"I love u too mum" I whispered

i knew he hit her,I knew my mom so well and I knew that son of a bitch I called a father had beaten her up again.i hated him so much. I turned my head sideways just to make sure no one was watching,and I quickly hid the phone. The thought of my mom being in pain clouded my mind,I wished I was there to protect her.sometimes I felt like I failed her as an only child,but I was vunerable ,I needed to be in school,I needed the scholarship.yea I was one of the lucky scholars who got admitted into Dowen High.i can remember clearly how my mum fought with my dad just to let me school here,I had to agree with my dad at some point ,to school at home, at our village secondary school , because I felt no one would be there to protect mum from his unending torture, but my mum still made sure I accepted the scholarship.infact I am who I am today because of my mother,my dearest mother.

  I stood up from the bed still unable to sleep and walked to the window . I was still enjoying the breeze and the night sky when my eyes suddenly landed on someone's window.i couldn't see the person clearly but I could see the bright light of the laptop in there,*who could that be *i thought 

"And that's it for today's class" Mr.Fortune finally rounded up the lesson, though I didn't give it my full attention ,I could tell the math was interesting.i was still thinking about mum and also stupidly about Ivan cus he wasn't in class today.

  As soon as Mr.Maxwell left, I quickly walked out of the class heading to the boys dormitory , of course I still wanted to know who it was that had a laptop.my initial plan was to ask Ifeanyi about it but he wasn't in class as well ,he was called to the admistrative block earlier .I walked into the block ,it was so quiet since everyone was in their various classes, I went straight upstairs cus I knew that was where it could be . Ivan was not in school today and I was already suspecting him.  one by one I checked all the rooms to see the one that faced my room directly.i checked all till I got to the second to last room. I slowly opened the door and walked in,just to see a room that was so different from the rest,the king-size bed, the painting, the curtains, everything was so different and beautiful,I didn't know when a wow excaped my lips.i looked at the window and saw it didn't face directly to my window " it isn't it" I said to myself

"I thought the gate was your stop" I heard a familiar voice speak behind me.how couldn't ive thought of it,  it wasitasit was Ivan's room.

"Did you miss me too much that you had tobreak the rule " he said now standing in front of me,damn those abs, he's so handsome, a orange towel was tied around his waist ,andthe smirk on his face made him look like a perfect Greek god, just that he's dark in complexion.

"You could've atleast wore a shirt before co-co-coming out"I stuttered now looking down.

"And you could've at least knocked before coming in,what if I was naked" he responded

"Thankfully you weren't" I said 

"It's just third day of school and you're already missing classes" I continued as I watched him put on a shirt

"Yea,I had a stomach ache ,so I decided not to go " he said , I could tell he was lying cus he looked perfectly fine to me

"Story for the god's" I replied

"You , what are you doing here" he suddenly asked, fixing his brown eyes on mine *gosh I had almost forgotten what brought me here* I muttered

"Well, well, um u..." I couldn't speak normally with his eyes fixed on me like that, what the fuck is wrong with me

"Adure, those aren't words , and only people with bad intentions stammer while speaking. So did you come to steal here??"

"No way" I replied vehemently, "I mean what could someone possibly steal from you"

"Really" he scoffed

"Yea I know, I know that was a dumb question, anyone would even want to steal the room on its own sef" I admitted

"Hmmmn, thank God you know'' he said

"So I ask again, what are you doing here ''

"Um um,I was just checking all the rooms if everyone was in class" thank goodness this lie quickly popped up in my head, cus I didn't want to tell him the real reason.

"Hmmm , fair enough" he mouthed turning his head sideways,and that was when I noticed there was soap in his hair

"Hey what are you gawking at" he asked

"There's soap on your hair" I said pointing at it

"What do you mean, I checked myself at the bathroom's mirror before I came out and I didn't see a thing"

"Well maybe that's because you are too blind to see it" I responded. 

"Zip it ugly" he shot a glare at me and walked into the bathroom.

"Phew"I let out a deep sigh and started walking towards the door ,just as I stepped out,I heard a very loud scream

"Uglyyyyyyyy" I heard again.wait

"Ivan" I screamed as I ran back into the room, straight to the bathroom

"Ivan what's wrong" I called again when I saw him

"I've got soap in my eyes" he said. I  couldn't help but laugh ,he looked so cute with his eyes closed and hands hanged in the air trying to reach out to me

"Over here bat" I giggled

"Are you really laughing at me right now , come help me" he whined

"Oh please stop being such a baby" I laughed again as I held his hands leading him to the tap .I opened it and let some water out in which I used to wash his face, infact i washed hls whole head cus he'd had soap all over, then I cleaned it dry with a towel ., But big baby still had his eyes closed

"You can open your eyes now" I said , he batted his lashes and slowly and let them open . i couldn't stop staring, suprisingly he too was staring at me . it was as if time stopped the moment we locked eyes . he started moving his head slowly towards mine *what was he about to do * I thought, I wanted to move but I just couldn't ,my eyes still fixed on his. Suprising he moved pass my lips and rested on my ears "hey ugly,you still owe me a tour" he whispered ,his closeness was doing something to me ,I didn't just know .I just quickly opened the door and ran out of the room. I couldn't take it anymore,damn I hated the way he made me feel
