Luke slips to the cold, dank cell floor, bunching his long legs against his chest. He leans his head against the wet wall sighing in resignation. Perhaps this was his penance for his mistreatment of Selene. How could he so callously disregard a second-chance mate? Footsteps approach his corner of the dungeon, followed by the sound of something being dragged. The guards shove an unconscious body into the cell next to his. A groan rings out. Nora lifts her eyes and spots Luke. She releases a blood-curdling scream, but the guards ignore it, walking back to the dungeon door. "Stop, you screaming mutt, or I will have an early dinner." Luke rolls his eyes. H
