Selene: A Blissful Morning
Voices seep into Selene's dreams, drawing her to open her eyes. She is in her bed alone, the voices coming from the foot of her bed. She stirs, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. "Good morning," she greets.
"Good morning, love," Liam smirks. She reaches for him, and he responds, climbing in next to her. "Sleep well, doll?" Jones moves to the other side, kissing her forehead. " Yea, what were you talking about?" Selene buries her nose in the beta's neck, breathing in his alluring chocolate and campfire scent. "Everything," Liam replies. He lifts her chin to meet her eyes. "I'm not going to lie, love. Toby and I don't fancy the idea of sharing you. Now you have two mates-vampires no less, that we have to share. However... we want you happy, princess. The witch smiles at the image in her looking glass. The vampire alpha and the faerie queen are consumed with distrust and hate. The witch didn't have to do much to cause this rift; she only planted the seeds of doubt on Jones and Esther. When the faerie queen discovered Selene's mating to Jones, the seed exploded, creating a whirlwind of dark energy within the witch. The vampire alpha was easier prey than Esther, his doubt and hate for the faeries were easy to feed. Cleo cackles at Selene's feeble attempt to stop their violent quarrel while the Pack Luna's voice is rendered useless. The grin on Cleo's face widens-the spell was going better than she imagined. Selene, you can't escape me! A haunting voice rings out into the pitch dark. A cackle follows the voice. Selene tried to adjust her eyes to the blackness, but all she could feel was heavy, dark energy. She can feel the tendrils of the dark magic lick her ankle, slowly climbing up her legs. "No!" Selene screams, white light shooting out of her. A tan wolf appears from the darkness. Selene, it's me! Focus on me! Imagine we are running in the woods behind home, our mates following behind... Feather's gold eyes lock on Selene, sending a calming aura through. The dark magic wasn't about to give up quickly, as it spasmed away from the hybrid and began clumping together, rising like a wave. "Selene! Don't! If the magic touches you, it will taint us-our pup! Feather growls in a warning. A strong wind begins to swirl around Selene and Feather. Selene is lifted off her feet and churned around in the air.

A doctor and nurse block her view. Tears begin to flow down her cheeks as she hears the doctor. "The pup is in distress." A cold set of hands touch her shoulder, and she feels calm. A male voice mumbles something next to her, but it sounds like white noise. "Get them out of here! She only needs one mate at the moment!" The nurse yells at someone out of her vision. Her teary eyes roll to the side, and she sees Jones. He kisses her knuckles. "Selene? If you can hear this mind link, come back, doll. Your-our baby, she is in distress. She needs her mum Selene. I need you. Luke needs you. Hell, everyone needs you."Jones's deep voice flows through her head. She leans into his touch.
