I looked at Sophia, who was trying to adjust to her new life, and my heart filled with sympathy. Poor girl, trapped between my beastly brothers.

Don't get me wrong---I love them both. I couldn't imagine living in this world without my brothers. Even Konrad, who acted like he hated everything and everyone. I knew better though. I knew deep down, way, way deep down, he cared about us. He just didn't want to admit it.

I knew Matthew would treat Sophia right. There was no question asked. He was already doting on her, asking her if she needed something. Making sure she was safe from Konrad. I knew he wanted to get closer to her as she was his mate, and it was a natural thing to be attracted to her. But she built an invisible wall between them because she couldn't trust him.

It's been a week since Sophia started living with us. Mom tried to make her comfortable and convince her she was safe, but nothing worked. Sophia was still a nervous wreck.
