Without Permission- Meilani's Point of View

           "Here's your schedule and your room key, Ms. Black." The secretary, Ms. Jameson, said.

          She handed me an envelope and a red and black painted key. I looked down at the key and noticed the numbers: 338 was written in white. I smiled at Ms. Jameson before I left the front office. My eyes scanned the college that was painted black and red in the entire place. They were letting their colors be known throughout the whole school, I thought to myself. 

         There were a lot of students in the school that came that day. They wore their uniforms and I hate to admit, I was a little nervous. The way the girls skirt were looking, I was unsure if I felt comfortable to show my ass around the whole campus, in front of the men. But, I have to say it was better to be here than in Lafayette, Louisiana where my father's pack was controlled my every move.

         I walked over to the elevators and pressed the up button. Once the double doors opened, I walked in and turned around, looking for the buttons that most elevators have. I tried to press the number 3 button, but nothing moved. The doors closed, but the elevator stayed where it was. 

        "What the hell?" I asked myself.

        I pressed the button multiple times. Hell I thought maybe number 2 would work, but I still got nothing. I pressed the door opener and the doors opened back up. I was on my way to walk out when another female walked up. The way she looked and the way she walked into the elevator made me envy her. Her purple long hair that bounced on her shoulders every time she turned. Her milky skin tone looked real smooth with no type of blemish or bruises. Her face was covered in piercings and she had a belly button ring on. Her big sapphire colored eyes stare back at me and I pointed to the buttons.

       "The elevators aren't working." I told her.

        "These elevators get a maintenance check every 4 days." She said. "They never break down and I've been at this school for a year."

        She walked into the elevator and the doors closed again. She glanced at me and when I did not budge, she groaned with annoyance.

         "What floor are you on?" She asked.

         "3." I told her.

          She raised her eyebrows at me and pointed to the buttons.

          "Oh. Right."

          I rushed to the buttons and pressed 3 again. 

          "Press 'OK'." The girl said.

         I did what she told me to do. This time, the elevator spoke to me.

           "Camera on." The automatic system said. "Show me something."

            I raised an eyebrow, trying to figure out what it meant. Show it something? Hm, what am I going to show it?

            "Well?" The girl asked. "The camera is waiting."

             I put my room key in my pocket and removed my schedule from the envelope. I unfolded the piece of paper and showed it to the camera. Nothing. I moved the paper closer to the glass. Again, there was no indication if it worked or not. I decided to turn the paper to the side.

            "Are you fucking serious?" The girl asked me.

            I turned to her, wondering what she was talking about.

           "What?" I asked. "I'm trying to show it my schedule, but it's not working."

           "Um, wow…. Okay."

          The girl pushed me out of the way and stood in front of the camera. With a quickness she lifted her shirt, showing off her small pierced nipples to the camera. A flashing sound was heard and soon afterwards, the elevator began to move. The girl put her shirt down and turned to me.

         "In order for the elevators to work, you need to show some skin." The girl told me. "Otherwise you're going to be looking stupid like you just did a minute ago."

         "Well, I was not sure what the machine meant."

         

         The girl chuckled.

          "You thought that was a machine? That elevator is operated by a 30- year old man. The reason for the camera is to get you to feel comfortable with your body."

          "Wait, a guy is operating the elevators?"

         She smiled and nodded at me.

         "And you're okay with that? I mean, does anybody know who this guy is?"

         "Yeah, it's Hector."

         I raised an eyebrow at her. 

         "And how do you know this guy?"

         "Hector? Oh, I've been fucking him for the past month."

          Hm, so that explains why she was comfortable, I thought to myself. The rest of way was quiet. It was not a long ride at all. Once we got to the 3rd floor, the doors opened and the girl walked out.

         "Happy fucking!" She shouted in excitement before she walked off.

          I walked off and headed to 338. I kept my eyes on every door that I walked past so I would not miss my room. 

          "337…." I said, then I stopped at the door next to it. "338. Great."

          I grabbed the key from my pocket and used it to unlock the door. My hand turned the door knob, pushing it open and my eyes scanned the new living arrangement. The room smelled so clean. It had that Mr. Clean smell to it. The desk made out of cedarwood was wiped down and shining. The room was the same color as the school. Nothing new, I thought. As I walked further into the room, my eyes landed on the queen size bed that was covered with a black thick blanket and Red and black sheets. 

          I was enjoying the view of this room. A big bayview window that let me see out into the waters, the tub and shower combo that had a removable shower head. The smell was so refreshing that I did not want to leave this room. After touring the master room, I headed back to the bed and took a seat on the edge. This was what I wanted. 

          I wanted to come here and enjoy my life. I was only 19 and most of my past years was used by being my father's shadow. Now that I was here, I was going to enjoy it the best way I could. But, knowing The Black Wolves, they were going to do everything they could to get me back to them. That was something I would prevent at all cost.

         While in deep thought, my phone rang. I sighed as I already knew it was from. I took my phone from my pocket and answered it, putting it on speaker.

          "Father?" I called to him.

          "You better give me a good fucking reason why I don't come up there and snatch you out of that school by your fucking hair." He said to me. 

      

          His growl scared me. My father breathed into the phone like he was close to transformation.

           "I wanted to come and-." 

           "I DON'T FUCKING CARE, MEILANI! YOU DISOBEYED MY DAMN ORDERS!

           "You didn't give me much of a choice! I wanted to come and you embarrassed me in front of your pack!"

           Father gotten quit. He did not say anything and hell, I didn't either.

          "I'm going to give you a chance to come back to the pack." He finally said. "Come back to the pack. Live your life as the Alpha's daughter and redeem yourself for not following orders."

            I got off the bed and shook my head. Why would I leave and I was already here? This place was awesome. I was around others I could blend in with. There was no more staying in isolation or handling business when I could be in school, learning. I squeezed my hand around the phone, ready to disappoint my father.

          "I'm sorry, but I'm not coming back." I told him.

          He sighed.

          "Your brother, Reiko, will be coming to pick you up next week."

          He hung up the phone and I felt the fear in my heart. The one person that I feared the most, besides my father was my older brother, Reiko. He was next in line to become the Alpha of The Black Wolves and he was extremely dangerous. Just hearing the fact that my brother was coming to retrieve me, made me regret coming here.

         "What have I done?" I asked myself.

         I placed both my hands over my face. What was I going to do?
