Israel's POV

"We need to find a way, Matt. We can't just let this matter go."

I tried to stay calm as much as possible because that is how I should behave in any situation, especially during this time. Gwen is still missing, and the fear inside me is starting to build again. But this time, it's different. I didn't know where she could be or what was happening to her. The only thing I knew for sure was that I wouldn't be able to bear it if something happened to her.

I've been lingering for his response, but he remained silent, staring at me with an unreadable expression. This silence was the most uncomfortable part of our conversation. His lack of answer made me feel uneasy and uncertain, almost as if there was something more he wanted to say, but he didn't know how.

"Did you check Ace's residence?"

"How 'bout the Ladezco?"

He didn't respond but looked troubled by something I could not define.

"I'm talking to you, Matt. Can you please listen for goddamn three seconds?"

Israel's POVWe decided to visit the Ladezco, and while striding through the forest, we were still searching for Gwen. Every spot and corner had been checked, but there was no sign of her. It was starting to get dark out as we sauntered along, our eyes constantly scanning everything in front of us, even if it meant someone else would have to step on a fallen branch."Hey, Matt. Did Gwen say something before she vanished?" I queried as we continued walking. "Maybe we could use it as a substantial clue, like where she went or when." He looked at me with his usual deadpan expression, but there was concern in his eyes. I think he understood what I wanted to hear. "I'm sorry, but she didn't say anything. ""You must be careful next time, Matt. What you did is understandable. But your actions cannot be tolerated because you've done it tactlessly," Filomena said from beside him. The sadness in her eyes seemed to intensify. And, of course, Gwen was her young sister, and to feel worried about

A dark spell is underneath his body, which means she was controlling him," Hailey explained. She then walked toward the bookshelf, picking up one from its place. She turned and handed it to Filimena with a frown plastered on her face, "It should be here."Filomena took the book with a curious expression while reading a paragraph written in cursive handwriting. She glanced back at Hailey before she opened it, "Did you read this too?""Of course. And the answers regarding your current matter are written there. You will know where is the silver tunnel, the right way to enter the Paradise of Zaphara," Hailey explicated, which earned a satisfying grin from us. "But you're done reading this book. Why don't you just disclose the location instead? So we don't need to waste our time trying to find the silver tunnel in this book," Matt complained."You're bein

I wasn't stupid to know such a tactless man in this land." Matt's expression was hard and unfriendly as he continued. "What do you want?""I'm here to make an offer. An offer that will grant whatever you desire," Valir explained. "But please accept first our apologies. We didn't mean to scare your little girl.""Well, you did," I intervened. "You were forcing her to join you to do something frivolous. If you're just gonna do the same thing to us, just leave.""Watch your mouth, boy. You don't know what you're saying. Don't provoke me that way.""You started the mess. I'm just ending it."Valir sighed after hearing my words as if forcing himself to stay collected, even if the displeased reaction could be viewed in his eyes. "I'll make it straight now. Israel's POV"Ready?" Filomena asked after fixing herself and waiting for us to finish our preparation."Yup," I replied as I nodded.Soon Matt left his room, clearly prepared to execute our plan. We all gathered in the living room, well-organized and ready for whatever could come of our mission. "You will not go outside, Cassandra. Understand?" I looked severely at my sister. She's smart but still needs to gain magic skills because of her young age. Besides, I cannot let her entangle in any trouble that might occur. "Don't fret too much, brother. I won't.""Behave yourself, okay? And always remember my words," I warned with a stern look. Her smile only answered me with an angelic wave of the hands, a sign that she would obey me.After a short moment, Hailey and Kiro walked in our direction."No worries, Israel. She is safe here." Hailey put her arms around Cassandra's waist, making my sister smile in gratefulness."Thank you." I hurled a warm smile at the couple, which elicited th

Israel's POVThey are all witches wearing black robes, their faces covered in dark makeup, making them look like they are about to do some death ritual. Before they could make a move, though, I quickly changed into a human form and let the pair of my eyes control the wind as I made it blow around them until their heads snapped forward so that they fell onto the ground.I glanced at Matt and Filomena and motioned them to run until they were far away from them. When I heard another approaching step which I assumed came from more than one creature, I ran over the giant trees and concealed myself.I scrutinized every spot on the floor where a figure might be hiding and finally found a tree close to the barrier that would afford me a better view.As soon as I reached the trunk, however, a sense of witch power filled the air around me, and I felt an overwhelming pressure that nearly brought me to my knees, but I managed to stand tall and continue watching from the other side the barrier.

Israel's POV She raised her hand, cast me a black smoke, and shrouded my whole body. It made my lungs seize up, my eyes burn, and it was suffocating. It was choking me. I tried to shout, but no sound came out of my throat. Everything around me disappeared. It seemed that this thick smoke surrounded me. I was trapped in a very dark place in my little world. To fight with her, I forced myself to release my magic; unfortunately, it only served to bring me even more pain. It's too hard to bear. And when I can't take it anymore, I let myself fall into darkness. ***** The sound of laughter rang through the air, and it was honestly too vexing. My eyes fluttered open only to witness such a hideous view I never wanted to catch again. But here I am, standing before this terrible view. I was standing in a pitch-black room, illuminated only by flickering greenish light. The smell of rotting flesh wafted toward me, and I didn't know where the stench was coming from. When I tried to move,

Israel's POV"Cassandra?"Her hands were trembling when she lifted her gaze to me, and the next second she ran up to me and hugged me. "Brother!"I hugged her back until I suddenly felt her tears on my shirt. She buried herself deep into my embrace while her shaking body kept hugging me. She didn't utter a single word since then. "Why are you crying?""I thought you were dead!" she cried out. It was the first time I saw her crying like that, so I was surprised by her sudden outburst. "I'm sorry. But I'm here now. Don't fret, my Lil sis. Let's talk about your magic. So you've accumulated your true magic, have you?" I patted her hair in hopes of calming her down so we could talk adequately later. ""You got it, brother. That's why I went here. You made me worried," her last words put sadness in her eyes. "You saved me." I smiled. "And I'm proud you have it already. You know, I thought I was gonna die. Luckily, you came.""You've sacrificed a lot for me. Thanks, Brother. I promise tha

Gwen's POV It's already afternoon, and I am not in a good mood since morning. I tried to touch the necklace that Lily had given me last time, but no scenario came out. My eagerness to glimpse my family and friends is so great that I can't calm myself down enough to focus on anything other than brooding. While I was in the middle of my contemplation, someone tapped my shoulder from behind enough to rouse me from my reverie. "Hey, Gwen," she said with an apologetic smile, "Lady Catheleia sent me to get you for an essential discussion." "Oh, okay. Thanks," I replied absent-mindedly, staring blankly out into the distance as if she wasn't there in front of me. "Tell her I'll be there in a minute." "Something wrong?" she asked, concerned. "Are you okay?" she reached her hand out to grab mine but then thought better and dropped it when I started flinching at her touch. After some seconds, I asked, "Do we have somewhere more private where we could talk?" "Is it all about your famil

Gwen's POV I shifted into a silver werewolf and attacked the first vampire who tried to come close to me. For every attempt of an enemy toward me, I snapped his neck with one of my claws until blood flowed freely down his throat. There was no way I would go after them without getting at least a couple of hits. I could not count how many foes I had killed today, but each one left me satisfied in ways that nothing else could. I glanced to the right side and saw my parents, Vera with Valir, fighting off five vampires at once, using their claws to slash their throats open as quickly as if they were swatting mosquitoes away. On the other side, I saw the Packs, Israel, and the other witches fighting off another group of enemies. The fairies were helping out with the battle on their end as well. The shield they were casting toward us was impenetrable against any magical attack. And it was also holding back all of the attacks and then throwing them back to the enemies. The war conti

Valir was taken aback as if he couldn't believe that his wife is finally here in front of him. He walked toward her and caressed her face with his warm hands. "Oh god... you're alive." Vera smiled at her husband, who is now looking down on her. She wrapped her arms around Valir's neck and kissed him passionately. The tears began to form again, as Valir can feel Vera's soft lips on his and can't help but kiss back passionately, wrapping his arms around her waist tightly. After a few minutes of a passionate kiss, the couple slowly parted. Both were out of breath. Vera wiped away her tears, looked at her husband lovingly, and whispered, "Who made this?" Valir pointed at me with a smile, tears of joy were visible in their eyes and I could not help but feel happy for both of them. "Gwen granted my favor. She resurrected you," Israel explained. Suddenly, Valir amb

Before I could accompany him, my parents and Israel talked to me first. They are worried but the witches and fairies suggested that Valir's intention was real. And I have to give a shot to end this battle with no one being harmed or killed. Afterward, the fairies, watches, and Israel decided to come with me to ensure that Valir and his companions would not gonna hurt her. I know they all are worried for me. They also know there was another way to end this war. And that is to do this man's favor. Currently, we were walking into the forest surrounded by numerous huge trees that seemed to be ancient. The air around us was not polluted but somehow different from the usual forest. We walked slowly as the gust of wind blew at us gently. It didn't seem to bother us but the forest itself was weirdly quiet. I could sense a stink in th

Gwen's POV"My wife is dead, and I want to resurrect her."The moment Valir said those words, I felt sad for him, not only because he lost a woman who meant the world to him, but also because of the bitter fact that he chose to become evil. "You want her back?" I asked him as I strode a few steps. He nodded. "Then why do you have to kill numerous innocent creatures in this land? Why do you have to watch in your own eyes how hard they suffer? Why do you keep spreading cruelty when there's a way to become one of us!""That's the only way to resurrect my wife! You know nothing about my pain!""I know your pain. I lost someone because of you! I lost my sister and my best friend!" I yelled with all anger as I remembered everything. Gwen's POVIn just an instant where we emerged outside my house. The view that greeted us was too unexpected.Everyone was having a massive fight with our enemies. "Gwen! Careful in every way!" Israel warned before he attacked the black werewolves. He is a half-witch and half werewolf but he prefers fighting in a human form where he can use his magic to kill.I scanned the entire surrounding and realized that even my parents were currently in a fight. The enemy is many, and I couldn't count them all by hand. They're running around everywhere, making everything worse.I hide behind the thick bush and quickly transformed into my silver wolf form. I ran at full speed towards where they were fighting. In just a blink of an eye, I'm among them and immediately attacked the wolves attacking Rini. Since I am silver, I can take out three or four of the enemies. One of the remaining creatures decided it was time to attack my father and so I dashed and jumped on him. I bit down on his neck wit

Gwen's POV"I wanna show you something to you, Gwen. If you're into it, close your eyes."My curiosity became even more heightened with the mention of what could happen. My heart started beating faster and the cold air around me started to become chilly as well. This was it. I closed my eyes and waited. After the briefest second had passed I felt someone's hand taking mine and guiding me. "Don't open unless I say so.""Sure."We stopped moving for about ten seconds. Some noises echoed around us in the air. The sound of a peaceful night where birds chirped at the moon's reflection off the calm lake water. My eyes were still closed but my lips curled into a moon crescent."Now, open your eyes."My eyes immediately opened. We were no longer standing outside the house. Instead, we were standing in a place completely different from anything I'd ever seen. It looked like we were in an underground cavern or a cave under a rock somewhere. Everything seemed extremely bright as if a light bul

  • Tempting the Silver Werewolf   Chapter 118. Curiosity

Gwen's POVHere I am outside the house, conversing with my allies. The Aqua Rune Pack, fairies, witches, and the other subordinates who support us in this messy journey of mine. The truth that I'd been hiding for quite a long time was now revealed. All of them knows I was a silver werewolf and my blood can both heal and kill. This ability was given to only a few creatures and despite its advantage of it, I can't help but feel guilty especially with the fact that this ability failed to save my sister. For the very first time in my history, I felt like mucky trash because of that. But all I could do to make my sister happy was to keep fighting and be the best version of myself. While we were occupied chatting with one another, one of the fairies floated in the air as if she needs to convey important matters."Another battle will soon break out between us and vampires" she began. "We need to be vigilant."I was stunned to hear those declarations and another pang struck me in the chest.

Gwen's POVIt was early in the morning when I woke up and got up from bed to start my day. I glanced at my side only to see that Alpha wasn't here with me. Soon as my gaze diverted to the bedside table next to where I was lying on it I could see a glass of water sitting there along with a note written in her messy cursive. 'Good morning. You must have been tired since you first encountered the real life of a silver werewolf, so I didn't wake you up. You've done so many things for us and me. It's my turn, my luna. I love you.'I gasped lightly feeling a lump form in the back of my throat before wiping away my tears. I sat up and grabbed the glass of water and gulped it down without hesitation. After putting the empty glass back on the side table.Where did he go?I walked out and went to the kitchen downstairs. "Good morning, sweetheart." mom approached and kissed me on the forehead. Gwen's POVTwo have passed ever since my sister was killed by one of our greatest foes. I don't feel anything other than the sorrow of losing someone so dear to me and I know that my parents feel the same pain as well. The exact scene of how the black werewolf slain her was still vivid in my mind like a nightmare and if it's just a dream, then I want to wake up. But it isn't. She's dead and now there is nothing left for me but grief and the guilt I've been carrying around with me. Every time I recollected our memories together, it always brought up fresh tears that would fall from my eyes and I didn't even bother wiping them away. I just wanted to relish everything even if that means torturing myself with the fact that it was just a memory that will not be able to happen again. I couldn't help but blame myself for what happened because I knew that I should have done something to save her but I was so dumb. I tried my very best to heal her that time but it didn't work.
