14. Jealousy

"Men. Ugh. Why are they all such bastards?!"

The woman in the white dress then gulped down the dark liquid in her glass, emptying it in just a few sips.

She didn’t care if the intoxicating drink would rob her of her senses, especially after downing her fifth glass.

Kia pouted, sighing heavily as she rested her face in her hands on the bar counter. Her mind drifted back to the photo of a beautiful pregnant woman she had seen on Byan’s desk.

"I guess I should just stop hoping because this is all so exhausting," she mumbled, her blurry gaze fixed on her now-empty glass.

Kia felt so foolish, thinking Byan would be different from that jerk Alex. But it turned out, Byan was even worse.

Kia's brown eyes blinked slowly as she thought of that handsome face. Come to think of it, it made sense that Byan would be worse than Alex. He was a gigolo and ridiculously attractive.
