OLIVIA’S POV

We walk home together after the bonfire,

Alexis and Jane in front of us, holding hands and looking at each other tenderly.

Nate And I at the back with Neil behind us trying to ignore whatever moment we had back at the bonfire. I keep stealing glances at him, hoping to catch him looking at me, but every time I glance at him he is looking ahead.

Nate seems extra focused on getting to the house all of a sudden.

We get home and Alexis and Jane go up to their room on the far edge of the house, not paying the rest of us any attention.

This whole escape from my father, our lives at stake thing, seems to bring them closer, they look like they were on their honeymoon moon or something, while for the rest of us, it seems to draw us apart.

Nathaniel goes ahead to the bedroom while I put Neil to bed and tucked him in.
