Summer POV
Ezra kicked the door shut as he dominated my lips. I shrugged out of his hold and locked the door. He grabbed me, picked me up and threw me on the bed. The springs in my mattress cried out.
Marcel ripped his jacket off and the outline of his wolf flashed in his eyes. I felt his desire in the pit of my stomach. He climbed on top of me and my heart threatened to fly out of my chest.
“Hey,” I hissed, placing my hands on his chest.
“Don’t worry about your Dad, he’s drunk out of his mind.”
Ezra grabbed my ass and lifted me off the bed. In a second he flipped me over and I gasped.
His lips found my neck and I leaned into him. This felt wrong. We shouldn’t be doing this in my Dad’s house. He would kill the Alpha if he found out but I didn’t have the strength to push Ezra off.
“Ezra,” I sighed as his lips travelled down my neck.
“You’
Summer POV“Lace with wolf’s bane,” Ezra said, placing a knife in my palm. “Silver bullets.” He pulled out a gun from the duffle bag.“Silver’s illegal! You’re not supposed to have this.”He raised his brow at me. “I’m the Alpha.”“What else do you have in there?”“Enchanted chain, courtesy of Henrietta.”I ran my fingers through the large metal chain. “Am I supposed to use this on my wolf?”“It’s an option mate. You don’t have to worry about anyone else attacking you because I’ll rip anyone who comes near you to pieces. It would be a nice way to blow off some steam.”He reached into the duffle bag but I grabbed his arm. I ran my hands up his biceps. He pulled me close and breathed me in.“Thank you,” I whispered.“Don’t.”&ldqu
Summer POV“Let me out!” I slammed my boot against the trunk door but it was useless.I heard them laugh and my heart dropped to my stomach.“No,” I whispered and rolled to my side. The car roared to life and backed out of the property. I was right my wolf was on the property. She was so close but yet so far.My heart ached for Ezra. I knew a door couldn’t stop him not even if it were made of silver.I stuffed a knife from the duffle bag into my boot, but it wasn’t strong enough to open the trunk. It was worth a shot, though. I pulled the knife out of my boot and searched for an opening. It was dark, so I was relying on luck.“Damn it,” I muttered. The car swerved and rocked violently until it came to a crushing halt. I fumbled the knife and sliced my palm as a result.“Ouch.”What happened?I held still and listened for anything. Doors slammed shut and curses went flying. It wasn’t just Conner and Blake but I didn’t recognize the other voices.“Hey!” I screamed. They obviously crashed
Summer POVEzra pulled his shirt over his head and shoved it into his wardrobe. Ugh, men. He pulled off his pants and threw them on the chair in the corner where the rest of his other slightly worn clothes were.I was in his bed watching him. He turned around and caught me. He smirked and I blushed.“Really Summer?”“It was a nice show.”“Will I get one when I come back?”I rolled on my back and he came over to sit on the bed next to me. He stroked my hair and suddenly his face turned serious.“You can come with me. I liked the feeling of having you on my back.”“I don’t want to ruin your night. I’ll be here when you get back.”“Babe, do you want me to stay? I don’t have to go for a run tonight.”He’s the Alpha and he has to lead the run every full moon. I remembered the full moon Ezra and Dad got attacked
Ezra POVA run was just what I needed to cool off. My Alpha General was on my neck for taking Blake’s pack I didn’t mean to but he needed to be punished. The best thing for me to do to prevent him from retailing was to put a permanent Alpha there as soon as possible. I offered Roman the job but he didn’t want anything to do with his ex – Summer’s Mom.We had run for hours and most of these guys could keep going but I was ready to return to my warm mate. It had been a successful run and there was one tomorrow but I was going to spend the night with Summer. There were a thousand things I could come up with for us to do.“Come on, Ezra, you’re giving up already?” Noah asked through our link.I sniffled and kept walking. “I’m done.”“He really is an old man,” Oliver replied through our link.“We’ve got two old men in our group,” Noah add
Summer POVHe hung up on me! He’s probably in the council meeting I rationed. I went back to cleaning the tables at the bar. I hadn’t been here in ages and it oddly felt good to be busy.“Hey! Do you even still work here?” Lettie said with glee from the bar.“Barely. I’m about to put out vacancies,” Marley replied.I shook my head at her. “I’ve been busy lately.”“She’s going to be even busier with her mating ceremony coming up,” Wren sang as she wandered between the empty tables.“There is no mating ceremony.”When two powerful Alpha’s have sex it causes a power surge. The forces of our Alpha wolves spread out among the pack and everyone felt it. It’s supposed to be good for the environment and make wolves stronger. I thought it was a myth until we created one. Though, now everyone knows Alpha Ezra has a fated mate.I still couldn’t fathom how he had two mates. A part of me thought the moon goddess was puni
Summer POVDerek took Lettie into his arms.“This is my fault. I-I don’t know what happened. I couldn’t shift.”Derek eyed me with a raised brow.“Long story… but thank you.”“Don’t thank me. Lucky for us Rocco wanted to stop by a bakery.”“And you made fun of me,” Rocco puffed.I clutched my head as an intense ringing went off.“Summer are you okay?” Derek asked. My vision blurred and all I heard was the ringing sound. Couldn’t they hear the sound? Derek split in two and the ground wobbled.“Mate…” a ghost-like voice said. “Where are you?”I shook my head. I wanted the ringing to stop before it blew my head open.“Please stop,” I whispered almost helplessly.A cold hand landed on my back. I looked up to see Rocco staring at me with concern in his eyes. The ringing went as quickly as it had come. Well, that was unexpected and painful.“Did you guys not hear that?” I asked.
Summer POV“You’re the one standing in my mate’s house,” Sophia responded.I laughed. “Ezra didn’t tell me you were funny.”Sophia clenched her jaw and placed her hand on her hip. She grinned and I swear her eyes twinkled. I couldn’t stand this woman she irritated my wolf. My Alpha female wolf wanted to tackle her to the ground but I returned Sophia’s smile and pushed my wolf away.“Where is Ezra anyway?”“Upstairs, asleep,” I said quickly. “Want to leave a message?”She shook her head and strolled inside, swinging her bag at her side. “I’d rather wait for him to wake up. I’ve got things to talk about with my mate.”I bit the inside of my cheek. This was getting ridiculous. Ezra could not have two mates!“Are you sure you even want this Summer?” Sophia asked, her voice sweet and innocent.“What?”“Ezra’s a lot older than you. He’s an Alpha and he’s in contention to be Alpha King. Do you want the resp
Summer POVEzra dragged me upstairs and pushed me to the bed while he marched into the bathroom to clean his bloody fist.“Aren’t you going to say anything?” I asked. My response was the sound of water running. He hadn’t said a word while he picked up his brother’s unconscious body and took it outside. I knew better than to follow him so I snuck into the kitchen and peeked out the window. Ezra dumped Hunter in the storage shed. He would smell a lot worse than he already did because the shed was a refuge for wildlife.“How did you find him?” he asked.“He was locked in the wall. Do you have secret rooms in the house or what?”It was an old creepy castle it must have more than a few secrets. He folded his arms over his chest. Irritation and frustration rolled off him. I let out a shaky breath. Hunter’s been missing for days and each time I asked about him Ezra brushed me off. I thought they got into a sibling squabble. Unl
Summer POVWhy did I agree to dinner again? Right, I was starving and anything to do with food sounded like paradise! Now I’m wearing a black dinner dress that I feel is over the top and Ellen’s going to make a snarky remark about it.“Stop fidgeting with your dress. It’s sexy.” Ezra gripped my hand and planted it on his thigh.“That’s the problem it’s too much.”“Says who?”“Of course, you don’t think so you’re my mate.”He put the car in park. Ellen and her husband lived in a massive modern mansion. It could put Ezra’s house to shame but Ezra’s castle had a massive amount of land. I could imagine the parties they threw here.Ezra leaned over the console and kissed my forehead.“Just be yourself, Summer. Don’t worry about anything. I’ll be right next to you.”I chewed on my bottom lip and nodded. This would have been easier if I didn’t know Ellen hated me. Maybe she was different around her husband. Ezra and I walked to the front door and were greeted by an elderly woman in a formal
Ezra POV“It’s too soon,” I replied.“You’re worried about Gardenia, aren’t you?” She stomped to the fireplace.“I’m not scared of her.”“Oh yeah?” she raised a brow in challenge.“Listen, sweetheart. We’re taking precautions. This little guy’s the heir to my empire, my fortune—”“You have a fortune?” Summer dipped her head to the side.“Of course I do. I live in a castle. I run the most successful bar in town and that doesn’t even cut it.”“It doesn’t?” she asked.Summer didn’t know about my finances. I realized I kept the state of my pockets away from her. I didn’t mean to. I trusted her. She never made me feel like she was after me for money or status.“That’s a conversation we need to have later, but I’ve got a bunch of businesses in my tribe packs. I’ve got trusted people running them. I’m not worried about anything.”It didn’t hurt that I had a dark reputation. It came in handy when people thought about crossing me. It made them think twice.Summer blew a lock of hair out of he
Ezra POVI stuffed Summer’s dress in a garbage bag and cleaned up the mess in the bedroom. Blood was never a good sign. It was a warning of things to come. I was tired of this bitch and her threats but it was about time she showed her damn face. Her daughter Veronica penetrated our borders again during our Mating Ceremony.I didn’t tell Summer because I didn’t want her to worry. I know a part of her carries serious guilt for killing Jacob, but it was either him or her, and I was glad it was him and not her. While Summer was in the shower in the other room across the hall, I pulled out my phone and called Vik.“Any news?” I asked.“She’s around. The little bitch.” Saying Vik had family issues was an understatement.“Summer thinks your stepmother’s prowling around. She left us a gift.”“Fuck.”“When I find her, I’ll kill her.”“Listen, Ezra. I think there’s a reason Gardenia’s been buying her time.”“I’m listening.”“Okay, hear me out. I know that woman killed my Father and took everyth
Summer POVI woke to the sound of an axe hitting wood. It was still six in the morning what’s with all the noise? Yet the sun didn’t seep into the cabin. It was gloomy like the sky wanted to cry but it was holding it all in. Ezra wasn’t in the bed with me so I assumed the noise was him. I slipped into his shirt and put on my bunny slippers.I passed my wedding dress on the chair in the corner of the room. It was neatly laid on the chair. It was so beautiful I can’t believe I couldn’t wear it again.Ezra booked a cosy cabin near a river in the middle of nowhere. The next cabin was miles away so we weren’t totally alone out here. It was a romantic getaway. I didn’t think we’d have a honeymoon because we’ve lived together for so long.“Should you be chopping wood shirtless?” I called out from the front porch. He paused and straightened his spine— his back muscles“Shouldn’t you be resting?”I smiled. I closed the distance and kissed him. He grabbed my cheek and deepened our kiss.“I thou
Summer POV“So this is the girl who claims to be the future Luna,” Ellen said. How would I respond to that?“I…uh… well…”She eyed me from head to toe. I felt like I was under an X-ray machine. She adjusted her bag, raised her shoulders and continued to stare disapprovingly.I shook my head. “I’m Summer.”“I’m Ellen Turner. Ezra’s Aunt. His Mother was my sister. I’m also an esteemed member of the Pack Council. I take my job very seriously.”She reminded me of an old stuck-up school Principal. I offered Ellen a pressed smile.“I’m sure you do, Ellen.”How did she know I was here? I didn’t want to know.“The Mating Ceremony is a few days away,” she stated.I nodded. “I just have to pick up my dress. Ezra and I have everything organized. You don’t have to worry about anything.”Ellen placed a hand on her chest, threw her head back and laughed. I pressed my lips together. My wolf didn’t like her as much as I did but I forced Clover to be nice.“I have a lot to be worried about. Like the w
Summer POV“Hunter won’t let anyone into the room,” Oliver said.“I’m her sister! Her full-blood sister, not even half anymore. I want to see her.”“He’s in his wolf form, Summer and it’s damn terrifying.” Oliver rubbed the back of his head as he spoke.“Give him a minute, Summer. His girlfriend was attacked. If you were in that bed, no one would be allowed in this hospital.”I stared at Ezra. He could be so dramatic.“She got stabbed, Ezra,” I said.“Exactly, and Hunter’s worried, too. Come on, let’s get coffee. If he’s not out by the time we return, then we’ll figure things out.”“Can’t you make him come out?”He slipped an arm around my shoulder, and we began to walk.“I don’t have authority over Hunter anymore. He’s too powerful.”“Right… aren’t you worried about that?”Ezra sighed and punched a button for the elevator doors to open.“I’m more worried about my brother being hunted like an animal and killed for the Solaris Crown.”“That won’t happen. Remember, Hunter is really powe
Hunter POVShe tasted like cherry and vanilla. I dove my fingers into my hair, tugging as our lips connected. Estelle was a wildfire yet as delicate as ice. Never met a girl who could kid my ass and mend my heart all at once. I think I knew a while ago that I was screwed.“Ah Hunter,” she moaned.I growled into her lips. I lifted her thighs. Gosh, I loved her thighs and flipped her over so I was on top. I caressed her arms and lifted them over her head. I paused and stared into her eyes. I could do this my whole life. Which was scary I’d never thought about that before with any woman.“Hey, come on!”I chuckled. “Impatient much?”She bit her bottom lip. I rolled my hips forward, filling her up completely as gently as I could. She changed up my entire style. She might have been a badass out there in the real world. Estelle could kick anyone’s ass. Yet when she was with me the real Estelle came out. The shy, delicate and soft Estelle. She was soft in more ways than one. I scooped her in
Summer POV“Don’t worry he’ll be fine. I didn’t realize my own strength but I removed whatever dark spell was rooted in him.”Ezra and Hunter with Estelle arrived ten minutes ago. They hauled Dad upstairs to his room. Rachel and her family cleared out before Ezra arrived. Good, I didn’t want to deal with them ever again.Dad hadn’t woken up though he was breathing easily.I nodded and rubbed my eyes, itching to spill tears.“There’s something else though,” Hunter rubbed the back of his head.“What?” Estelle asked before I could.“I…uh… look I didn’t know it would happen!”“Spit it out Hunter,” Ezra growled. Ezra placed his hand on my shoulder and massaged it.“I couldn’t heal him without taking something from him apparently it’s how my powers work. So I took his rank. He’s not an Alpha anymore.”“Oh fuck, Hunter,” Ezra exhaled.“It was either that or let him die. I’m sorry girls.”“Whatever,” Estelle mumbled.I glared at her. “He can’t be the Alpha General anymore because he’s not an
Summer POV“You’ve had a problem with my wife since you met her, admit it,” Dad grumbled.“Yes, I admit it. I hate the fact you made me sleep in the basement when there was a perfectly good room upstairs without rats!”“We’ll talk about that later,” Dad said, shoving the front door open.“Oh, honey you’re back early,” Marcella said.“Were you doing something?” I accused. She rolled her eyes. “And you brought this one.”“Summer’s not staying long,” Dad said. I swear I saw sweat on his brow. It wasn’t hot in the house by any chance.“Of course, she still has to clean out her room. I want to convert the basement into an in-house gym!” She clapped her hands.I rolled my eyes dramatically and made sure it lasted long enough for her to see it.“Yes, Summer should get her things,” Dad said.He wasn’t sounding like himself again. I should have come with backup but I was here now and I couldn’t back out.“What did you do to him, Marcella? Aside from lie!”Marcella placed a hand on her chest an
