I came back home and met Mrs Catherine and Winnifred talking and laughing as usual.

I didn't bother greeting them as I just went upstairs to my room, they didn't seem to notice my presence afterall.

I freshened up and went to my study to complete some unfinished work.

When I was done, I went downstairs and they were still laughing and gisting.

I wonder what they talk about that always makes them laugh like this.

I cleared my throat to announce my presence and they turned towards my direction.

That wife of mine was looking at me like she just saw a ghost. She'd look at me, then, at the door then, at me again. She continued the back and forth movement with her eyes while her mouth was open in shock.

Mrs Catherine just looked at me like she wasn't surprised and just shrugged off her shoulders.
