129. Can you read my mind?

Theodore POV

I was sinking underwater in slow motion. I didn't feel like I was drowning. I was just sinking. Slowly.

The water felt cold yet comforting. I wasn't afraid at all. It felt more and more as if I were dreaming instead of being fully awake which I knew I had to be.

I wasn't asleep. I would have remembered falling asleep. Wouldn't I? Had she choked the air out of me when she'd turned into the snake?

A whispery voice told me, "Open your eyes, Theo."

Shoot! I hadn't even realized my eyes were closed! Maybe I did fall asleep. Maybe this was all a dream. A dream would make more sense than waking up underwater yet not drowning...

I opened my eyes and looked around. I could see everything clearly even though I was underwater. My vision was more clear than it had ever been, in fact, and I took a deep breath to test---yes, I could breathe underwater!

When did I learn how to breathe underwater? How could I breathe underwater? I am a werewolf and last time I checked, werewolves didn
