Chapter 129: A Special One

Nyx's POV

I stared at Sylvia's outstretched hands and turned to the bodies of the vampires littered on the floor with a horrified gaze. I gulped down nothing as I took note of their skin which was starting to burn on its own.

Sylvia slowly withdrew her hand and I climbed down from the altar still looking around the room in fear.

I ran barefoot towards the corner Liz was standing before she was strangely consumed by whatever spell Mother sent her way and found no trace of her.

I marveled at my mom's ability but at the same time, terrified of what more she could do. Perhaps worse than this.

"There's no need crying over split milk Nyx, we must hurry. Time is not on our side" I heard her cold, emotionless voice utter and without turning towards me, she made her way out of the coven.

I needed not to be reminded to go after her as I hurried out of the cave-like structure of the vampire's coven.
