ROSALINA'S POV

Jeremy shrieked like a little girl when the flower vase on the table next to him shattered.

As I stood there, brandishing the gun at Jeremy, my eyes darted to the door as Mr. Moretti, his father, and Nonno, rushed down the stairs. Their faces contorted with shock and confusion as they took in the surreal scene before them.

I could feel their eyes on me, scanning my body, searching for any hint of what was driving me to such extreme behavior. But at that moment, all I could focus on was the adrenaline coursing through my veins and the overwhelming sense of power I felt holding the weapon.

"Put that gun down, Rosalina," Nonno warned, his voice taking a frightening dive.

I remained unhinged. "You didn't listen to me when I said I didn't want this marriage. So I'm not gonna listen to you either." I said, matching his tone.

His nostrils flared, but he tried to remain calm. "Don't test my patience."

"Don't test mine either." I deadpanned. "I'll kill every man you force me to

LEONARDO'S POV (20 years old)I stepped into the dimly lit warehouse, the air thick with the stink of sweat and blood mixed with the testosterone of dangerous men swarming the place. The sound of flesh pounding flesh bounced off the dreary walls as I walked closer to the ring. I heard the shuffle of feet on concrete and the murmur of voices coming from a large group of men huddled together in the corner. The bright light from the ceiling lamp shone on the ring made in the middle of the room, and I knew this was my chance to prove my worth, especially to that jerk Kyle.I approached the edge of the ring, stretching my limbs and popping my knuckles as I scoped out my opponent, who stood in the opposite corner. Kyle lifted a taunting smirk my way as he spotted me from the corner of his eyes. "Oh look who it is, the rookie who's trynna make name for himself." He snickered. So starting off with a verbal fight huh? "Hope that mouth stays cocky after I knock you out cold." I retorted, flashi

LEONARDO'S POV (20 years old) Loud and pulsating music filled Tristan's penthouse, while the dim lighting and hazy cigarette smoke obscured my vision in the densely packed room full of flashy, animated guests sipping on drinks and chatting, all making it difficult to spot the birthday boy. However, my attention was caught by HER. The moment was too good to be true. There she was, with her captivating hazel eyes staring back at me. Instead of her long, flowing brunette locks, she now sported a chic bob cut with pink highlights that exposed her slender neck, begging for me to take a nibble. Her flashy hot-pink sequin dress illuminated the room, outshining even the disco ball. Her lean, toned legs were crossed at the knee, exposing the curve of her calf and the defined muscles beneath. The smooth, flawless olive skin appeared to glow under the soft light, accentuating the delicate shape from her thigh down to her slender ankle. Propped up on the bar stool, her high-heeled feet looked t

ROSALINA'S POV(20 years old)Out of all the people I could have bumped into at this stupid party, it had to be Leonardo Salvadori."Long time no see, Russo." Leo drawled as he took a seat beside me, throwing me one of his flirtatious winks.I gave him a side-eye of disinterest. "Do I know you?"He found my dry question amusing and let out a chuckle."Sorry. I forgot to introduce myself." He reached out his hand for a handshake. "I'm Leonardo."I tilted my head and lifted a brow, pretending like I didn't know the fuck was talking about. "Leonardo who? DiCaprio?""And here I thought you didn't know who I was." He clicked his tongue and then scanned my short hair. "New hairdo?"I shrugged a shoulder. "No, I just woke up like this today morning."Leo nodded, matching my sarcasm like a pro. "Oh yeah, because everyone wakes up with perfectly styled hair and flawless makeup.""Leave me alone," I grumbled, as I turned away from him to get back into the conversation I was having with Paul, the

LEONARDO'S POVAs soon as our lips intertwined, her flavor burst into my mouth like a fiery elixir. It was as if I had stumbled upon a treasure trove of intoxicating nectar that I couldn't get enough of. Our tongues engaged in a fierce waltz, battling for dominance with each other.I turned deaf to the world around me as she consumed me like the wildfire she was. If not for all these people, I'd have ripped our clothes off and claimed her right here on this dance floor.Soft rings of fire around her pupils caught my attention as we broke away from the kiss, leaving a glistening silver string of saliva on the tip of our tongues. Nothing could compare to the beauty of her eyes at that moment. I felt like I had finally tamed this beast. In an instant, an intense jolt of agony shot through my nostrils, accompanied by the sickening sound of bones cracking and the metallic tang of blood. The impact threw me off balance, causing me to hit the ground hard.My eyes snapped up to the man and it

  • The Alliance    You like my kiss?

ROSALINA(Presently 23 years old)After applying the last coat of mascara over my long brown lashes, I checked myself in the mirror to make sure everything was perfect. I had an ick for imperfections when it came to my appearance. I slightly adjusted my black miniskirt to reveal my midsection, which was accentuated by a pink, off-shoulder crop top. I ran a brush through my hair again, as I noticed it was slightly disheveled.I grabbed my bag and headed toward the front door. However, I paused midway when I saw my grumpy old man reading the newspaper on the living room sofa.Shit.I tried to be as silent as a cat walking on a carpet, but he spotted me from his gold-rimmed glasses that occasionally slid down from his long nose. His scowl was sharp enough to cut through steel and made it clear that he didn't appreciate my outfit.Ignoring his disapproving scowl, I made my way to the front door, but his firm command stopped me. "Stop right there, young lady!"I turned around with a smile.

  • The Alliance    Bad luck

ROSALINA'S POVJust as the professor was about to finish his lecture, the door burst open, and in walked Leonardo Salvadori, his backpack slung over his shoulder. "Sorry, I had trouble finding the classroom." He said, looking like he had just run a marathon in a sauna."That's okay, Leonardo. Glad you could make it. You can catch up on what you missed after class." Professor said with a tight smile.Leonardo's shirt could have been mistaken for a botanical garden on steroids. The vibrant colors and dizzying array of flowers made it seem like he had just plucked it from the most colorful corner of the Amazon rainforest and a white wife beater underneath paired with skinny ripped jeans that hugged his legs like a boa constrictor. His white sneakers completed the look, giving him the appearance of a peacock strutting his stuff for attention. It was the rule of thumb in the animal kingdom. If it's colorful, you stay the fuck away from them.I pretended to be studying my notebook like it w

ROSALINA'S POVI stood in front of the mirror, watching my reflection as I stretched my limbs in preparation for today's practice. Madam Marisha had high expectations of me, especially since I'd been chosen to perform the lead role in our next production of Giselle. Madam Marisha walked into the room, her piercing blue eyes scanning my every move."Rosalina, it's time to begin. Let's start with pliés." I followed her lead, bending and stretching my legs in time with the music. The room felt alive with the sound of our movements, and I felt exhilarated by the challenge. As we moved on to more complex steps, I felt myself growing more and more confident in my abilities. Madam Marisha was tough, but she was also an incredible teacher. Under her guidance, I knew I could achieve anything. Near the end of the session, we practiced a particularly difficult sequence of leaps and twirls. As I landed the final move flawlessly, Madam Marisha let out a small gasp."No, no, no..." She waved her pa

ROSALINA'S POVThe relentless rehearsals had left my body sore and fatigued, causing me to lean on Sebas for support when he retrieved me from the dance studio at 8 PM. The only thing I craved was a well-deserved sleep or even a nice dinner.I chucked my pink satchel onto the couch without even giving my Nonno a nod, as he sat there in his classic undershirt with a marinara splotch watching the news on the TV. Let's just say he didn't exactly exude mob boss vibes in this outfit. Despite being a full-blooded Italian, he didn't bust out the Italiano like other old-timers in the neighborhood. My Nonno only busted out his Italian when he was having a tête-à-tête with Nonna. To be frank, my Italian sounded like a malfunctioning toaster. But, I was a virtuoso at firing off Italian curses thanks to Nonno's prolific use of them. He even let loose on my uncles like a sailor on shore leave.Ignoring his scowl at my obvious disrespect, I headed straight to the kitchen where my Bella was stirring

5 YEARS LATER... LEONARDO'S POV I reclined in one of Enzo's plush office chairs, half listening to my cousins drone on about business. My gaze landed on Enzo's hands as he gesticulated, and I had to bite my cheek to keep from laughing. His nails were painted a glittery pink and decorated with Hello Kitty stickers. When he caught me staring, Enzo shrugged. "Gigi ambushed me this morning." "Daddy-daughter time looks good on you, brother," I teased. Enzo shot me a wry look. "We'll see how you handle it when your little hellion grows up." I chuckled thinking about my spirited son. "Adriano keeps things exciting, for sure. Just yesterday he finger-painted a mural on his bedroom wall using Rosalina's lipstick." My cousins howled. "Takes after his old man," Luca said. "In all the best and worst ways," I agreed. Right on cue, my cell phone rang. I didn't have to check the caller ID to know it was Adriano's teacher. "That'll be Mrs. Dawson now. Let me guess - he set off stink bombs in

LEONARDO'S POV(A few months later...)A piercing cry split the night air. I groaned, clinging to the last remnants of a pleasant dream as little Adriano's wails persisted."Your son is awake," I mumbled, still half asleep.Rosalina stirred slightly. "Before sunrise, he's your son," she quipped drowsily.I chuckled at the familiar Lion King quote, then dragged myself reluctantly from the warm bed. I shuffled over to the crib and gently lifted my bawling son into my arms. We had named him Adriano, after Rosalina's father."Shhh Adriano, go back to sleep," I soothed, rocking him gently. His tiny mouth rooted hungrily at my chest, latching onto my nipple. I winced. "Wrong nipple, buddy."I retrieved one of the bottles of breast milk Rosa had pumped earlier and offered it to Adriano. He sucked greedily, his cries subsiding as I held him close. I smiled down at my son, my heart swelling with love and pride. He had his mother's beautiful hazel eyes and my strong Salvadori nose and chin.I

My Nonna stepped forward, clasping my hands warmly. "Stellina, I'm so happy for you. You chose well, my dear. That boy loves you with his whole heart."I embraced Nonna tightly. "Thank you. For understanding, and supporting us." She stroked my hair lovingly. "Always, il mio tesoro."A loud commotion outside made us glance at the door. But one glance at my expression and he just sighed, holding out his hand.I shifted in my seat, trying to ignore the growing pressure in my bladder. The sun was starting to set, casting an orange glow across the desert landscape blurring past. LEONARDO'S POVThe dank basement reeked of blood and fear. My uncle Giovanni was tied to a chair, swollen and battered from the beating he had gotten. But I felt no pity for the traitor. My cousin Luca's eyes were wild with grief. Losing his twin Lucio had destroyed him. Now seeing his father Giovanni revealed as a turncoat was the last straw."Alright, talk," I said coldly to Giovanni. "Spill why you teamed up with Andrae against your own family."When Giovanni stayed silent, Alessio slammed a fist into his gut. Giovanni wheezed in pain as Luca flinched, choking back a sob."Last chance," I said casually as Giovanni fought for breath. "Give me the details, then you get a quick death for ratting out the family."Fear flashed in Giovanni's eyes. He started rambling about how Andrae had approached him and offered control of the family if Giovanni helped kill my brother."Lies!" Giovanni cried desperately. "He used me! LILLINA'S POVI cradled Enzo's limp hand in both of mine, pressing fervent kisses to his chilled fingers. The steady beep of the heart monitor was my lone comfort as I maintained my bedside watch. His chest rose and fell rhythmically, but he remained locked away in unconsciousness. "You have to come back to me, Enzo" I whispered, my vision blurring. "Our daughter needs her father." I swiped angrily at the tears streaking my face. I had to be strong for our child, though the effort threatened to shatter my fragile composure.A knock interrupted my swirling thoughts. Carlo entered, his expression carefully neutral. "Any change?" I shook my head mutely, a fresh wave of tears spilling over. Suddenly, Vincenzo's hand twitched feebly in mine. Gripping the gold-flecked countertop, I steadied my breathing, willing my roiling nerves to quiet. Today Leonardo pledged himself to another while our unborn child grew in secret within me.The door creaked open and my reflection paled. Mia. An awkward tension thickened the air as we hovered, over the betrayed bride-to-be and the 'other woman'. To my surprise, her dark brown eyes held no malice. Only sympathy. "Hey, Rosalina," she said gently. "Are you okay?"I attempted a weak smile, my hands trembling. "A bit unwell, thanks." A massive understatement.
