Affliction 8

Aurelia P.O.V

I held my breath again when I saw my poor grade on my tablet, we had a quiz with one of our terror professors earlier, it's a surprise quiz that's why I was really nervous, I did advance reading last night for our subjects today but it didn't seem to help because of my grade today, It will  definitely upset Mommy because of this grade.

I looked around the entire cafeteria, there didn't seem to be any empty seats because today was also lunch break because my class ended a little late, not only because our good professor didn't give a quiz, she's not contented with her exam-like quiz so we also did a recitation earlier, it's a good thing my name wasn't called because if it had been, it might have been the end of me.

Every day I really feel like it's the end of me because I'm not really happy with this course. The study I'm doing is forced.

I was about to turn around and thought about not eating anymore but a familiar voice called my name. I looked for it and saw Maggie's waving hand on me.

I smiled when our eyes met, I immediately got closer to her when she signaled me to come closer to her.

"Are you looking for a place to sit, Aurelia?" She smiled and asked me, I smiled and nodded at her.

"I hope so, because I couldn't find anything in the crowd. I just decided not to eat anymore." I answered her.

"What are you doing, you need to eat, we need a lot of energy because of our next professor, it's better if you eat with me, I just arrived and I immediately saw this empty seat."

"Aren't you with someone Maggie? Maybe because you have friends, it would be embarrassing if I were to hang out here, and another thing, you know that all the students here don't like me." I laughed and said to her.

"What all? Will I invite you to eat with me here if I don't like you? And one more thing, will I talk to you if I don't like you too? What are you, don't be all students here, I have no reason to dislike you either. So come on, leave your things there and let's get something to eat."

We just left our things on the table then we headed to the front together to buy food. When we finished, we immediately returned to our table.

"Where's your friend who's always with you Maggie?" I asked her curiously, because I also noticed that they had not been together for a few days, I also saw that her friend was with someone else, I heard something that it seems that the two had a bad argument, so maybe they are like this now, she already has her with me. I just don't know about Maggie who is now approaching me.

"Ah, Clarice, we had an argument with that girl, she thought that her boyfriend and I were in a relationship because she saw Enzo and me at the Mall, while I only saw that man and then he asked me to have coffee so I agreed. I also thought they were together there, but they weren't." I nodded while she talked.

"Just because of that? Have you not been okay?”

"I explained to her that that's what happened but she didn't want to believe me, even her boyfriend who was explaining, she didn't listen. That one's brain is really narrow, I don't even know how Enzo can stay with that girl for so long."

"Maybe he really loves your friend. Let it go, maybe she's still annoyed now so she doesn't want to make amends, but I'm sure that when her annoyance goes away she'll make amends with you." I just said and continued eating.

"I really don't know why people don't like you, you're smart Aurelia, I've never seen you cut down on people who bully you, you have a very long patience with such things, people know the situation of your family, but they don't know that you are very kind and nice to be around." I smiled at her again before answering.

"I don't even care what people will think of me, the people who study at this school are famous people so it really depends on the state of life that they recognize, in my situation, the family is well known but they think of me as a shame.” Maggie sighed at what I said."That's okay, I'm used to it. The people at our house look at me no differently than the people here at our school."

She just smiled then nodded at me and continued eating. We also just talked about the quiz that happened earlier. We both just laughed because we had the same bad grades. She said she had been partying all night so she didn't answer much in the quiz earlier, fortunately she still remembers some of the lessons our professor gave.

"Oh wow? The last time I checked you were not with anyone. Looks like you found your future friend Aurelia? Good for you, after 2 years, right? You already have a friend.” Vidia said that Maggie and I both stopped eating.

"What do you want, Vidia?" I looked at Maggie then I shook my head at her, it's better if we just ignore her to stop her, maybe Maggie and I will both end up in harm's way because of Vidia who has a crazy head.

"It's okay Maggie, just let Vidia go." I politely said no and continued eating.

Vidia was about to speak when someone called her and said she was being called to a professor's office. I saw that Maggie was in agony when Vidia turned her back on us. I just laughed and continued what we were talking about earlier.

Together we turned to my tablet on the table. A message came so I read it right away. I smiled widely because of what I read.

"Looks like our vacancy will be extended now." I said smiling to Maggie. I was surprised when she suddenly shouted "Yes" so we both laughed again.
