Selene's POV

I shivered as goosebumps flooded my skin due to the cold. I pulled up closer to the walls, trying to find some warmth disregarding the fact that the dungeon I was currently in had a foul odour. My hand brushed across the blood on the wall and I hurriedly retrieved them. I was cold and in pain.

My eyes hurt from crying so hard. I moved away from the bloody walls but ended up stumbling against the bones I had been desperately trying to avoid. There were skulls and different body parts of the deceased, I shuddered just thinking about what the owner of those body parts must have gone through to end up like that.

I suddenly heard footsteps approaching which was strange. This was my second day in the dungeon but no one has ever come this way. Was it Orion? Did he realize I was innocent of his accusations? A flicker of hope bloomed in my heart as I rushed towards the old rusty bars. I held the bars to support myself repeatedly trying to glance at the person approaching.

My smile disappeared when the person I had been anticipating stopped in front of me.

"Why did you stop smiling? Aren't you glad to see me?" She faked a smile. It was none other than Vivan, Orion's ex-girlfriend.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, glancing above her shoulders to see if she was alone.

She took a step back scrunching up her nose. "This place reeks of garbage and I'm sure you must have gotten used to it. Just like the garbage that you are."

"That doesn't reply to my question." I shot back, ignoring her insults.

"Ohhh, I get it. You're waiting for Orion to come save you?" She continued, "nobody is coming to your aid baby girl."

I shook my head confidently, "He will come. He will soon get to his senses and realize that I wasn't wrong at all..."

She cut me short, poking my head with her long nails, "He won't. He will continue to believe that you're a liar and a cheater that doesn't deserve a place in his life. Your mere existence will irritate him."

"Stop spewing nonsense. You know nothing about me." I retorted angrily.

"I won't stop anything Selene, because I just started. I fabricated every evidence needed to convince Orion that you're a cheap whore." She smirked wickedly, "now you're exactly just where you belong. Rot in hell for all I care."

I stuttered in disbelief, trying to process what I just heard, "what do you mean you fabricated... Does that mean you're..." I gasped in disbelief unable to find my words.

She didn't act remorseful or scared that she has just plotted against the future Luna of her pack, "Can you just drop the act Selene? You knew from the onset that Orion was never yours. He's mine and will always be mine. So get your dirty paws off." She growled.

I stood there speechless and confused, I couldn't remember ever snatching Orion from anyone, the bitch was the one who betrayed him and I only cared and gave him a shoulder to lean on. So why was she venting her hatred on me.

"You- you just committed treason and Orion will execute you for it, just you wait and see."

She let out a strangled laugh, "Are you this dumb? You can't read the handwriting and see that Orion is now my puppet and under my control? Just wait and see how you'll join your baby soon."

I grabbed the iron bars forcefully, "what... what did you just say? Where is my baby? Answer me now! Where is he? This isn't love, this is pure deception and you don't deserve Orion."

She didn't flinch, "Bark all you want. You can't do anything bitch."

My heart bled at the thought of anything happening to my baby, "Vivan please, don't do this to my child. You can take out your anger on me but not my baby... please." I pleaded as hot tears streamed down my cheeks.

I was hurt and devastated, I didn't think Vivan would do such a thing and I was sure Orion wasn't aware of her devious plans and acts. My eyes darted around to see Orion strolling towards us.

"Orion.... don't trust her, She's the one behind it. Trust me, I didn't do anything." I pleaded tearfully.

If looks could kill, his cold glare would have sent me to an early grave, "Shut up! Don't dare say my name. It's Alpha, you have no right to take my name in your filthy mouth." He responded coldly.

He had his cold gaze again making him look unapproachable but that might only be a font to protect himself from being hurt.

"You wouldn't come here if you didn't care for me. The fact that you came here means that underneath all this you still care deeply..."

"I don't care about you. I told you I want nothing more to do with you." He retorted, cutting me off.

"You're hurt thinking you were betrayed by the one you love but I promise you I'm innocent. I didn't do anything wrong." I pleaded, reaching for him.

"Don't be delusional. I didn't come here to listen to your lies, I'm here for something else." He declared.

How can a person's heart change so much? It still felt like yesterday when he proposed his undying love to me.

"Why are you being so cold towards me? We've been together for years, I'm not the liar here. Vivan..."

"Do you want to implicate her with your lies as well?" He asked harshly.

I shook my head. I was cold and weak but I was trying my best to explain things to him.

I moved, trying to hold his feet amidst the iron bars, "Please, our child needs me. Don't punish him, I'm the one at fault here."

"And that's why I would never forgive you Selene. You, you killed an innocent child in the process of your shameful acts. You're a murderer and a cheat!"

Reality dawned on me, "What.... what are you talking about? I- I didn't do anything." I shook the bars with all the agony in my heart, "how can you say I killed my own child?"

He glared at me coldly as he grabbed my chin through the bar opening, "the child didn't survive, Selene. You killed it during child birth. I should kill you right now because you don't deserve to live!"

He pushed me hard to the wall, the incident made me slump on the floor coughing badly, "you're bad luck Selene. You do nothing but bring harm to people around you."

Pain writhed through me as Orion's words echoed in my head, my baby died during labour? Why, why does this have to happen to me, how could I lose everything in one day? My lover and my symbol of love, what was there to live for again.

"Alpha!" I heard someone call out in a loud tone.

"What is it?" He asked coldly, his eyes not leaving mine. It was his beta, he appeared scared like he had seen a ghost trying to catch his breath.

"Are you deaf? Speak out!" Orion's voice thundered.

Just then, an unknown figure walked in and judging by the way Orion's countenance changed, he seemed afraid.

"Alpha Orion, the Alpha King requests your presence now!" He declared with a firm voice.

Orion gave me one last deadly glare as they strolled out.

KING Zeus POV ~BLUE MOON PACK~Anger coursed through my veins as I glanced through the reports in front of me. I adjusted the glasses at the bridge of my nose. For the past two hours I have been sitting here going through the atrocities committed by the Alpha of the Blackpeak pack. I banged my hands on the table angrily and the sound reverberated across the room."Jacob!" I growled. A second barely passed before he rushed in."Alpha King, you called for me." My beta, Jacob answered."What's all these?" I inquired, pointing towards the file."Those are the reports I got on Blackpeak pack for the past few months Alpha." He explained."Blackpeak pack again? Aside from their extortion from the poor by using tax payment as an excuse, Alpha Orion's pack also has the highest rate of poverty. He has refused to pay his employees?" I inquired in disbelief.Jacob nodded. "Yes, Alpha King. I also got reports of some of his pack members deaths. A border fell recently. It was rumored to have been

KING Zeus POV My senses were heightened the moment she was brought before me. The air cracked with an undeniable force, a magnetic pull that went beyond before mere physical attraction. She raised her head even though all prisoners had their head bowed. Her eyes widened and I felt the flicker of emotion in them, it was the mate bond. The connection surged through my veins and blood, confirming her status as my destined partner. It was obvious she felt it too, after a few minutes of running her eyes over me, she hurriedly averted her gaze, bowing to me like every prisoner. Although my insides were in turmoil, I maintained a straight face in front of everyone. Our exchange was only for a brief moment for the people present but to us it felt like an eternity. "Jacob," I called out, gazing at other prisoners who were shaking like leaves. "Yes, my King." His polite reply came. "Retreat everyone back to the dungeon. I will attend to this matter soon." I ordered. He shot me a surpris

Alpha Zeus POV Selene silence made cold shivers run down my spine and never have I ever been so nervous my whole life. Here I was, growing goosebumps and sweating in my armpits as I prayed to the Moon Goddess that Selene made the right choice. Not only did Orion maltreat her, but he chose to believe his ex over his mate and someone who was carrying his child. Therefore he wasn't a good mate and fit to be with him. The way he has even tried to manipulate her into choosing him already said the same thing that the guy was nothing but a manipulator. "Hey, Selene... Nobody is pressuring you. Just choose from your heart. I'm not forcing-""I choose to go with you, my King." She said almost immediately, cutting me off."You do?" I choked out, unsure of what I heard."Yes, my King. As long as you want me to." She added."Of course I do," I said, trying hard to hide my smile."Is the carriage ready?" I asked my men."Yes, Alpha. Everything is ready." They responded.Orion and Vivan stood

I shook her and tried calling her name several times but she remained silent and still.Fear gnawed at my heart, I need to protect my mate at all costs. I can't lose her, not after years of searching for her, and finally found her. "Move this carriage faster!" I barked at my men, urgency evident in my voice, "We need to get the pack healer, now!"Selene's body was limp and cold in my arms; I pressed my ear to her chest to listen to her heartbeat; they were slow and steady. Goodness! She was still breathing. "Selene, jod on a little longer. We'll get you to a healer and you'll be fine. Please..." I whispered, begging silently. We soon got up the pack house and my men rushed to open the carriage door after halting it to a stop. "Go get the Royal healer now!" You can all check back some other time when she's at least better. " My voice echoed in the throne room. They almost erupted into a loud noise, murmuring amidst each other. The eldest among them greeted me politely as he stood up to talk, "Alpha, we understand how the journey must have been, but don't you think it's right for Luna to at least see us? We don't mean to disturb her but we can assure you that we will not be hard with her." He finished speaking and looked at his fellow elders, who all nodded in agreement to what he had said. Selene had woken up from her consciousness. I rushed to Selene and sat beside he as she stirred awake and flustered her eyes open.“Z…Zeus,” She said weakly as I took her hands in mine.I groaned in relief, “You're awake?” I asked, my voice was hoarse. She shot me a weak smile, “Yes, I'm fine now.” she smiled weakly.“Don't worry, you're fine,” I assured her.“How long have I been asleep?” she asked glancing around the room.“Some hours but you can still lay back if you need more sleep,” I said, as I helped her adjust her head on the headboard.“It's since, I feel a bit stronger now.” She said as she tried to hide a blush.“Okay then, if you say so,” I added softly, givi

"Hello..." I called out as I stepped forward; each move I made filled the stillness with the snap of branches underfoot. "Hello," I repeated, feeling utterly lost. Desperation edged my voice, hoping that someone, anyone, would respond and lead me out of this dark unknown. Then, my breath caught in my throat as I saw them: a pair of red eyes fixed on me from deep within the thick jungle. I stepped back, a chill running down my spine, my body froze as fear took over me. Rodrigo’s POVThe soft scratching of my pen against the stack of papers in front of me was beginning to drive me mad. Line after line, I signed my name, my focus slipping with every word I read. Financial summaries, border patrol updates, pack development plans — it was endless. I leaned back in my chair, pressing two fingers to my temple, feeling the weight of boredom press down on me.How did it come to this? This office, with its dark oak walls and giant shelves of old records, felt more like a prison than the command post it was supposed to be. I was Rodrigo, the man who thrived on strategy and war, not some clerk meant to push papers all day. I was built for action, not for sitting here, suffocating under reports. With a groan, I flung my pen onto the table and leaned back, staring at the ceiling. The progress against Zeus was moving at a snail’s pace. The conspiracy had been months in the making, and while small steps had been taken, nothing decisive had yet happened. Zeus still

When I had been recuperating in the hospital and had the vision, she had said that a war, a great war, was coming, and the only person who could save my kind was me.The war she showed me was intense, razing everything in its path. How was I supposed to stop something of that magnitude? I couldn’t even save myself. I’m here, hidden in a safe house so I’d be safe. Guards have been posted around the compound to make sure no threats come close. All these to keep me safe because I wasn’t capable of something as simple as that. Yet, I was supposed to save my kind from the war coming. The goddess must have been mistaken.I stood from the bed and walked to the window, staring out into the night. The moon hung in the night sky. It would be a full moon in a few days. I was tired of being hurled up in this room. My wolf wanted to run, to feel the air rush across her body. She wanted to enjoy the feeling of

Unknown POVI was restless. I had been kept in the dark for too long. Orion and Rodrigo had promised to give me the Blue Moon Pack and I had believed them. It’s been months now and they have failed to come through on their promise.Zeus still moved around like the stuck-up bastard he was, reveling in the power and authority that wasn’t his to begin with. He stole my authority, my crown. I wasn’t going to just sit still and watch him enjoy what wasn’t his, to begin with. When I heard Orion and Rodrigo had come together to conspire against Zeus, I knew that was my chance to get what I wanted. Teaming up with them didn’t sound like a bad idea initially, but right now, I was in doubt. It’s been months already and yet there has been no significant progress. How long was I supposed to still wait for?I needed to know what was happening. It was infuriating, this waiting game. How deep did this whole thing run?I stood at the edge of the balcony overlooking the training grounds, the distant sound of warriors clashing serving as a backdrop to my thoughts. My fingers drummed against the railing as I replayed Jack’s findings in my mind. Gregory, with his smooth charm and years of loyalty. Marcus is steadfast and disciplined. Vivienne is sharp and strategic. They were pillars of the council. How could they plot against me? And why?The question ate at me. What had I done to earn their hate? Or was it not personal at all but rather an attempt to dismantle the foundation of my rule? If so, they were foolish to think they could succeed. My grip tighte

Alpha Rodrigo’s POVSomething about Candice had caught my attention. I was yet to lay a finger on what it was but there was definitely something about her. I wondered what she had done to make Zeus discard her in the manner she did. She was a beautiful and well-built female, good enough to be a Luna by the side of an Alpha, to lead a pack. When I got her request, I had Brent investigate her. I had also asked my spies to find out all they could about what had gone down between her and Zeus. I thought I knew everything I needed to know but nothing prepared me for the beautiful woman that would step into my castle. She was not only beautiful, she had all the curves in the right places, her breasts filling her dress perfectly and her behind . . . I adjusted myself in my pants. I tried reminding myself that this was purely business and nothing more. We had a common enemy and that was why she was here. The more I tried taking her off my mind, the more these thoughts stole their way into my

We walked in silence, Brent paying no heed to me, but from his alertness, I knew he was aware of every move I made, down to the number of breaths I had taken. The silence was beginning to feel awkward and I didn’t know what I was supposed to say to break the ice. This was unfamiliar terrain, and I had to be careful, or else I’d be at risk of being thrown out, just like Zeus had done to me.I was determined not to make any mistakes with this. Zeus had disgraced and embarrassed me. Taking me for granted and putting me aside like I was filth and meant nothing to him. Maybe I didn’t mean anything or hold any form of value to him, but after I was done with what I had in mind for him, he’d wish he hadn’t done what he did.We walked past some of the castle staff who bowed in respect to Brent. From the look on their faces, I could tell that they not only respected him but also

Alpha Rodrigo had accepted my request to meet and hear what I had to say.The car rolled over uneven terrain as the Star Moon Pack's border loomed ahead, the dense forest giving way to sprawling lands dotted with guard posts. My heart thumped wildly in my chest, determination fueling me. Zeus had cast me aside, humiliated me, and all for that woman — Selene. The thought made my nails dig into the leather seat beneath my palm. I hated her with every fiber of my being. Selene had taken everything from me: Zeus’ attention, his warmth, his future. No, that wouldn’t do. I wouldn’t allow her to win.The car slowed as we reached the border checkpoint. Two Star Moon guards flanked us, their wolfish eyes glowing in alertness. One approached, his hand resting on the gun strapped to his side."State your business," he growled. The driver leaned out, presenting the insignia I had acquired when Rodrigo had accepted my request for an audience.
