Narek's POV

It was lunch break and I had already finished off my last class for the day. I missed having Nyx around and wondered what she might be up to, if she would be less busy, or perhaps, agree to hang out.

I walked down the hallway, straining from time to time to catch a glimpse of Nyx among the bustling students to no avail.

I was about to give up hope when my eyes suddenly caught sight of her at one corner of the cafeteria, dining with her friends. I recognized one of them as Clyde and clenched my hands jealously.

Not wanting to let my anger get the best of me, I stood at one place watching Nyx lovingly as she ate and laughed without worries.

"She is an epitome of beauty and brains, isn't she?" I heard someone ask beside me and cleared my throat distractingly.

I didn't remember I was ogling at her for so long and smiling at the same time. I raised my eyes to see the person who had spoken to me and instantly bowed politely in respect to the older teacher standing beside

Nyx's POV I had just invited Otis as well as Clyde to come watch my transformation and they were equally happy for me. The countdown to the moment the moon while showing up in the sky in its full glory was drawing near and my excitement was increasing. I had just walked into another hallway on my way to my last class when I felt a pair of hands pull me aside. "Liz" I rolled my eyes, "Cindy was right after all, why do you always act like a freak and tend to scare people away all the time? What do you even want with me?" I snapped but she choose to ignore my questions. "I haven't heard from you Nyx, have you finally come up with a decision?" She requested and I struggled out of her hold. "Yes and my answer is a big No, I am going nowhere with you leech. As a matter of fact, I have gotten all the answers I require so I'm sorry your services are not needed anymore. Excuse me" I retorted and tried to leave her sight. She stopped me by placing an arm in front of me, an evil smirk st

Nyx's POVThe awaited day finally came and I couldn't be happier. Aunt Gacia had come by earlier that afternoon to drop off the beautiful gown she had purchased for me just for this very occasion. From time to time, Mrs Toddleboar's warning resounded in my ears and I could help but feel terrified of what lay ahead of me. But I had Narek by my side, he always reassured me that all will be well. Otis could as well feel my restlessness and offered me warmth the best way he could.Narin helped me put my hair in place, she grinned at me widely. "You are so beautiful Nyx" she complimented and took out a handmade bracelet she made from cowries and pearl beads."I made it just for you as a congratulatory token into your new phase of life," she said shyly and I felt my eyes water. I slowly took it from her hands and wore it around my wrist, "it's beautiful" I muttered, staring at my wrist in admiration."Thank you so much, Narin, for all you do. I appreciate you dearly" I said appreciatively

Nyx's POV It was both exciting and fun to run around with Otis in our non-human form. Clyde was not kidding when he revealed that I would be so tired by the time I had finished transforming because heck was I so weak and unable to lift a finger after the run. Otis licked my ear and I snuggled into his body feeling slightly better. We returned to the rock to find just Clyde with the box of goodies he told me about. I asked Claire to let me return to my usual self and Clyde immediately took his eyes away since I was naked. He stretched my gown towards, his hands covering his eyes. I chuckled at how cute he was being and slowly took the gown from him and draping it over my body. "So, where is everyone?" I requested, sitting beside him and taking a slice out of the pizza before. Otis returned to his normal state as well and sat beside me. I offered him some snacks which he accepted with a warm smile and bit into his hungrily. I turned to Clyde, "You're not answering" I remind

Narin's POV My heart pounded in my chest as I struggled against the tight restraints that bound me to the cold, metallic chair. The vampire who had barged inside the room and attacked me fiercely was smirking menacingly as she forced a gag around my lips. I thrashed and struggled with the restraints again but she had tied it too tight that I was certain my skin was starting to get ripped. "Now be a good girl Narin and wait in there till your roommate arrives, only then will you be rescued" she cackled evilly while pulling the door open and dragging all the clothes in the wardrobe, out of the hanger like a maniac. She dumped them carelessly on the bed causing some of the clothes to litter around the room. Her eyes met mine and she smirked with a wicked glint in her bright red orbs. "What? You have something to say?" She asked in an almost sweet voice that caused shivers to run down my spine. "Ok, I will let you speak since you are being so respectful," she said with a smirk and

Miss Pendleton's POVI had just pleaded with Sylvia to withdraw the forces she sent to get Nyx on the agreement that I will send her to the pack house in two days' time.Time was ticking and there was nothing I could do to extend Nyx's stay in Salvador or buy her enough time to explore her capabilities.Nyx was brought into this realm for a reason and it was high time she does her responsibility to the clan.I let out a frustrated sigh while sagging into the swivel chair in my office. My lips lifted up in a small smile as scenes of Nyx's transformation replayed in my head."She is so strong and determined" I whispered to myself, swirling the ring on my middle finger mindlessly. The office door flung open and my attention turned to the student who dashed into my office, breathing so fast like she was being chased. I narrowed my eyes at her, my thoughts in a haze. "Did Sylvia's men hurt any of the students by any chance? I thought Narek held them back from getting past the school gat

Nyx's POV I could hear the voices of people discussing in hushed tunes and murmuring sleepily as my mind struggled to regain clarity. Something felt strange about my surroundings, it didn't feel like back in my dorm at Salvador and the voices did not sound anything like Narin's. I stirred in my sleep and tried to stand up only to discover I was bound and so was unable to move. Slowly, I opened my eyes, disoriented and confused that would be the right phrase to describe what I felt as soon as my eyes fell on the ceiling over my head. I was in a strange place, lying on a hard bed in a dark room. My hands and feet were bound to the bed and my head was pounding, my body felt heavy, as if I had been drugged. As I tried to sit up, I felt a sharp pain in my neck, and the events of everything that occurred back there in the room began to unfold. "Liz, what did she do to me? And Narin, is she okay? Where am I even?" I wondered within myself, slightly turning my eyes to my side to obser

Nyx's POV I stared at Sylvia's outstretched hands and turned to the bodies of the vampires littered on the floor with a horrified gaze. I gulped down nothing as I took note of their skin which was starting to burn on its own. Sylvia slowly withdrew her hand and I climbed down from the altar still looking around the room in fear. I ran barefoot towards the corner Liz was standing before she was strangely consumed by whatever spell Mother sent her way and found no trace of her. I marveled at my mom's ability but at the same time, terrified of what more she could do. Perhaps worse than this. "There's no need crying over split milk Nyx, we must hurry. Time is not on our side" I heard her cold, emotionless voice utter and without turning towards me, she made her way out of the coven. I needed not to be reminded to go after her as I hurried out of the cave-like structure of the vampire's coven. Sylvia took three steps more and stopped in her tracks, staring at the empty space. Nyx's POV "I know my way around so you must stick behind me, I wouldn't want you to get lost in the woods on my watch understood?" Mother demanded but my mind was too occupied with lots of thoughts to provide a suitable answer. She noticed my demeanor and sighed heavily, "You should stop worrying about the petty little friends you made in that Academy. They will be of little or no use to you soon" My forehead creased at her words, "What do you know about us Mother?" I could feel anger starting to rise in my tune. "Those petty friends were the ones who stood by me when you practically abandoned me over there in Salvador. They loved me so much and never discriminated against me for being a degenerate. They were patient, understanding, and caring, unlike some cold, selfish, and mysterious beings who claim to be on my side when everything is slowly coming back to normal!" I slammed angrily, my eyes darkening with malice. Sylvia looked taken aback by my sudden outburst but comported

Nyx's POV "Noooo" I yelled and fell to my knees. Ms. Toddleboar's warning resounded in my eardrums. "A war is coming and it is your fight. It is going to be a deadly one, you will lose your loved ones but at last, you shall be victorious. But you have to be ready and face all you meet, else you fall into the darkness and your ability taken away from you like it never existed in the first place" This was what she was speaking about, my eyes turned to Narek who was sprawled on the floor, his eyes held so much pain as he gazed into mine. Aman stood above him, panting heavily as blood trickled down his injured face. Clyde's tattoos and runes had finally wiped away from his skin and he fell limply to the floor, drained. Tears gushed out of my eyes as I clasped my hand over my mouth and cried bitterly. Aman moved away from Narek's side and joined Otis who was standing beside Sylvia. "No, no, no this can't be happening" I muttered breathlessly, running towards Narek who was hardly

Nyx's POV "I came back as soon as I sensed you were out of your hiding after searching for you all over the woods. How dare you stress me out like that!" Sylvia scolded me. Her voice was coated in anger which she had bottled up in her chest. I rolled my eyes inwardly. "You ingrate, I have tried everything to explain things to you but you wouldn't adhere. In the long run, you too shall be rewarded greatly only if you and your aunt allowed this exercise to take place. But what did you two do instead? Invite your weak friends to stand up against us and now you are yelling for us to stop tormenting them" "I am no ingrate Sylvia and I wish to remind you that this mission will remain impossible as far as I am still alive and breathing" I retorted and she smiled darkly. "Even if it costs the life of your dear mate and friends?" She asked while raising her hands in the air and at the same time, a dark energy enveloped Otis, Narek, and Clyde, raising them high in the sky as they struggl

Nyx's POV After some time of resting just like Clyde suggested, the antidote worked fervently and Claire bounced back to life in minutes. I was glad she was now safe but at the same time, I needed to make sure my mates, Narek and Otis were okay as well. "No Nyx, it's dangerous. I can't let you go out there alone" Clyde stopped me when I was about living our temporary hideout. "Then come with me. This is my battle Clyde and I won't be able to bear it if they lose their life in my place. Remember what happened in the case of Miss Pendleton, I wouldn't be able to bear losing another loved one to the hands of those evil beings" I returned stubbornly. He rubbed his face in frustration, "Still Nyx, I don't think it is right for you to come out to join the fight. I have been in a fight with Otis and I could tell you that with the ability he possesses, he will do well in taking care of the Sorcerers. Not to talk of Narek who is a master in the arts of magic, defense, and attacks" Clyde

  • Taming The Reaper's Heir   Chapter 138: My Vulnerable State

Narek's POV The pain I felt from trying to break free from the barrier of radiant energy I was trapped in was agonizing and I roared loudly in frustration. My mind wandered back to Nyx who had run off long before now and Aman is back already. I wondered if she is safe and neither Aman nor Sylvia were able to get to her. Those sorcerers did not seem like they were going to give me some time to absorb the electrifying effects their cage was pushing into my skin as Gin formed some sort of dark ball and sent it my way. This was me in my vulnerable state, I was bound and unable to easily break free from the cocoon they put their hands together to create. It was a powerful one that was sizzling with electric fury and threatening to burn my skin as soon as I attempt breaking away. The dark ball penetrated into my chest and I howled out in pain, the effect constricting my heart in such a painful manner, I thought he was going to pull it out of my body. Odin did not seem like he was don

Otis's POV The Sorcerer who was standing just before Narek's frail body fell to the floor due to the impact of my wolf's collision with him and the older one instantly rushed to his side to help him up. I made my way to Narek's side, still in my wolf form, and licked his wounds to express my concern. He squinted his eyes at me, trying to make out my identity and when he did, he released a frustrated sigh. "Otis, you still came after all I told you" he grumbled and groaned in pain, "Nyx, have you seen her anywhere?" He managed to ask amidst the growl that was coming from his throat. Narek's bones began to crack and his skin color began to change, I could tell he was on the verge of transformation, and quickly stepped away from him. I had just taken four steps backward when my feet were suddenly swept off the floor but I was quick to regain my composure due to Xavier's inner strength and resilience. My eyes met with that of the older Sorcerer who was glaring at me coldly. He se

  • Taming The Reaper's Heir   Chapter 136: A Good Show

Narek's POV Once Nyx began running away from the evil sorcerers for safety, I raised my staff to the sky, my eyes gleaming with a mix of determination and a hint of uncertainty. The elders and late Miss Pendleton's sister sure were daring but I wouldn't want to appear frightened or intimidated by the presence. I would do all it takes to make sure Nyx is safe from them, even if it means fighting them off with my very last strength. "He will be easy to handle, Go on Sylvia. Get your daughter back to us, Gin can go with you" The older-looking elder in their midst stated. "No, I am going to fight him instead. He made a fool out of me earlier but it's high time I put him in his place" Gin snarled while glaring daggers at me. "I'm fine on my own Odin, I can find my daughter and bring her back without the help of anyone, let alone a weakling" Sylvia eyed Gin before snapping her fingers and disappearing into the air. "Good then, I guess it's worth a show" Odin cackled mischievously set

Nyx's POV With a swift speed, I never expected to possess, I grabbed Aunt Gacia and fell to the floor with her in my arms. Her face became pale in seconds and tears dropped from my eyes. She slowly reached for my face and wiped my tears away, smiling sadly. "That's him, the intruder!" One of the elders growled as he made to attack Narek who fought back with matching strength while the others stood on standby and watched on. "No, please don't die on me Aunt, we need to escape here together" I cried loudly, pulling her to my bosom. Her bleeding wound was already staining my hands but I did not mind. "Nyx, you must go now" she coughed, dark blood spurting out of her mouth. "No, I'm not going anywhere without you" I returned stubbornly, struggling to get her to stand on her feet. "Stop being stupid Nyx and save yourself" She clasped my hand, staring right into my eyes in pure concern. "I'm sorry I couldn't do much to help you but I believe it is not over until it is over. Nyx's POV "Garcia, haven't we waited long enough? Why is it taking so long to change?" The grumpy elder, Aman complained after he had asked Aunt Garcia to change her outfit to no avail. "Thank you Aunt" I whispered to her ear after she had broken the news about Narek coming to my rescue to me. She only squeezed my hand lovingly, a satisfied glint in her eyes, "anytime niece". Sylvia noticed the both of us and cast Garcia a warning glance, Miss Pendleton did not seem bothered by it anyways. "Garcia, a word" Mother requested, slowly moving away from the table where I lay and pulling Aunt Garcia alongside her. "Not again, why do you ladies always find a way to slow us down in everything" "Enough Aman, let the sisters talk" the Elder with the ancient book reprimanded grumpy Aman for always complaining. "What an insatiable being" I muttered under my breath as I glared at him from behind. I was certain this was Aunt Gacia's way of stalling them and I was grateful things were falling

Narek's POV I barged into Miss Pendleton's office, my fist clenched in anger and my face stoic and unsmiling. Her back was turned against me as she stood before the window at the back of her desk. Staring outside the bustling surroundings of the school, she sipped from the green mug she was holding in her hands. "What is this I hear about Nyx? She was abducted right under your nose and there's nothing you are doing to see to her return?" I asked in rage, trying my best to keep myself together and not cause a ruckus. Unlike me, miss Pendleton was at peace and did not seem so worried about anything. "Did they snitch on me already?" She chortled instead and sipped from her mug, "Whom did you hear about this from? Narin Oregon, her roommate or Otis Agni, Nyx's mate?" "That is not what is important at the moment Miss Pendleton" I returned through gritted teeth while tightening my hands which was in a fist. "I understand they are worried about her. Why wouldn't they? Nyx conside
