CHAPTER 2 | The Future Luna

A loud bang from the door made us gasp in surprise. It also made me immediately turn my head towards the source of the sound.

The dim light made it impossible for me to clearly see which bastard was making the fuss. It made me very angry. He was interrupting the most important time of my life!

"Damn it, who are you to dare disturb me?!" I shouted angrily.

Without any reply, that bastard stepped quickly towards us. Then, without any sign, he grabbed Kai's shirt and threw him hard to the floor. Making Kai bounce and hit the side of the wall.

I glared at the insolent act.

"Son of a bitch! What the hell are you doing?" I shouted and stood up immediately. Staring angrily at the man who had been insolent.

But my eyes opened even wider when I found out who the bastard who dared to disturb me was. "Zelos?" I muttered.

"Damn it!" I heard Kai swear as he spat.

"You're done messing around, Cara. It's time for you to go home!" Zelos spoke in a low voice. The expressionless face I hated the most.

Without further ado, he dragged me by the hand. He intends to forcefully take me away again, as usual.

"You insolent bastard! Let go my hands, Zelos!" I tried to break free from his grip. But his hand was very strong. It was as if all my bones had been deeply embedded in his large palm.

"Zelos, let go of her hand right now or I'll really kill you!" This time Kai's voice sounded booming.

Zelos also stopped his footsteps. He signaled to his men, who were waiting outside the door of the room.

"How dare you have such audacity to desire our pack's future Luna, Kai? You are one of our great hunters. But you're overstepping your bounds!" Zelos stared intently at Kai. "And do you think you can beat me? Rellay Kai?"

There was no answer from Kai. Before Kai could even make a sound, Zelos's sharp voice rang out again.

"And by command of our Alpha, you shall have your judgment!" Zelos said it coldly and immediately again get me out of this place.

I heard another scream from Kai. Of course, I was struggling even harder to get out of Zelos's grip. Then I saw some of Zelos's warriors starting to surround Kai.

"What are you gonna do to him, Arsehole?! Let my boyfriend alone!" I hit Zelos' arm hard.

There was no answer. Instead, Zelos pulled me even more forcefully. That really made me hurt and very angry.

"LET GO OF ME, YOU ARSEHOLE! I'M THE FUTURE LUNA, AND I COMMAND YOU TO STOP THIS SHIT!"

Alpha Archer was currently reading the news on his tablet. His sharp eyes darkened perfectly, and it was obvious that his jaw was starting to get hard. Because right now Alpha Archer was looking at the news about his daughter, which said that the future Luna of the Sinclaire pack, Carassa Del Sinclaire, was drunk and having a wild party. Behavior that does not reflect the future Luna.

Last night, Cara escaped from the castle and met her wild friends. They had a party and got wildly drunk. There is even a portrait of Cara and a man, who is a hunter from her own pack, entered a room privately.

"Can we control the media about this?" asked Alpha Archer.

"We can still control the media outside our territory, My Lord. But news of your daughter has already spread widely throughout our territory. Our flock knows all the scandals about your daughter," I replied.

I paused my words for a moment. I was unsure of what I was going to report this time. But with my loyalty, I swallowed deeply and reported what I had to report.

I am Zelos Caelestus Cyrus, son of Beta Jackson Cyrus. I am the next Beta candidate, and of course, as a Beta candidate, I must have high loyalty and devotion.

"And many of our council have voiced their disapproval of your daughter being the next Luna, My Lord," I said then. "They are in favor of the next Luna being Celine Sinclaire, the previous Alpha's daughter."

"Are you sure, Zelos?"

"I am sure, My Lord. Our council told me so," I replied calmly, still standing at attention.

"Is your father, Beta Jackson, too?" Alpha Archer raised his head and looked at me.

"Yes, My Lord," I answered honestly.

It was no secret that the daughter of our pack's Alpha, Carassa Del Sinclaire, was someone who liked to cause scandals. She was defiant, stubborn, and childish. Her attitude is so rude and rebellious. So those are the biggest reasons why so many people in our pack rejected Cara as the next Luna.

There were so many times I had to be bothered just to guard the woman who would become the next Luna.

"How is she doing now, Zelos?" asked the Alpha Archer.

"She is fine, My Lord. Right now, Cara is resting in her room," I replied.

"Good," agreed Alpha Archer. "Guard her very closely, Zelos! Tighten the guard, and don't let Cara get out of the castle again. In two days, it will be her of-age ceremony. I don't want this problem to get much more complicated!"

"You have my orders, My Lord."

Alpha Archer nodded in satisfaction with my answer. He asked again, "And that boy?"

"He is already behind bars and taking his punishment right now, My Lord." I reported what happened to Kai, Cara's boyfriend, right now.

Alpha Archer took a long breath. Then he leaned his back on the chair. He closed his eyes slightly as if he were thinking deeply about something.

I could only stand and wait for the orders that would be commanded by Alpha Archer next. Although it didn't last long, Alpha Archer opened his eyes again. Those sharp, cold blue eyes stared at me very sternly.

"Has your father recovered from his injury during the last mission, Zelos?" asked Alpha Archer then.

"He’s still on recovery, My Lord. Thank you for your concern," I replied immediately. "Are there any commands, My Lord?"

"I want you to arrange my meeting with your father tonight, Zelos!" An absolute order came out from Alpha Archer. Making me frown slightly at the order.

But I couldn't ask him the reason. I could only answer obediently.

"Yes, My Lord."
