smiled simultaneously. “Of course, my love. Freya was worried so much about you.” He glanced at Constantine, who sat on the floor. “Let’s go home.” I nodded. Victoria approached Constantine. But then, he ignored her when she wanted to wipe his wound, even turning his body away from her. Victoria’s face was disappointed and gloomy. I could feel how hurt Victoria was right now. “Can we bring Victoria with us? Can she stay at your villa or in our pa

Constantine laughed out loud. “Consequence? My head hurts, and I can’t see clearly.” “Maybe Lord Constantine drugged you again.” I gasped. The water that the maid sent me was the only way how he drugged me. “The maid,” I said, shaking my head. Then I suddenly remembered my power. ‘Fog, heal me.’ In a second, the fog surrounded me, and then, in another second, my head was alright. My eyes finally could see clearly as before. “Do you want a duel until death?” Constantine asked. I shook my head. “He tricked me!” “What happened?” Victoria asked me as she patted my hand

Please, let me go!” I pleaded with him. He shook his head and stroked my hair. “I only have you now. I have sent Victoria away.” “What?! Why?” “Because she is a hindrance for me. If I let her stay here, we can’t spend the time calmly.” He kissed my cheek. “Helena, now you are the only one for me. I promise I will marry you tomorrow. So stop fighting me! It won’t hurt if you let me have you.” I shook my head. “I’m not yours. I’m Ethan’s.” “Really? Then where is he right now?” He chuckled as he touched my hair. “Why are you here instead of on his bed?” Then Constantine touched my neck lightly. “I will treasure you, cherish you
