Raul frowned, his face getting red with anger. Before he could say anything else, Gwen quickly grabbed Tyron's arms and began to walk away."Goodbye, sir." She said to Raul as she left. They both walked out of the theater in silence, Tyron grinning inwardly and Gwendolyn utterly confused. it wasn't u til they had boarded their carriage and had gone a few miles away from the Theater that Gwen finally asked."Did you have anything to do with Raul's house being robbed?""Please, don't tell me you actually believe him." Tyron said, rolling his eyes."But it's strange though, isn't it? Who else in the whole realm has the level of power that you have?""Dear Gwen," Tyron grinned, leaning forward to touch her chin. "You would be surprised by the number of powerful people that resides in your realm." He then leaned back and sighed. "Besides, I am more surprised that he suspects me of having powers.""Well, who wouldn't?" Gwen asked, looking at him curiously. "You are basically a stranger here
Gwen was at home, working on a new song for her workplace. Raul had hired several artists that he could train, but they all lacked the skill of songwriting. So he left her the job of creating songs for them. She was seated by her couch, on the floor, hitting the tip of her charcoal pencil on the note she was writing. Deep in her thoughts, she didn't notice the presence of her mother when she came into the living room."Honey," her mother said, and Gwendolyn quickly glanced at her. "Are you okay?" her mother asked, walking over. "Yeah," Gwendolyn, replied, sitting up straight. "I am fine, I guess." Her mother sat down on the couch opposite her. "Something bothers you. I can see it.""It's no big deal.""Spill. What is it?"Gwendolyn glanced at her mother. "Aren't you supposed to be at your bakery?""I decided to take a break today." Her mother replied, fanning her hair. "I am a little stressed lately, and I thought that I should rest." Her mother stared at her face."You, on the othe
Gwendolyn arrived back from work looking extremely tired. She knocked on the door of her house, softly massaging her neck as she waited for her mother to get the door open. Her mother had taking another leave that day, and so would be in the house. A few minutes later, her mother opened the door. “Good evening.” Gwen greeted, making her way inside. “What took you long to open the door?” She walked to the couch set and collapsed on it, throwing her bag on the ground. When her mother didn’t say anything, she glanced at her. “Mum?” Her mother had closed the entrance door, but she still stood next to it, lost in her thoughts. “Mom.” Gwen called again, startling her mother out of her dream. She quickly looked at her daughter, her eyes glazed. “Yes dear? What is it?” Gwen sat up slowly, concern etched on her face. “Is something wrong?” “No,” her mother said, forcing a laugh as she waved her hands. “Nothing is wrong. Don’t worry about it.” “Don’t bother lying to me, mother.” Gwendol
Tyron looked at Gwen as they both walked down the street where her work studio was situated. She looked lost in thought, and Tyron was a bit concerned about it. He had never seen her that way."Is anything wrong?" He asked.Gwen sighed and looked up at the sky. "Do you remember when I told you about my father? If I had thought there was no way he could get even worse, I was proven wrong.""Tyron frowned. "What happened?"The street was silent as they both walked slowly. They had both worn huge coats that would protect them from the chilly breeze of the Dras weather. "My father wants me to stay with him.""Why is that?""Because he needs an heir."Tyron frowned further. "I thought you said he wasn't bothered about that?""Apparently I was wrong. He has so many enemies that would take advantage of that fact. So he wants me to act as his heir till his wife gives him a child. Even if she didn't, he would find a way to rule through me till his death.""Wow. That's shocking." He kicked a li
Gwendolyn finished the work Raul had given her with a heavy sigh. She was to crosscheck the lyrics of about fifty different songs and spot out or edit words that may not be good enough. What annoyed her was that it was beginning to look glaringly like a punishment. Even her colleagues felt pity for her, but none attempted to help her in order not to spark Raul's rage. She scoffed, thinking of what Tyron said. This just further proves her point that Raul in no way likes her. What kind of man tortures the girl he is interested in? Sighing, she stood up from her desk and walked over to his office. Taking in a deep breath, she knocked once on the door."Come in." Raul said.Slowly, she pushed her way inside, her head bowed."I'm done with the work you gave me." She said, placing the pile of files she had taken with her on his desk.Raul looked at her wryly and took the document at the top of the pile, then quickly skimmed through it. He then nodded his head and placed the document back a
Gwen threw her head back, laughing loudly. "Even I know that is a lie."Sandra frowned, folding her hands against her chest. "What do you mean?""Tyron made it very clear to me that he had nothing to do with you." Gwen sighed, shaking her head. "I really do not want to get on your bad side, because really, I am not in the mood. But I do not think Tryon would appreciate you lying with his name.""We were once lovers." Sandra said with gritted teeth. "He would be mine sooner or later. He just doesn't know it yet.""And why are you telling me this? Are you scared that he wouldn't return to you in the end?"Sandra walked closer to her, a malevolent look in her eyes. "I was right to suspect that you are more than what you look like. Who would have thought that calm, docile Gwen could actually bite?""You are not close to me. I have no right to show myself to you.""You are right on that." Sandra said, shaking her head. "I just wanted to let you know though, that I wouldn't seat down and wat
In the highest level of the Enu realm, The supreme lord walked around the throne room, looking out through the huge glass behind his door. His long white hair lay long behind his back to his feet, almost touching the floor. He adorned a black robe, and he folded both his hands behind his back. His eyes were darker than usual, yet they did nothing to hide his handsomeness. He was eerily handsome, his features a rarity. "My lord." A guard called from behind him. Slowly, he turned around to face who had called him. The guard knelt on one foot, his head bowed. "My lord, I have come to report."The Supreme Lord turned around and walked to his throne seat, then he waved his arm and sat down regally on it."Go ahead.""Everything is going according to plan, my Lord." The guard started. "We have all of our men stationed in the Ogwu realm, blending well with the people.""Hmm." The supreme lord replied, nodding his head. "What of the Zruch realm?""My lord, not all our men are fully stationed
Gwen was angry. And sad.As she walked back to her house, she wiped away the tears that had managed to fall down her eyes. Well, at least she was now clear on who Tyron favored the most. She wouldn't need to embarrass herself by confessing to him.But why did it hurt her so?She couldn't bare to return to talk with him. Exactly what would she say? The main reason she had arranged for a meeting with him, was so that she could confess her feelings. Sandra had made it clear that she would never allow that to happen, not on her watch. To think she had taken extra care of her appearance. In the end, it was all for naught. She returned to her house, and her mother rushed to her once she saw the look on her daughter's face."What's wrong?" She asked, concerned.Gwen walked straight into her mother's embrace and sobbed. Her mother held her for a while, simply running her hand through her hair to comfort her. Later, they both walked to the couch and sat down."Tell me," her mother started softl
The piercing scream of Luther's wife filled the air, but no one paid any attention to her. All their attention laid on Gwen, the woman who had just rescued them from the millennial reign of a mad man."What are you doing?" Tyron boomed out of nowhere. "Bow to your new leader!"Gwen turned to look at him, frowning. "What are you doing?" She whispered. "You killed the Supreme Lord of the Enu realm. You are now the new supreme lord." He said simply, shrugging. She frowned, and just as she was about to say something, Luther's wife boomed."You can't be the new leader. Not when my sons are still alive.""Your sons are barely alive," Tyron said, snickering. "Weren't you listening while I was talking? He—" he said, pointing to Luther's corpse. "Used their blood to improve his youth. Whatever he did wasn't working for him anymore, and so he turned to his own blood. Haven't you noticed something wrong with your children? Yourself even?""No!" She exclaimed, shaking her head vigorously. "You'
Gwen stepped back a bit, staring at Luther in shock."No," She whispered. Slowly, luther turned fully around, a disappointed look on his face. "This was a special day for us, why did you have to destroy it?"She swallowed, trying hard to be bold. "As I said earlier, I'd rather die than be married to you.""But I can't let that happen. And because if this foolish mistake of yours, your friends will suffer immensely."Immediately, Gwen summoned dark flames, her stance in attack mode. " I will fight you with everything I have."Luther sighed, then raised his fingers towards her. But nothing happened. Frowning, luther stared at his hands, abs Gwen stared st him, wondering what was happening. Immediately he swivels around, trying to hide himself from her, but it was too late. She already knew what happened. Her attack had worked after all. Not just in the way she expected. "You can't use your powers," she said staring at his back. "Can you?"Angrily he turned back to her, his face eer
Gwen and Luther finally reached the throne. Though the woman didn’t say anything, Gwen could still much feel the scorching stare of Luther’s wife on her back. She gulped, trying to calm her nerves down. By the time she was done with her plan, anger might be the last thing the woman would feel. “I hold the supreme power in this land.” Luther began. “Therefore, it is only right that i officiate a powerful wedding such as this. You are lucky,” he said, this time whispering to her. “I never did this for my first wedding.” She gritted her teeth, imagining ways by which she could kill him. She didn’t want to marry him. It was the last thing on her mind. The plan she had imagined only required them to go so far, but she never knew that they would wed in front of everyone. If she wanted to defeat this man, she had to do so immediately, and fast. Luther turned around, urging Gwen to do the same. He ran his hand gently across her back, causing cold shivers to crawl up her skin. “People of th
An hour passed. The maids were done. They left the room a few minutes ago to report to the man who had hired them.Gwen stared at herself in the mirror, feeling a bit weird for he vision looking back at her.She was beautiful, no doubt, but the image wasn't what caught her attention. It was the dim light that shone from her eyes. She knew the action she was about to take. Should she fail, that would spell a fate worse than death for her. "Gwen," Sheryl said, coming up from behind her.""I am fine." Gwen answered, sighing. She looked at Tyron through the mirror. He stood at the far corner of the room, his face etched deeply in a frown, with a thick air of misery surrounding him."This is what I have to do. The fate of the realms depends on it," she said.Tyron sighed, then furiously dragged his hands through his hair."I understand, of course I understand. But why does it have to be you?"Gwen frowned slightly, cocking her head. "What do you mean?""I do not want you anywhere near that
"How many times will I tell you to stop playing with your life?" Luther asked coldly, causing Gwen to grin."Wow, if I never knew how much I meant yo you before, I do now. It really does seem like inam your weakness."Luther sighed, dragging his hands through his hair. "I will let you all leave quietly, but that shouldn't mean you should take any drastic action.""Hey, Prince Luther, I have another request-""Do not push your luck." He boomed, staring coldly at Gwen. He then released a slow sigh. "Do not push your luck. I don't want to have to repeat my past mistakes. Understand?" He said with a forced grin.Gwen gulped, then glanced back at her friends and slowly let the shield down. She stayed in place, not moving an inch until Luther's guards parted for her. Slowly, they all began to walk to the entrance, and they quickly walked out of it when they reached, not bothering to pause for the supreme Lord."Gwen, what are you doing?" Sheryl asked when they had gone far from Luther."I'm
They had just rounded off their meeting when the supreme lord suddenly appeared in the garden."Well, well. Why am I not surprised?" He said, walking in. Behind him were several fully armed guards, their presence ominous.Gwen and her friends moved a step back, with Gwen standing in front of them in a protective manner.Luther chuckled. "What do you think you're doing?""I wouldn't let you harm my friends." Gwen said defensively. Luther sighed, shaking his head. "You should have thought of that before you escaped.""Why are you acting like you didn't know when I left that room. You planned all this, just to follow me.""You are smart. I have never doubted that." He said, and Gwen grimaced."Fine then." He clapped his hands. "There is only one thing to do if you want your friends to be safe."Gwen's frown deepened. "And what is that?""Marry me."She chuckled. "It's like you have forgotten what I said. I would rather die than get married to you.""Well this time you'd have no choice.
Geen looked at them, her eyes flooding with relief. "You are okay!" She exclaimed, almost jumping in happiness. "Oh thank heavens.""What are you doing here? How were you able to escape?" Tyron said, dragging his gaze over her."Yeah," Sheryl added. "We thought you'd be held by the supreme lord.""I was." Geen answered. "But I was able to escape."At that, Tyron's frown deepened. "Something's very wrong." He pointed out. "Quick, cast a protection spell over us."Gwen frowned. "How do I do that?" "I don't know. Make it seem like we are in the Zruch realm or something."Gwen understood immediately what he meant. Hester and Marc had once mentioned that it's Impossible for people to be tracked once they were in the realm. She sighed, pinched her already injured arm to draw out blood, and whispered a spell while waving her hands around them. A dark cloudy smoke appeared and covered them, then suddenly disappeared."Good." Tyron said, sighing in relief. "Now let's get out of here."Gwen no
Gwen stared at him in shock. “You are lying.” “I might be many things, my dear, but I will never lie to you.” he sat by the edge of her bed. “I sent him on a mission to bring the Abomination to me. That was what he was doing at first, but his plans changed when he realized you were the Abomination. I don’t blame him though. I would have done the same myself.” Gwen touched a hand to her chest, hyperventilating. He was lying. He had to be. Tyron wasn’t the type who would play her like that. But the more she thought about it, the more the idea seemed plausible. He had never mentioned who his father was, only that he was part of the elite in this realm. He had also said that his father sent him in search for something, which he later claimed to be the abomination. According to him, his “father” was determined to work with the abomination in order to bring down the supreme lord of the Enu realm. “Are you angry?” he asked with a mocking smile. “Do you feel betrayed?” Gwen swallowed, fol
Gwen couldn't sleep. She laid awake all night, afraid that Luther would enter her room. She wasn't stupid to think that just because she had locked the door, it totally prevented him from entering her room. Especially after the display he showcased the previous day. She doubted that the barrier she put around her door could stop him if he so wishes. She was brought food by maids the previous night, but she couldn't eat. For some strange reason, the maids gave off doll-like gestures, almost like they were being controlled like puppets. She wouldn't put it past Luther to actually do that. She had to up her game, and think fast. Her first plan had proven futile, which meant she had to use her second plan—her wits.It was something she detested doing because to achieve her goal, she would have to act like she had no problem being close to Luther which she absolutely did. It was morning. The sunlight seeped through her room from the half-closed windows, pouring over her bedsheets.Quickly
