My Angel

Aaron's POV

I lay my mate carefully on the bed. I tried to stand up so that I could go to the bathroom and make a bath for her. But the moment I moved away from her, she gripped me. She opened her mouth to say something, but no word came out. She shook her head. She looked like she was not able to express whatever she had to say. Her eyes watered, and she hugged me tight, burying her face in my neck. She then began to sob.

My heart clenched and squeezed painfully as I listened to her cry. One look at her, I could tell that she went through so much. I brought my hand to her back as I began to stroke her, but her cry didn't end. She gripped my shirt tight, as if seeking for my protection. I could feel her tears on my neck and shoulder.

"Angel..." I called her gently as I stroked her, but she only cried more. I didn't know how to stop her. It was too much. I felt like shit for allowing this happen to her.

"It was Ken... It was Kenneth all along."

"I know, Angel. I know."
