The following morning, Velma woke up with a start. Remembering what has transpired since she gave birth until now, she felt a headache.
When she was pregnant, her father had tried his best to block all the news concerning her. She also stopped going to the company.
Her father told her colleagues that she had fallen sick and had gone overseas to recuperate.
Thinking about her father, Velma's heart hurt so much that she could not even breath. Will he ever forgive her. Her father had been looking forward to the coming of his grandson, she did not expect that something like that could happen.
Suddenly the door was pushed open. Albert walked in the room wearing a plain t-shirt and loose pyjamas. It seemed like he was not going to work today.
"You are awake." His face bloomed with a happy smile when he saw Velma.
Velma looked at him and said nothing. She only cared about her baby and if he was okay.
"Where is my baby. I want to see him." Velma said.
"Your baby is alright. You should wash up and then I will take you to him." Albert said.
He moved forward and touched her forehead, seeing that her fever was gone he let out a relieved sigh. She suddenly developed a high fever yesterday at night and he was worried that it might be dangerous to her health. Knowing that the fever was gone, he was assured.
Seeing him come close and touch her forehead, Velma shrunk in the covers.
"What are you doing." She asked, her voice panicking.
"I'm just checking if your fever is gone. You suddenly developed a high fever of 41°C and I was worried. But it is gone. You should clean up and come out." Albert said and turned around to leave the room.
Velma looked at his lonely straight back and had a strange feeling in her heart.
When she tried to stand up, she suddenly realised that her body was very sticky and even the clothes were sticking on her body as if they soaked. She felt embarrassed thinking that Albert had seen her in that state. She wondered how long she had been sleeping.
She hurried to the bathroom to take a bath.
Soaking in the lukewarm water in the bathtub, Velma sudenly felt alive.
...
Martin had been in bad mood for the past few days and spent almost all his time drinking. He did not even care about the company and had not been seen for several days.
He had not even contacted Velma and he did not know how she was doing out there with a new born baby.
He felt terrible thinking about what his late wife had done to him. He could only drown himself in alcohol.
"Why are punishing yourself because of unimportant people?" Susan's displeased voice was heard the moment Martin opened the door his whole body reeking of alcohol.
"She betrayed you first. Why would you punish yourself because of her. Shouldn't you be strong so that whenever she is, she can feel ashamed of herself. You have already abandoned her daughter. What else are you afraid of? Wake up stop wasting your time and start building yourself up." Susan said as she supported him to the sofa.
But Martin pushed her away with disdain.
"What do you know about Christine? I know she had her own reasons. She will never betray me." Martin murmured in his drunken stupor.
"Stop fooling yourself Martin. Velma is there, proving that your wife betrayed you. She gave birth to child for another man. Don't you see that? Stop brainwashing yourself. It will be of no use." Susan shouted angrily.
Only she knew how she had endured all this time. Since they registered their marriage, Martin had never touched her. To be precise they slept in separate rooms.
Martin said that he will never betray his dead wife by sleeping with another woman. The far he could go was get a marriage certificate.
To him, Susan was more of a nanny than a wife. He had said that no one will be able to replace his dead wife.
He only married Susan because she slightly resembled Christine. The resemblance was not obvious but to Martin, it was like his wife had come back to life. That is why he agreed to marry Susan in the first place.
Susan was tired by being a substitute and really wanted to end this marriage, but thinking of the order from her master, she could only restrain herself and endure the humiliation.
"Chris...ti...ne..." Martin called out painfully and fainted.
Susan sneered in her heart and helped him to the masters bedroom.
This was her second time coming to this bedroom. The first time after their marriage, Martin almost strangled her to death when he found her sleeping in the bed.
**Flashback**
"What are you doing here?" Martin asked angrily as he approached the bed.
"We are married, aren't we supposed to stay in the same room." Susan said, not understanding what she had done wrong.
"Who said that you could step into this bedroom. You have no right to do that. This is mine and Christine's room, no one is allowed to enter." Martin roared at her.
"From now on, you will staying in the guest room. Just take care of my daughter well and I will not treat you bad."
Her face was streamed with tears as she left the room but Martin did not show any mercy.
***
Coming back in this room for the second time, she felt sentimental and did not know what to do.
But remembering the humiliation she had suffered, she just wanted to stuff Martin on the bed and leave immediately.
After walking him to bed, Susan helped him to remove his shoes and tucked him in the covers.
She turned around intending to leave but Martin immediately hold her hand.
"Christine... don't leave okay. I don't care as long as you are with me. I don't even care about Velma, please come back to me."
Susan turned stiff. He has still mistaken her for Christine, when will he ever stop to treat her like a substitute?
Susan turned around stiffly and tried to pry her hand from Martin's strong grip.
"I'm not Christine. I think you had too much to drink. You should rest." Susan said through gritted teeth.
"Christine, why did you do that to me?"
Before Susan could react, she was flung on the bed and fell directly in Martin's chest. He kissed her with hunger. She did not have time to react before her clothes were torn open.
When Martin opened his eyes, he felt a splitting headache. He could not even lift his eyelids. They were so heavy that they hurt when he tried to open them. He felt something moving on his side. Looking over he found the he was hugging something soft in his hand. Martin was startled. He even forgot about his hurting head as he looked over in an instant. Lying before him was Susan. Her face was flushed and several hickeys could be seen on her body. She was sleeping peacefully and clutching on his arm tightly. "What did I do yesterday? Did I sleep with her?" Martin thought as he removed Susan's hand that was clutching his. He was not at all gentle. He used a lot of force which made Susan to wake with a start. Her gaze was still dazed as she tried to remember what happened yesterday. Seeing that Martin was looking at her coldly, Susan felt a chill in her heart. "We have already slept together. What was with that gaze of his. Shouldn
Back at Martin's house, After Susan made sure that Martin was gone, she dialed a number that had not been dialed in a long time."Hello, the mission is done." Susan said the moment the phone went through."Good. Although it took you long enough." A reverberated laugh was heard from the other end of the phone."Try to take pictures of you two being intimate. I think that will be the torture to her.""Okay. Rest assured I will not fail you." Susan said and hung up the phone....Meanwhile, in Albert's study room... "What happened that night 9 months ago was a mistake." Velma stated. "How could you know that it was not fate?" Albe
Albert was startled when Velma fainted in his arms and immediately called the doctor. They gave her a IV drop and after confirming that she was not in any dangerous situation, Albert was relieved.Gift might have felt the distress of his mother and he too started to cry. The baby sitting nanny tried to calm him down by giving him milk, but he could not stop crying."Master, young master can't stop crying. I have changed his diaper, washed him and even gave him milk, but he is still crying." The nanny's voice reached Albert's ears the moment he stepped out of the room.Albert looked at the little dumpling crying hysterically in the nanny's hands and felt a headache."Let me hold him." Albert said as he stretcher out his hands to hold his baby.
In the car, looking at the woman whose face had turned pale, Albert knew that she had suffered. "What happened?" He asked softly as he helped her fasten the seat belt. "Nothing. I thought that my dad would at least want to see me but I was wrong. Maybe the affection we've had for each other died that day. He wants nothing to do with me." Velma said, having a complicated feeling in her heart. "I'm sorry, this is all my fault." Albert said, blaming himself. If he had controlled his desires, this would not have happened. "It is not your fault. You actually saved me in a way. If it had happened the way Winnie had planned, I'm pretty sure I will be dead by now." Velma said. "Don't worry about me. I will get over it soon. It is just that I don't know where I can start looking for a job." Velma said, closing her eyes. Just then her cell phone rung. It was Alvin calling. "Hello, dear. Where are you?" Alvin's gentle voice came through t
Arriving in the car, her face was as white as a sheet of paper. Albert was worried as he handed her a bottle of water."What happened? Why do you look so pale?" He asked, his voice filled with concern."Just drive." Velma said in a weak voice. Albert did not say anything else and started the car.Back in the hotel. Alvin did not know why his heart was stuffed the moment Velma walked out of that door. He could not bear to see her heartbroken but Winnie was holding onto him tightly and refusing to let go."Now that you have ended things with Velma, we can officially be together without any problem, right?" Winnie said lightly, fearing that she might hurt Alvin's feelings."Mmmm." He said absent mindedly. He did not know what he was feeling but he knew that his heart was filled with regret. He did not know if he has made the right decision. He actually knew Velma better than anyone else and she will never do anything to
When Brenda received the text containing the address, she was shocked. The place where Velma was, not anybody could get in. She knew that Velma were rich but not to the extent of affording a house in that place. The least price of a house in that district was in millions. Only the richest people in the country could afford a house in Karen estate. It was a home for most prominent business men and prominent politicians in the country. Casting away her doubts, Brenda took a taxi. Reaching the gates, she found someone waiting for her. Even the taxis were not allowed to hover around the area, the moment it dropped her, the driver drove away in a hurry. ''Are you miss Brenda?" The maid waiting for her asked politely. "Yes and you are?" Brenda asked. The maid did not answer her question and only smiled at politely. "Missus sent me to wait for you here, this way please." "Missus?" Brenda was shocked and looked at t
"The baby is too small. How do you hold it?" Brenda asked trying to hold Gift. He was just too small that she feared she might hurt him. After Velma taught her how to hold the baby well without hurting him, Brenda was delighted. She held the baby in her hands as she made funny faces at him. Although baby Gift could not understand, he smiled seeing that the person carrying him was smiling. Brenda was over the moon. "Velma, did you see that. He smiled at me. Did he recognize that I'm his godmother. Aaah his smiles... woah, this cute little thing will be a charmer when he grows up." "Stop exaggerating. He has not yet started to recognize people. He is still too young not even a month old." Velma said. Her eyes and smile were filled with motherly love. Albert walked down the stairs. Hearing the lady say that his baby boy was cute, his face bloomed with a warm smile. "Is this your friend." Albert asked when he reached where the ladies
"So you mean that after giving birth, you needed blood transfusion, you dad offered to donate but because your blood type doesn't match he concluded that you're not his daughter?" Brenda asked."That is what I was told when I woke up. I did not believe it untill Susan came flaunting how my dad has left me because I'm not his daughter. She played some tricks then the hospital threw me out.""You were away so I couldn't contact you. I was alone on the road and on the verge of giving up when Albert appeared. It so cold with a new born baby and no money. That was the most desperate moment of my life. I was even planning on abandoning my baby and maybe a good samaritan will pick him up but then he appeared.""I was guarded against him at first when I recognised him. I thought that he knew about my pregnancy and now he has come to take my baby away. But I fainted and when I woke up I was already here." Velma finished narrating her story.Brenda was so heartbrok
Alvin looked at the black and white lines on the paper. Although he understood every letter and word on it, but he could for some unknown reasons not understand what it was talking about. He could not believe what he was seeing. His face was as white as snow. Even the hand that was holding the document trembled slightly. Velma was standing there, looking at them coldly. She had never forgotten the humiliation she suffered when she went to explain things to Alvin, only to find out that he was dating her worst enemy. Be it not for Albert being by her side, she would have done something terrible. Alvin looked at Winnie, his eyes and aura cold. Winnie trembled. She knew that she was done for. There was nothing she could do. She looked at Velma with bitterness. How she wished for her to die. She wondered why that person did not just finish her off. Alfred had also seen the papers and his expression was even worse.
"What really happened? All I remember was that I was drinking tea with some man who seemed to know a lot about my mom, but everything else after that is a blur." Velma said, trying to, as hard as she could to remember exactly what happened. But all she got was a splitting headache."Don't think about it baby. Everything else is okay. Don't worry about it. What matters is that you are fine and well." Albert consoled as he patted her on back."Well..." Velma did not know what to say."Where is my son? How is he?" She asked nervously when she remembered that her son was taken away from her."He is alright. He is with mom.""I have a surprise for you." Albert said as he smiled mysteriously."What surprise?""Just a moment."Albert tapped on his phone screen a few times and the ward door was pushed open from the outside.Velma looked at the door wondering what the surprise was. Then, a woman wi
Seeing that the man was dead, Christine breathed a long sigh of relief. Now everything was over. Albert fired a shot at the door and pushed it open. He rushed in. It was dark he had to use a his phone's flash light. He find Velma lying unconscious on the floor and immediately rushed to carry her up. Albert rushed out at a lightning speed when he felt that her pulse was faint. At a private hospital under Gulf, Albert was fidgeting nervously as he watched the emergency room. He did not know what he will do if Velma will not make it. Christine had also rushed to the hospital. She had not seen her daughter for a very long time and had not imagined that their first meeting will be like this. She watched Albert as he walked back and forth nervously. "Hey, can you relax, Velma will definitely be alright." Christine said. Albert looked at the woman who looked exactly like Velma and nodded his head. He now understand
By the time Albert landed in the city, one hour had already passed. He did not know how Velma was doing and he was worried sick.He had mobilezed all of his men and they were on the standby. The moment he landed, his phone rang. He had switched it off whole he was in the plane and had only powered it on.He did not know the caller and quickly picked up the phone. He thought that he might be the person who took Velma."Hello.""Albert, thank God if found you. I'm Christine, Velma's mom." A female voice came over the phone.Albert was shocked for a moment before he came back to his senses."Aunt..." He called out."Where are you now?"I just landed. I'm at the airport now.""Have you heard about Velma?""Yes, just is why I especially came back. Does aunt know anything?" Albert asked. He sense that he would not came him if she did not have anything to say."Yes, I never imagined
Tom had changed their base. Although Christine did not ask anything and obediently followed, she knew that it must be Albert's doing because she had not heard any negative news concerning her daughter. Tom had tried to find out how Albert managed to discover his identity but he was not successful. He could live as frustration thinking that there was someone better than him. *** Today was a Saturday and Dylan wanted to go to the museum, although Albert was out of town for business, Velma decided to have fun with her son. Albert had arranged a lot of men to protect her so she knew that she will be safe. She also called Brenda and Nana who readily agreed. As they were having fun, a commotion occurred at the museum pack. There was a gunshot. People started to panic as they moved in different directions, shouting and screaming in fear. Velma was also startled, held her son in her arms and started to run aimlessly. Soon, she had parted from
The news about Velma's video had been taken down and no was talking about it. It was as if it never happened and people marvelled at how powerful the Bill family was. Most of them had been waiting to laugh at Velma after she was thrown out of the family, but they disappointed. At exactly 7AM, Albert's phone rung. I was the same unknown number calling. His lips curled into a smile as he picked up the call. "Hello.." "Hello Mr Albert, I hope you have been great for the past three years." Tom said over the phone. "Of course Mr Tom West, I have been doing great." Albert said, without hiding the fact that he knew the man's identity. Tom's heart almost stopped. How the hell did Albert find out about his identity. He was well hidden and only few people knew of his identity. But his shock did not last for long. "Hehee Mr. Albert, what are you talking about?" Who is Tom West." Tom feigned ignorance but in reality, his heart
Velma was still in disbelief. How could there be such a maniac. She don't remember offending anyone. Why would someone hate her so much? Albert looked at her and embraced her tightly. "What are we going to do?" Velma asked with a trembling voice. She was not ready to lose the love of her life. "We are if course going to be together." Albert said and gave her a reassuring kiss. "But..." Velma tried to say something. Albert blocked her words as he captured her lips. "No buts. Just trust me okay." Albert said. "Okay." "Now go to rest, I still have things to take care of." Albert said as he tucked her in the blanket. "Then can you tell then to bring my son, I what to sleep with him." "Okay." Albert said and left the room. He told aunt Mary to take Dylan to his room before he went to his study room. Although this was his family home, he had his own study room just opposite his bedroom.
Since it was a child's birthday, there was not a lot of speeches. Dylan was taken to be shown to the guests and after cutting the cake, he was taken back to his room since he was already asleep. To entertain the guests, the Bill family had prepared short videos if Dylan when he was growing up. Everyone marvelled at how cute he was even when he was still an infant. "Wow, that child will be a killer once he grows up. He took all his mother's and father's good points." Everyone was amazed. But suddenly, the screen change. The videos of a toddler were replaced by videos of two people doing the unthinkable act that could make one heart race. The sound coming from the video made people to cover their ears. "What is going on? Why would someone play such a video?" "This is too embarrassing. We still have children around." Suddenly a woman's face was shown on the screen. It was breathtaking and the person who was fil
Today marked one year since baby Dylan was born. Everyone was excited since it marked the beginning of a new life in Bill's family. The preparations were ongoing since morning. Although Velma wanted a small party for her baby, Julius did not accept that as he had a lot of friends he wanted to invite. He had also forced Velma and Albert to get a marriage certificate and they were now a married couple although they were yet to hold a wedding. Dylan was a little genius and by now he could utter complete sentence. Everyone loved him and doted on him. Especially the Bill's, they spoiled him more than they had spoiled Nana. Nana and Velma were now friends and they could sometimes go shopping together. "How do you feel now that your son is turning a year older?" Brenda asked her friend as she applied make up on her. They were currently at Bill's Manor where the celebration will be taking place. "I feel like an old granny
