Doors to the party events room bust open with a frantic Michelle yelling " Finally! I was going crazy not having anyone to talk to!" " Really Michelle.... You were going crazyyyy! Not having anyone to talk to, in a room full of people!" I say rolling my eyes at her and copying the look off her face! "Shut it Artic! You know what I mean! My family is crazy!"
Shawn just stands there shaking his head watching us with a small smirk playing in the corner of his mouth. After what seems like an eternity, Michelle calms down slightly. Shawn and I both give her a hug and wish her a "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" In a sing song voice. We soon tail behind her going through the brown pine doors into the events room, as she leads us over to the table that we will be joining her and her family at.
Michelle's family was quite big averaging about fifty to sixty family members at a time, gathering at family events and birthdays. Her family was of the gamma ranking. Which meant her father was third in line to run our pack if anything happened to the Alpha or beta. Given that, they were of a somewhat pretty strong bloodline, made their family tree really extensive and quite crazy unbearable at times.
As we go to move around the table to sit.. We hear two soft giggles behind us. I already knew it was Summer and Brooklyn Mayfield. Two of Michelle's most rambunctious cousins. These two were the definition of two peas in a pod and were totally in love with Shawn! Brooklyn was the oldest by a year between the two girls. So being the older of the pair at age nine. She always felt the need to take the lead in grabbing one of Shawn's hands first, giggling as she does with Summer following suit. " Shawn will you come dance with us please." A small voice so quiet, I'm sure that none of us would have heard it coming from Summer if it wasn't for our wolf hearing. A big sweet smile appeared on Shawn's face as he said " Yes! My beautiful princesses, I would love to!" Followed by two squealing girls in excitement, dragging our 6'6 friend across the room to the dancing floor.
Michelle and I sat at the table crunching on some sour cream and cheddar chips. That had been placed in the center of each table, with green onion or ranch dip, sitting at the side. While scanning the room full of Michelle's large family. I felt her hand clasp over mine tightly! I look up, following her gaze to be met back with handsome rugged features. " He came! I can't believe it! Cole is here Artic!" she whipsers next to me, in an excited rush tone.
She has been head over heels for Cole sense the first day, she saw him in our biology science class and I truly understand why! He was the total package of tall, dark and handsome. He had that bad boy vibe for days. Even though he was actually very respectful and polite. Cole Michael's stood at 6'7, ash blonde hair, rippling muscles with that wash board stomach and the most captivating emerald green eyes with perfect long eyelashes.
Michelle's grip only tightens more on mine as Cole, makes his way over to our table. His deep husky voice rang out. Wishing Michelle a "Happy Birthday!" Which only made her breathing pick up! At the sound of him talking. Michelle politely said " Thank you " with a shy blush creeping along her cheeks. Cole stood there thinking, before breaking the awkward silence, by asking her " If she would like to dance." I swear if I wasn't sitting next to her. She would have fainted right out of her chair!
I nudged her in the leg, under the table to break her out of whatever love sickin daze she was in. Cole had started to look nervous waiting for her response. Michelle suddenly jumped up from her seat! Kind of yelling "Yes of course! I would love to dance with you!" I laughed inwardly, as her cheeks got bright red from realizing how loud she had answered him. Apparently it didn't faze Cole one bit, as he lowly chuckled and said "Great!" while offering her his hand.
I sat at the table alone munching on some more sour cream and cheddar chips. Watching Shawn dance with Brooklyn and Summer taking turns. Trying, to do the stanky leg. Smiling, as I saw Cole whisper something in Michelle's ear, making her blush. Sometimes by the way Cole looks at her. I wonder if he already knew that they could be mates. He seemed almost just as love strickin with her, as she was with him.
He was eighteen already maybe he could possibly feel the pull of the mate bond. Even though it was quite rare! There have been times when one was of age and around their mate that wasn't yet. That they could still feel a small tug of needing and want to be closer to them.
A low rumbling in my stomach. Broke my train of thoughts. Seems these chips aren't satisfying this hunger that's growing. I stood up from the table, speed walking, making my way over to the snack table that was covered in a variety of of small snack foods like miniature club sandwiches, club crackers, wheat thins, ritz crackers, cheese it's and a mixture of cheeses, asiago, mozzarella, swiss and sharp cheddar. There was a small portion of the table that looked like it had been ran sacked. Which I'm pretty sure was from Michelle's little cousins, considering this part of the table appeared to have sweet desserts at one point in time. There was still a few rembrandts of chocolate brownies, oatmeal raisin cookies and chocolate chip cookies.
I was about to stuff my face like a pig with the miniature sandwiches. When I heard Michelle's mother's voice call out over the group of people announcing that dinner will be served shortly. Like our eyes had magnets searching for each other. Michelle and I connect our glance to one other. Both having nothing but a look of satisfaction. That soon our craving for that delicious roasted chicken will be satisfied even if it's only for the evening. I am the first seated. Followed by Michelle and Cole then Shawn, Michelle's mother Linda, father Samuel and her three younger brothers Marcus, Brighton and Joshua.
The triplets are the most polite, mannerful ten year olds you will ever meet! They have this aura around them of nothing but kindness. While most boy pups are out playing in the forest getting muddy and scraped up. These three preferred to be in complete order from top to bottom without any trance of stains or smudges any where. Even after they eat. Which is highly surprising do to the fact that their older sister is one of the messiest people I know! Well at least in the comfort of her own home. In public, you would never think this girl could have a room. That looks like a tornado is reeking havoc everyday!
Linda asks " What are the three of you planning after dinner?" Michelle shrugs her shoulders and Shawn chimes in "Actually we were invited to go hangout up at the waterfalls after dinner by April. " Michelle scrunched her face, but the look of annoyance, is replaced by a smile of excitement because she knows what the falls mean. "Yes that would be amazing! I would really enjoy an evening swim." She says with a smirk on her face. Michelle turns to Cole and asks " Would you like to join us after dinner and hangout some more together?" Cole's face forms an ear to ear grin as he nods his head yes eagerly! With his chipmunk like cheeks full of the roasted chicken and gleaming eyes, rumbles are heard around the table from us glancing at his appearance.
Soon after dinner was finished. Michelle had started opening all her gifts from her family and other friends. My present was the last to be set in front of her. I had, had to keep it at her house with her parent's because my brothers would have opened it and then lost it somewhere. My brothers were horrible at keeping secrets and not touching things that weren't theirs, even at there ages of twenty-two and twenty-five. Sitting here watching her slowly pull the purple ribbon from the rectangular box. Waiting for that giggly squeak that would soon follow after she had opened it. Revealing the twenty-four karat white gold necklace, speckled with small diamonds, ajured with hearts clasping around a small picture in the middle.
Everyone suddenly pauses in silence as tears slowly fell from Michelle's beautiful golden honey brown eyes. I scooted closer to her, only to have her jump at me into a tight hug as she sobbed on my shoulder saying " Thank you! Thank you so much! This is the best gift I could have ever received! I thought all the photos of her had been lost and destroyed in the fire." Cole's father had been the one who found it while cleaning up after the fire had burnt down Michelle's grandmother's home.
Unfortunately her grandmother didn't survive. She had gotten trapped under the pillars of the house as it came crashing down on her. She didn't have enough strength to push them off of her at her elderly age. What's more sad is during this time, no one had realized what happened until it was to late! The attack hadn't been of great magnitude. But enough that we lost ten members to the witches who had started the fire.
I hugged her even tighter and said " There's no better place for this then next to your heart!" The photo was of Michelle and her grandmother picking strawberries. It was something they did together each year sense she was five years old. This photo was the last one taken of them together the year before the attack. She was nine at that time.
We started our rounds around the room saying goodbye to all of Michelle's family and friends, before the four of us left to trail off to the North West entrance of the forest to the waterfalls.
I love going this way through the forest, theres so much more vegetation growing on this side of the land. The trees seem greenier and more full of life, like it's constantly springtime in this area. There are many other paths leading up to the waterfalls and going this way is an extra ten minutes on top of the usual twenty-five... but going this way is absolutely worth it!Shawn and Michelle always bared the extra time for me knowing it's my second favorite place and especially when we all get to peer across the countless beauty of the moon glory flowers. They only open up during the night and when the moon is at it's fullest and brightest. The field looks like its, littered with stars across the forest floor. The moonlight reflects off the white of the flowers just perfectly causing an ethereal glow in the dark. The glowing white light with its sweet smell of honey suckle causes you to feel heavenly in a dreamy wonderland. I could sit there for hours just marveling in it's
Ian and I stand up quickly! Running down towards the last area we seen Shawn hanging out with April. As we get closer we see Shawn flying in the air into the water! Making a huge tidal wave splashing out covering April head to toe in water! Causing her to cuss and glower at Trenton, before he pushes her in backwards! " Oh my God Trenton! Why did you do that to April!" Jessica yells! She goes to help her friend climb out of the water, only to be pushed in herself! Along with April again by Trenton!Trenton was the most mischievous person we all knew and had ever met. You had to walk on egg shells around him, cause you never knew what was going to happen with him near you. He could be calm and collective or out right an ass and he didn't care at who's expense it was! As long as he was having fun! I hear Shawn calling him a "Dick!" as he climbs out of the water. Shawn turns to Trenton and says " Better watch your back bro!" Trenton just waves his hands in the air like brin
"Artic, I'm going to go check out the triplets secret hide out first, make sure they aren't hiding from our parents, trying to get a glimpse of the fight and then make my way up by the library." I hear Michelle say through the mind link. "Okay, I will meet you at the library after I check out the day care and school. After we meet up, we can head towards the outer neighborhoods making our way towards the safe houses.""April, Jessica can you two please head to the strip mall to check the stores out, making sure no one is hiding in the stores and then head to the gazebos by the Palace. Hopefully Sam didn't take one of his nap breaks and is sleeping through the breach!"That teenage boy could sleep through an air raid like it was an everyday occurrence... "Ughh.. Sure Sar-aah... Even though I should be giving you orders! Given I out rank you!!" " April right now it's not about Rank! It's about making sure members of OUR! pack are safe!"" Yeah, whatever!, le
I come crashing down ontop of the book shelf. Groaning from the impact on my right shoulder. Moving as fast as I can, I dart my way back through the shelves of books heading to the front of the library. Trying to get him as faraway from Michelle and Mrs. Honey for there chance to flee. The Vampire's voice echos through the air " You can run all you want little wolfie, but you can't hide from me!" Fast paced foot steps can be heard on the the wood flooring, followed by another loud crash of shelves falling into one another. I'm about to make a dash through the heavy bronze doors. When I am hit from the side sending me flying into the dark brown oak tables. I hear a low menacing " Tsk, Tsk, little wolfie, I thought you came to play with me...?" Jumping to my feet, I raise my eyes to meet his. Once our gaze is locked upon each other, it's as if a jolt of electricity runs through my body paralyzing all my movements. I watch as what I felt course through my body, start
Ian had found me sleep walking through our town, while he was walking home from border patrol that night. He called out to me only to have his words fall on deaf ears. So he followed me until I finally came to a stop, standing in the exact spot he had found me in a few days before in the library. Staring in the direction of the back door. Approaching me, calling my name once more, to try and wake me from the illusion I was in, only to be met with tears of panic, falling from my artic blue eyes, screaming " I can't find you! Where are you!? I'm here! Please just come back!"Ian told me, he held me closer then he ever had in the past, trying to sooth the sorrow that leaked from my body, shaking and swallowing me to my core. But those words he spoke never found the relief they were intended to give. Nothing seemed to take away the pain and sadness I was being consumed from. I would cry until I fell into unconsciousness. He carried me back to my room, placing me on my bed e
Those beautiful artic blue eyes, are all I see everytime I close my own. They are the most magnificent shade of blue I have ever seen in my life. I have looked into so many different colors of eyes, on so many faces. But none as unique as hers. Those beautiful orbs dug deeper and deeper into my soul with every lasting stare. Her euphorious voice when she told me her name "Sarah" my mind sings out to me. The beautiful she wolf my dreams invade me with. One month has come and gone sense I laid my eyes upon her, in that old dusty library. I crave to feel her soft, smooth skin below my finger tips, to be close to her again. To breath in her intoxicating scent once more of sweet honey suckle and blue berries.I am trapped between the North Eastern border of her pack and much to close to the edge of the White elves forest. My sister and I found this secret tunnel. We were running as fast as we could getting ready to cross over the border of the wolves territory. When it was l
Books and more books, is all that seems what my life has become. Ughh! I have read sooo many scriptures about vampires that at times the words on the pages, turn into one big jumbled up mess as I'm reading. I've gone as far fetched as reading stories about them having glow in the dark fangs. Even searching through the internet. I clicked on anything my browser popped up with that had the word vampires in it. All this reading and searching seems futile. The only book I haven't looked over is, the one on vampires and their mates. What could I possibly read in there, that has anything to do with me. Mates of different species was hardly ever heard of and if by chance it came about. Almost instantly they would reject each other, because of differences in life styles and long lasting fueds stemming from hundreds of years ago. There's no way he could be my mate right? Could he? I ask myself... Arghh! This whole situation is making me go bonkers literally!I hardly sle
I spun in my chair, turning away from Ian, it was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I know now, that what we had was never true love. But contempment, just buying our time from the inedible. We weren't ment to be together forever. You don't run away from those you truly love, when things get hard. You stay and figure it out with each other.Ian sat there and begged me to say anything to him. To scream and shout at him, to show him just how angry I was with him. He said " He would rather me, tell him to fuck off and die, instead of nothing, no glances, no words, just utter silence."What Ian didn't know was, I wasn't mad at him anymore. I was filled with complete sadness. Hurt from being left alone, when I needed him most. Tear strucked with sorrow of what the future might hold for us moving forward. I don't know if I'll ever be able to forgive him for letting me go through all this on my own. When all I wanted was to be held by him, my rock, the one pers
Ian stood there silently grasping my arm, quickly pulling me against his chest pressing me tighter into him. Even after I had told him all I wanted was just to be alone. " Please Ian, I need some room to breathe, I feel like I'm being crushed by the world around me, with everyone staring at me like that. I need to be alone right now, whether you agree with me or not." I begged him. We both stood there, quietly taking in each others warmth; before he reluctantly loosened his grip from around my torso, letting me push pass him and walk out the door. I was going to tell everyone about my dream?? or vision?? I wasn't sure as what to call it... But, as soon as Elder Lilia started telling me about how these vile creatures were going to keep coming after me, all because I was supposedly one of the chosen ones. I took that as my way out. To fake being upset so I could get away from everyone around me. There was no way I could stay and put everyone in my pack in danger because of me. I needed
Golden light flashed behind my eyes, soon fading away into a light blur of white, as the world around me spun. The feeling of strong hands pulling at something deep within, brought me crashing back into reality, releasing me from the dream state I was in. A few speckles of white light remained, slowing bouncing around my vision as everything surrounding me came into focus once more. My eyes were quickly drawn to the women sitting in front of me, chanting furiously, with her eyes softly closed. My hand shot out on it's own accord, lightly tapping her on her right shoulder. I jumped back into the couch cushion as, Elder Lilia's eyes shot open, apparently feeling the same jolt of electricity I had when my fingers made contact with her shoulder. She sprang forward, encompassing me in her arms, squeezing the air out of me as she " Thanked the Moon Goddess over and over for bringing me back," Alpha Brent's voice boomed over everyone elses across the room, as he quickly made his way to my
Hello everyone, this is S. Jones husband. I do apologize for the very late update, But, as of now my wife is in the hospital again. I just want you all to know she is very thankful you all have stuck it out with her through theses hardtimes and how sorry she feels for everything that hass been happening even though it has all been out of her hands. I watched around me as everyone tried to mask the horror, that spread across all of their faces. Even though, everything was given away within the depths of each of their eyes. I stood up quickly, pushing past Ian as I rushed to the bathroom. Flicking on the light, I caught the glimmer of iciness that coated my cheek, spreading up into my eye socket. There was no way of stopping my hand as it shot up, pressing hard over my mouth as I tired to stifle the scream that tore it's way up my throat and passed my lips. The girl, staring back at me in the mirror, looked broken beyond repair. Hair twisted in knots, as if it had been caught out in the wind all day. My once nice purple long sleeve shirt and jeans now torn and crumpled, like each piece of clothing had been raked against tree after tree, shredding the fibers. Still, the one thing that my left eye couldn't look away from, was the blistering frost bite that ran across the other side of my face, where my once cool artic blue
" Sarah, Sarah, won't you open those eyes of yours? I want to see those beautiful artic orbs, after all they will be mine soon," I hear this scratchy, unnerving voice ask me. Still, no matter how hard I seemed to try to open my eyes, I couldn't. They felt heavy and sticky, like they were glued shut. The sounds of many moving around me, bristled through my ears, making me flinch at the closeness, causing my heart rate to spike with every sound of movement made. I could have sworn each time that I flinched, I could hear some where in the distance the sound of whatever around me laugh, only making me struggle even more to try and open my eyes or move.....? But, I wasn't even sure if I was doing that.... I couldn't feel the rest of where my limbs should be, only my eyes felt heavy and that puzzled me even more to what was happening to me. Flashes of white light danced and bounced around the back of my eye lids, as I listened to the things moving around me. At
I watched as the soft pelt of rain drops splattered against my bedroom window. Leaving behind little squiggles of water, as they slid down the glass. I wasn't aloud to go any furthter then my desk, given what I had been through. I was still having a hardtime staying focus on even the smallest things. My brain felt heavy, like there was a neverending fog floating around inside my skull, leaving me with the feeling like I was never truly awake. The clock on my desk chimed and spun as the ballerina danced, letting me know my brothers would soon be home. I should feel happy that they were finally coming back. But, I couldn't shake this feeling that sat in the pit of my stomach, churning as time grew near. Shawn, had told everyone that he wouldn't discuss anything until they had arrived, letting all the unsaid words speak for themselves. Even the sharpest of knives couldn't cut through the tension in the air that surrounded each of us. A dark cloud was hovering over our h
The buttery light of golden amber rays broke through the tree tops, telling me another day had begun. I sat there purched high above the grassy fields tittering on the edge of the border. My heart sank at not knowing what to do, broken between the choices I needed to make. If I choose to leave now and follow after Captain Darius to pursue my brother in hopes he may still be alive... Then that would leave the border unattended. Allowing my brother's mate to cross and find her way to the death lillies sealing her fate to the darkness. I knew, in my heart, what my brother would want me to do, he would tell me to save her and let him go. Still the voice inside my head was telling me it didn't matter what choice I made because the bond was already established between the two of them and no matter what happened unless one of them rejected the other, their souls were connected bound to the other for life, one could not survive while the other died. Even so, I didn't know who to fin
The smell of dirty water mixed with rusted iron wafted into my nostrils, as I took deep calculating breaths. A slow steady thrum of pain shot through my head, only growing worse with every small drip of water that rapidly tinked from some where inside, making me flinch and cover my ears in hopes of silencing the wretched sound. My body felt like it had been crushed under the weight of a thousand bricks; causing me to dread each minuet movement of my body as I tried to situp. My brain felt heavy with fog as it washed over my mind burying all of my memories within it. As I sat there trying to recall the smallest fragment of where I was and how had even I gotten here? I caught an orange flicker of light dancing from the corner of my eye, shifting my gaze to a glass latern behind the massive iron bars that stood tall and angry with it's sharp flaking edges; that know doubt had been caused by the steady dripping of water I watched spalsh across it's surface causing me to cringe o
