Chapter 5

The sun was peeking in my window the moment that I tried to open my eyes. My body is aching all over and I don't feel like moving. I tried to search for my phone in my side table and looked at the time. 7:30 in the morning.

"Shit! I'm late!" I hurridly stood up and went to the kitchen to brew my coffee and went to the bathroom to start preparing for work. I should be in the office by 8am. 

I saw a sms notification from Annie saying that she is buying breakfast for both of us. Thank the Lord for Annie. I don't know what will happen to me if I don't have her.

I did not mind my aching body and proceeded to my morning rituals. I grabbed the first long sleeve and trousers that I could find and put on my shoes. I grabbed my blazzer and my coffee and hurried to my car. It's quarter to eight and the office is not that far from here. I'm going to make it.

I saw Annie as soon as I arrived in the front door. I parked my car in my spot and hurridly went to her.

"You are almost late Miss Gab." She pointed out.

"My body aches so badly. Thanks for the dinner, by the way. How much do I owe you?" I said while tapping my ID in the reception area. 

"What dinner?" She said with her perplexed look.

"Last night. The delivery?" I replied trying to remember if that wasn't a dream.

"I did not send dinner last night, Miss Gab. I was waiting for an order from you but you did not message me so I figured you made dinner at home." She said while pressing the elevator.

"So who sent those food? They were paid prior." I wondered about it for a while but then forgot about it later that day because I had tons of work to do.

We went for lunch at a korean restaurant and was having a good time when I spotted a car across the street looking directly at me. The man in the car slightly panicked when I saw him. He closed his window and drove off. It was weird. Is my dad sending men to spy again? I asked him already to stop doing that. Maybe I should talk to him about that again.

"Hey, Gab!" I went back to my senses when Thalia called me. I did not notice that the food is here already.

When we finished the meal, they were talking and laughing but my mind wasn't there in the topic. I just keep on smilling and nodding until they decided to go back to work. 

"Hey. Are you okay? Is something bothering you?" Thalia asked, worried about the fact that my presence is a bit out of ordinary.

"There's this guy..." I said and everyone stopped walking.

"A guy? You mean a bachelor?" Bea asked trying to gossip.

"Yeah. I went home with him that night. And well..."

"Oh my ghad. The polo shirt and Gucci guy?!" Tracy added excitedly.

"Gucci guy?" I asked. Is he some kind of a model?

"He looks expensive when we saw him talking to you." Bea replied.

"Uhm yah. The thing is, something happened and one thing led to a another." I said and all of their eyes widened and they jumped with excitement.

The elevator in front of us opened and I was waiting for them to leave since they have stations to monitor but they hop in the elevator as well, waiting for me to spill.

"Okay fine. Don't be too excited! It was a one night thing. I don't know his name and he walked out of me the next morning. I don't know his name or anything. Because like I said, it was one night thing." I said and answered few questions. They seem a bit disappointed. They thought I would start dating. They wish haha.

I continued to work until one notification appeared on my phone. It's a reminder of my OB appointment 2 weeks from now. I told Annie to clear out my schedule for that day.

It is almost 6pm when Annie spoke in the intercom.

"Miss Gab, your uhm.. brother is here" she said in a very uncomfortable way.

"Send him in. Easton, stop flirting with my secretary!" I replied.

"Hey sis!" East said as soon as he entered my office.

"You are scaring her." I pointed out.

"Oh trust me. With this face, no girl will ever be scared." He said and winked at me.

"Do you realize you're bugging me and disturbing me in my workplace?" I frowned at him.

"And I miss you too" He said trying to project his playful smile.

"What do you want?" I asked him in my serious tone.

"Come home. Mom is worried. Dad is bugging me. West wants me to remind you about your check up. Everyone is disturbing me to disturb you. They really miss you. Mom was hoping you'd check out the villa in Canada that they purchased under your name. Your real one." He said trying to get me to come home.

"Look. I have no reason to date and marry. I can't have a child. I told Dad about it." I said.

"That's why mom is communicating with the boards to conduct a clinical trial about this. They are tryin, Gabby. Give them time. We can figure this out. You are dad's princess. You know that." He said trying to convince me.

"I'll come home. I'll try to." I surrender.

"Okay. Wanna have dinner?" He asked while wearing his victory smile.

We had our dinner and he sent me in my condo. 

"Tell mom I'm okay and I'll call her soon. Tell West I'll see him in 2 weeks. And tell dad to stop sending men to look after me." I smiled and hugged him.

"Be safe, okay?" He said and I just nodded.

He let me enter the building and went home too. It was a very tiring day for me. I went to shower and let myself indulge with ice cream and a movie until I felt sleepy. I went to bed, hoping that tomorrow will be a great day for me.
