Austin’s Point of View

I can’t stop thinking about her as I’m lying in my bed. Her smile, the way she stares at me with those brown eyes. I need to get to know her. I need to know what coffee she likes, how she wakes up in the morning, and what her sleepy voice sounds like. She is different from all the other women I have met over my entire existence.

Every woman I’ve met was either prim and proper. They had to wear the newest fashions. Needed to keep track of all the latest trends. Other were too bitchy. Trying to take control over my life and the rest was just too soft. Saying sorry about every little, tiny thing. Dropping their lipstick “sorry.” Accidently bumping me “sorry.” But Mia, she is just something else.

Doesn’t take shit from anyone. If you are in the wrong, she makes sure you know it. She isn’t afraid to show you that she cares about you. She is just real.

My favorite part of her is how pure she is and the scent that she has. Just the thought of her scent being mine. Getting out of bed, the idea of her gave me an erection. Fuck I wish I could have her here right now. In my bed with me inside of her.

I quickly jump into the shower. The bathroom is covered by steam. The cold air coming through the cracks around the door was soothing for the body. Finishing, I step onto my balcony, with only a towel around my waist. From here, I could see Crissy sitting on her porch drinking her coffee as she does every day. This is the one part of my day that I look forward to.

Just being able to wake up and to see her. Even if it isn’t with her standing next to me. This will have to do for now. I get dressed and style my hair, placing gel on it to keep it in place. Making my way downstair I see my brothers are already sitting at the dinner table. Both are eating away their breakfast.

“Eggs are in the pan, and bacon in the other.” Michael says while reading his book and drinking his coffee.

“Thanks. Alexander, can’t you be a little bit more decent? You are such an animal.” I look at him eating like a pig while I grab a piece of toast.

“Proud to be one.” He smiles at me and continues eating. Shaking my head while making my way to the door.

“I’m going out.” While I reach for the door handle, Michael mumbles something.

“Remember father’s rules. Don’t interact too much with the humans, especially Crissy.” Placing his book down onto the counter. “I know you want to keep her safe, and the only way to do that is to say away from her.”

“I’m not that irresponsible. Besides I don’t hardly even know her, so why would I want to protect some human. See you guys later. Oh Alexander, try whipping your face.” I look at Alexander in disgust. Alexander snorts at me and continues to slobber down on his food. I can’t believe that we are even slightly related.

Climbing into my car, the school bus drives by. I assume Crissy is on that bus because of the state of her car. I need to sort that out as soon as possible. I usually park outside her school and wait for her to finish her school hours. I know she’s alone until four because she always waits for her brother to finish soccer practice.

While she waits for him to finish, she quicky pops to town. She always goes to the same café, Annie’s. Drinking a milkshake. After that, she goes to the shopping Centre to buy ingredients to make their dinner for the evening. By this time, it is just a bit past two. Then she goes back, and she parks in her usual spot, and she then goes and sits on the bench they have outside the school. Today she couldn’t do her routine, so she just sat on the bench reading a book.

My brother almost ran her over with his car on the first day we moved here. Fucking idiot. But I couldn’t do anything because I didn’t want to have any interactions with humans. So, I just sat helpless in my car. From that day I saw her was the day I knew I had to get to know her.

Sitting in my car every day trying to find a perfect excuse to go and talk to her without seeming weird that I’m sitting outside a school without having an infant here. My phone buzzes, picking it up seeing a text from Michael asking to pick up some steaks, when someone knocks on my car window. Its Crissy. Shit, how did she see me? What do I say? How do I explain why I am here? I roll down my window, and I smile at her.

“Hi,” I say with confidence.

“Hi, what are you doing here? Are you waiting for someone?” she asks in her beautiful voice.

“Well...” I try to find the perfect excuse. “My brother asked me to meet him here, and I guess he is a no-show. I better be getting home now.” Reaching for my keys to start my car.

“Oh, but if you want to wait a bit longer, you can come and sit with me. I have snacks.” She smiles brightly. Oh, how I love her smile.

“You hardly know me, and you’re already asking me on a date. Sure, if you insist” Letting out a chuckle I climb out of my car and walk with her to the bench.

Sitting on the bench, I didn’t know what to say. I have never been so word-stunned when I was near someone; I usually know exactly what to say. With her, I’m different. Is it good or bad? I can’t decide. After a minute or so, I decide to break the ice. Taking a big breath I start to speak.

“Crissy, tell me where you come from and how you came to a place like this?”

She looks at me with those big brown eyes. “Well, I lived in Hallsville for most of my life. I studied to become a pre-school teacher, but complications happened, and I had to put my studies on hold for a while. Then I started my first job at Hallsville Pre-school, but with what happened. I started to save up money, and I moved here. To get away from the stuff that happened back then.”

“What complications?” I ask with one eyebrow raised.

“That is a story for another time. I don’t know you that well to trust you with my deepest darkest secrets.” She winks at me.

I smile slightly. “Well, then you better get to know me more, and I would love it if I could get to know you better.” I lay back against the table. “Hopefully, then you can trust me with your secrets.”

“Why are you like this?” She asks while sitting upright.

I stare at her, confused. “Like what exactly?”

“So cocky and arrogant.” She starts to giggle.

Why are you like this, Crissy? So beautiful and exciting. Someone I need to know. A flower I need to pick.  Now I am sounding like a fucking idiot.

“I need to go. Thomas just finished soccer practice. I will see you around.”

“I’ll see you soon, Crissy.”

I can’t help staring at her ass as she starts to walk away. Her round, slapable ass. Fuck, Austin, get your thoughts straight. You are in public. Being a wolf and thinking about sex makes it harder to hide your boner. Sometimes I think I’m worse than Alexander. Okay, I don’t think I will ever reach his point of fucked-upness.

I walk to my car. I froze in my steps; I smell a familiar scent. Where did I smell it before? It is firm but not so that I can remember. Could it be another wolf? Or just someone that has been in contact with a wolf for too long. The sent is too far to make out. I should get home. I was out for too long. I climbed into my car and drove home. As I returned home, I saw Michael’s car wasn’t home. What happened to father’s orders, don’t come into contact with too many humans? Goodie tooshoes never does anything wrong.

Sometimes I wish I wasn’t the alpha because I have so many expiations to live up to, but if I’m not the alpha, my brothers would have control over me. I can’t have that. I can’t risk losing that power. I am stronger and more good-looking.

I look at the time and see it is almost past five. I go inside and see Alexander stuffing his face with food again. Man, this guy can eat. In his defense, he is a wolf, and we burn calories faster than humans.

While walking inside, Alexander stood right in front of me. He starts smelling me. I shove him out of the way while walking to my room.

“You were with her, weren’t you?” He says with disgust.

“Yeah, what about it?” I reply, still on my route to my room.

“She’s mine. Stay away from her. I am the one she’s going to give her virginity to.” He says determinedly.

I stop in my tracks. I flung around and grab Alexander by the throat and push him against the wall. “I am the Alpha. She is not yours for the taking. Know your place, Alexander.”

Just as I said those words, Michael walks into the room. “Release him!” His voice echoes through the house.

I growl at Alexander and release my grip. I turn around and stomp off to my room.

As I walk into my room, I slam the door shut. Walking straight to my balcony. I saw Crissy on the porch with her brother. I’m not too fond of eavesdropping on her, but sometimes I can’t help myself. I pick up my phone, calling a car dealership that owed me a favor. Arranging for them to drop off a new car for Crissy. I gave them her address and told them to leave the car in the driveway with the bow on top of the roof, with a letter.

I need to protect you, Crissy. I can’t let anything happen to you. She makes her way inside the house, I hear the door lock, meaning she was on her way to bed. Or maybe something else. I jump off my balcony, changing into wolf form, to begin my night routine. Scanning the premises to make sure my family and Crissy were safe. I always try and do my route without anyone seeing me.

Once I’m done, and sure the area is clear. I climb back up onto my balcony, and fall onto my bed.
