“Stop! Stop, let them go,” Ezra ordered.
“What?” Dad and I asked.
“I said let them go damn it!”
Was he insane? The betas got here quickly. One of them was licking its wounds and we had them surrounded. Why did he want us to let them go?
“Ezra?” I said through gritted teeth.
He tightened his grip on my waist. He narrowed his eyes on the wolves.
Dad nodded for the betas to part. The wolves saw the gap and ran off. They howled as they ran. They could be vulnerable. I feared this was our best shot and we’d just blown it.
