EVANDER'S POV
"What is the stance on the recent rogue attacks? Also, I heard some weird activities were seen at the borders of our pack last night. What is it about? Is the council looking into the matter, or do they expect us to look into the matter this time as well?" I asked Jason as he sat in my office with a lazy look on his face.
"They said they'll look into the matter. However, they are hoping we could send our best spies to help their team. I think they are looking into the matter with the rogue head. They have been trying to trace him for a long time, and this time they are sure he is somewhere in our country. And regarding the weird activities of last night, we are still unsure as to what exactly had happened. Some security members on the patrol said that they saw a weird wind pattern flowing outside our pack, and some said they had an illusion of a tornado-like thing forming in the sky.
I am sure the member who said this was drunk. A tornado in the sky without touching the ground? That to be when there were no witches in the area? He has to be drunk," Jason said before rolling his eyes, and I sighed.
"The rogue head is in our country? We need to try to keep track of him too. We can’t sit still like this when so many activities are taking place simultaneously. You know how that guy is. We can never predict what he is up to, and when he attacks any pack uselessly just because he is in the mood. Also, be it the wind pattern or any drunk illusion of some pack member, I need you to find out about it too. It's not good for us. It can be our enemies who might be trying to form allies with the evil witches to take us down. We need to find what it was and why it happened," I said, and he nodded his head.
"I knew you would say something like that, and that's why I have already called the council head and had asked him to ask the witch friend of his if there was some witch who passed through our pack last night or if someone tried to play some trick with us," Jason said, and I nodded at him.
"That's good. Wait for their reply, and let me know what they have to say regarding the rogue matter too. Is there anything that needs my urgent attention? I have to take the English classes of the second senior class in twenty minutes," I asked him, and he sighed.
"I know it's useless to say this, but why don't you quit this teaching job? These responsibilities and jobs are taking a toll on you, and I can see that. Just look at yourself. When was the last time you had a decent sleep?" Jason said, and I nodded my head.
“Last night. For some reason, last night I was able to sleep peacefully,” I told him dreamily as Avyanna’s sleeping face when I was carrying her to her room appeared in my mind, making me sigh.
“What did you say?” Jason asked me, and I shook my head.
"I know you are only looking for me, but I can't agree to it. You know it was mom's dream to teach in a school after I was five years old and capable of taking care of myself. However, she died in the rogue attack. I don't want her dream to die. It makes me feel I am able to do something for her," I said, and he nodded his head.
"Well, as you wish. Just know that I am always here if you need help with -" he paused mid-sentence when Alex opened the door with a loud bang, making me look at him as if he was wishing for his death for making so much noise.
"Evander, I know you hate it when I act like this, but this is serious. It's about your sister. She.." He took a deep breath, making me immediately stand as I looked at him urgently, already making my way out of the door.
"What about my sister, Alex?" I asked him, and he sighed.
"She got into some trouble. She is fighting with the girls from the sinister pack. They are beating her," he said, and I growled under my breath.
"What did you say? They are beating my girl, and rather than saving her, you came here running like a wuss, complaining about what is going on? You are seriously trying to get on my nerves, aren't you?" I asked him, and he looked at me before gulping as my wolf Cyrus started to get angry.
‘He dared to let them hurt what is ours!’ Cyrus growled, wanting to take over my body, and I took a deep breath before telling him to calm down and let me handle the matter.
"Evander, it's not about that. After seeing her repulsive reaction on the breakfast table on a thing as small as you dropping her, I wasn't sure if we should meddle in her business like this. What if she flips out?" Alex asked me, and I rolled my eyes.
"Do you really think that should be our prime concern at the moment? She might get hurt badly and feel traumatized for god’s sake!
Also, if we will save their fight, it will be in the name of preventing the kids from making a fuss and maintaining the school's decorum,” I said, and he nodded his head, making me sigh.
“Now, what are you waiting for? Go and see if the infirmary is ready and the doctor hasn't gone on a stroll again. What if Avy needs immediate medical attention? You just hope that she is alright, or I am going to beat you today," I couldn't help but warn him as I rushed towards the canteen, multiple scenarios going inside my head.
'Please be safe, Avyanna. I won't be able to forgive myself if something happened to you today. I know you are hurt. I know you are mad at what's going on around your relationship with your mother, but please don't harm yourself like this. I will never be able to look into my dad’s eyes if something happened to you," I thought in my head, looking at Alex angrily, making him bow his head as he rushed towards the scene, walking even faster, his widened eyes when he stopped at the gate of the canteen, making my heart thump as I expected the worst.
'Please let her be safe,' I whispered in my head before taking a deep breath.
"Step aside!" I said before gently pushing him aside.
Traveling my gaze around the canteen, my eyes darkened when I took in the scene in front of me.
"Avyanna, what the hell is going on here?" I couldn't help but growl her name when I saw her on the ground, and I know I should be going there and helping her up rather than shouting at her like this, and I would've surely helped her if she wasn't like this.
I would’ve surely helped her if she wasn’t the one on the top while the other girls lay on the ground, at her mercy.
Avyanna wasn’t the only girl lying on the ground. Three more girls were on the ground along with her, her limbs pinning them down.
Her left leg was twisted around a girl's neck while her other leg was pressing the other girl down with her hand gripping the neck of who I remember as the head of these girls from the Sinister pack.
As if shocked by my sudden intrusion, she looked at me like a deer caught in headlights.
"Bro- Eva- Mr. Sterling, I... they started it!" She said wide-eyed, looking at me with an unadulterated gaze like that of an innocent kid, and I couldn't help but feel my heart softening at her gaze, all my anger dissipating in a second.
She was looking like a kid who was caught in the act and was now trying to blame others for her sins, and no matter how much I told myself that I was her teacher and I was supposed to act unbiased towards my students and was supposed to scold her, I just couldn't bear raising my voice at her.
'That's what we call whipped, Evander. You are whipped for her already. I think years of loneliness are finally catching up on you, and now you can't think of harming the girl who has come to live by your side and has suddenly become a part of your life,' Cyrus whispered in my head, and I pressed my lips into a thin line while looking at him.
'Last time I checked, I never asked for your opinion,' I said before blocking him, much to his dismay.
"You said she was being beaten up?" I asked Alex, who was still looking at her with shocked eyes, and couldn't help but shake my head at him for scaring me so much.
"Can you first get up so that we can see who was at fault and who wasn't?" I asked, and she chuckled awkwardly while everyone was looking at them.
"What are you guys looking at? Is this some kind of amusing show to you? Do you want me to detain you for not calling a teacher as soon as you saw them fighting?" I asked the crowd angrily, and everyone dispersed as soon as I uttered those words.
"I think I need to talk to your alpha," I said to Melinda, who was the leader of the girls' group before holding Avyanna's hand and helping her up by untangling her limbs from around those girls.
"Ouch," She winced slightly when my hand touched her elbow, and I turned it, my eyes darkening when I saw some blood dripping.
“Does it hurt a lot?” I couldn’t help but ask her, and she bit her lips before nodding slightly.
"I had heard you were a trouble maker, but I didn't know you were such a trouble magnet, who would invite such a mess on the first day of her school. Let’s get you treated," I said, holding her gently as I massaged the back of her palm, not knowing why I was comforting her in the first place.
Looking up at me as if offended by my sentence, she pouted her lips while looking down, and I couldn't help but sigh.
I was having this strong urge to hold her in my arms and pick her up bridal style and just rush to the infirmary. However, I knew it would become a nuisance for her later as she doesn't like it and people will indeed start gossiping. Thinking this, I knitted my brows in annoyance before gritting my teeth as I helped other girls to appear unbiased.
"All four of you, in the head's office right now," I said to them coldly, my gaze sweeping through Avyanna one last time as I barely controlled my instincts to go ahead and pick her in my arms to check where was she hurt and if she was really as okay as she was showing me.
Yes, I know I am acting weird, and as much as I hate to admit it, I was scared for her safety. It's been so long since I last cared about someone else other than my family, and though I was always repulsed by the thought of having someone to care for and have her become my weakness, for some strange reason, I liked caring for her already.
I don't know what was happening to me. I haven't even met her for twenty-four hours, and she is already living in my mind rent-free with her thoughts clogging up most of the space.
Was what Cyrus said really true? Was I already getting whipped for the girl I met not long ago?
"Evander? The kids are waiting," Jason, who I completely forgot about and had accompanied me, said, and I nodded my head before biting my lips, sighing loudly as my gaze met with the kid who was going to be the next alpha of the Sinister pack.
"I will talk with you later about how you are letting your members hurt innocent people," I told him, looking at him without an expression on my face, and he nodded his head respectfully, making me turn around and leave.
Now I need to check what exactly happened for that troublesome girl to show her claws on the first day of her school. I thought before smiling as I remembered her pouting face.
“Evander, is something the matter? Why are you smiling?” Jason asked me, and I looked at him monotonously.
“Are you drunk? Who is smiling?” I said before walking ahead, biting the inside of my cheeks as I realized I had indeed smiled.
Chapter-12AVYANNA'S POV"So? Who's going to tell me what exactly happened?" Evander asked us as we sat on the ground on our knees with our hands behind our heads, making me groan in pain.I don't know what kind of rule was this or was it a way to punish us for damaging school properties as it was practically making me feel like I was some kind of criminal who was being arrested by a cop."Mr. Sterling, you have known us for so long. You know we are not the ones to create trouble or do anything that will disturb the decorum of the school. Do you think we will pull something on a new girl when we don’t have any idea who she is or where she belongs from? Do you think we are troublemakers like that? You know we are not like those bullies who rag new students," Melinda started, and I saw Evander looking at her without an expression on his face before he turned to look at me as if waiting for my explanation."I don’t want to say anything apart from the truth, and that is, I didn't do it,"
AVYANNA'S POV"Mmm...mmph..." I grumbled with great efforts as Evander was practically pressing my face into his chest, making me unable to breathe or speak."Damn it, Avyanna. How can you be like this? You have no idea how scared I was when Alex told me you were fighting with those girls. Do you have to be so reckless? It's been so long since I cared for someone other than my family, and you are not making it easy for me. I want to protect you, Avyanna, but how am I supposed to do that when you are hell-bent on finding trouble?" He asked me, the emotion in his words, making me pause my struggling.Did I scare him that much for him to react like this? Was he so concerned for me that he couldn’t control his emotions and actions? But how can this be possible? I haven’t even met him for more than 24 hours, and doesn’t he have a reputation of being a cold-hearted devil? Then again, he has not even once treated me with anything but care. Does he really care for me that much? I couldn’t he
Chapter-14 AVYANNA'S POV "What did I do?" I couldn't help but ask her as she looked at me closely before shrugging her shoulders. "Well, you know, your eyes just changed colors, and I thought you were going to attack me from behind," Cassandra said, smiling sheepishly at me, and I squinted my brows. "Why the hell will I attack you from behind? And wait. My eyes changed colors?" I couldn't help but ask, and she nodded her head. "Yeah, and it wasn't like some normal color I've seen on werewolves. It was a little bit violet, like those of witches," She said with confusion in her eyes, and I knitted my brows. "You must be seeing things. How can I change my eye color like that of a witch? Maybe it's because of the reflection from the window," I said, and she nodded her head before pushing the clothes in my hand and ushering me inside the locker room. “Now go and hurry up. I don’t want Mr. Sterling to glare at us because we are late. That guy is scary,” Cassandra said, and I nodded my
Chapter-15AVYANNA'S POV"Avyanna? Are you okay? Where are you looking?" Cassandra asked me, and I looked at her before pointing towards where that man was standing."Don't you find that guy over there suspicious? Behind that tree," I asked her, and she followed my gaze before knitting her brows."Which guy are you talking about, Avyanna? There is no one there," She said, and I looked at her before looking back at the place."You are not looking properly. Can't you see the man standing over there wearing that weird mask?" I asked again, and she looked at me as if she was looking at some dumb person."Seriously, Avyanna. If you are trying to pull some kind of joke or prank, then let me tell you, it isn't funny. Stop being childish, and get your ass down here. Let me enjoy the game. It's not every day that I have someone I can share my excitement with," She said, a sad look flashing through her eyes, and I sighed before biting my lips as I sat beside her.Looking around, not really know
AVYANNA’S POVShit! What should I say to him? Should I deny it and say I don't know what he was talking about, or should I ask him how he knows about that? If I ask him how he knows that, then won’t I be agreeing to the matter and indirectly telling him that he was right? That my mood indeed changes the environment around me? What if he is just testing me? But what if he indeed knows something about it and can help me find out why I am like this in the first place? Then again, can I really trust a person I have met for the first time? I mean, though he looks decent, wasn’t he staring at me like a stalker earlier? Not to mention how he wasn’t even visible to anyone else apart from me. What if he has some kind of powers to make me feel relaxed around him, and is actually here to harm me or spy on me?“You. What are you talking about? What change in the environment? I am a normal werewolf -” I started, stopping when he started speaking.“Seriously? Are you going to deny things just lik
Chapter-17AVYANNA'S POV"Get me down this instant!" I shouted angrily when I couldn't get down, no matter how many times I tried to jump.'Avyanna, don't get angry. They are just playing with you,' My wolf started, and I couldn't help but scoff.'They are playing with me? I get that. But is this any way to play with me? Do you think I have so much patience? Well, you definitely chose the best day to play with me when my heart is already aching with what my mother did with me,' I said, feeling a little guilty immediately after I said that.'Avyanna, they are sorry. Don't get too angry,' My wolf said, and after what felt like an eternity, they finally put me down on the bed. After settling on the bed, I closed my eyes, wanting to calm myself down. Biting my lips, I sighed, feeling guilty, not knowing what to say.'I... I am sorry. I don't know why I got so annoyed. Maybe it's because I can't communicate with you guys myself, and I feel like I am going insane with all this talking insid
Chapter-18EVANDER'S POV"Apart from the fact that you messed with the girls from the Sinister pack, befriended the demon's daughter, rejected the friendship of the alpha of the Sinister pack, and met with your childhood friend who turned out to be the council head's son, how was your day?" I asked her when she didn't say anything for a good ten minutes. "I don't know. It was okayish, I guess? So many things happened in a single day that the general view of the school left my mind long ago. Honestly, I didn’t expect my first day of school to be like this either," She answered me casually before going back to devouring the food like it was the best thing in the world, and I couldn't help as my lips curved slightly. From the way she was eating without looking anywhere or minding her manners, it was obvious that she was a foodie, and I kind of liked it. There was something about the way she was enjoying her food that improved my appetite, making the food look tastier than usual. The fo
Chapter-19AVYANNA'S POV"Dang, the girl has guts. Don't you think so?" I heard Cassandra from beside me, and I looked up to see what she was talking about, squinting my brows when I noticed the scene in front of me."I don't see what you are talking about. Does doing something like this need guts? I just find this behavior extremely repellent," I said, going back to doodling.I wasn't fazed by what was happening around me earlier, but now that I have seen it, it was hard for me to concentrate on anything else. How can a person be so shameless? After I was sure that no matter how much I try, I won’t be able to concentrate on my doodling, I looked up at Evander's helpless expression as he looked at the human girl in front of him, who was practically trying to shove her chest in his face."Poor him. Everyone in the supernatural species knows who he is and doesn't mess with him, but he can't be with these humans who are oblivious to his wrath and try their luck," Cassandra commented, a
Chapter-142After 7 months~~~~AVYANNA'S POV"Well, well, well, look at my beautiful sister. Aren't you looking like a devil in disguise?" Alcinder said, and I pouted before looking at Seth."Don't mind him. You look as beautiful as ever," Seth's eyes sparkled, and I smiled with gratitude. After his and my powers formed the bridge and merged with each other, Seth said he was more than content. According to him, when I saved his life by almost sacrificing my identity as a princess, his love already felt justified. "Seth, Alcinder, are you going to be her bridesmaid? I asked you to arrange girls!" Alina said, and I chuckled at their weirded-out expressions.Alina was Seth's girlfriend. She was the daughter of the witches of the Blood diamond Clan. They have been going out for a few months now, and to say I was amused by Seth's awkwardness that I felt through our powers would be an understatement. There were times when I used to burst out laughing in the middle of a meeting because of
Chapter-141AVYANNA'S POV"Evander?" I blinked softly."I am here, Sweetheart," I closed my eyes again as darkness consumed me.~~~"What's going on? I don't understand it,""I wish I could answer you, son, but I have no idea. Something like this hasn't happened in the past century. Where did she learn all this information from? Since we have no idea how this was conducted, and what kind of spells she used, we don't know what we are after," "I understand what you are saying, but is there no one else who can help us?""Maybe Seth can, but as you know -" "It's a pity. She tried such a powerful incantation, and couldn't -"The last sentence caught my attention. My head was pounding like someone was hammering something in my brain. What was happening around me? Was I hearing voices, or was someone really talking?"Avyanna, Avyanna. Dad, her heartbeat has quickened its pace. I think she is gaining consciousness," it was definitely Evander's voice."Ev-Evander," I murmured softly, my thr
Chapter-140Third Person's POVTo say Avyanna was angry and dangerous would be an understatement. She was lethal. With her growls as loud as thunderclaps of a stormy night, with the speed of light, she rushed to Evander, and before Dante could even touch Evander, she held his dagger, stopping him inches away from Evander. "I was caught off-guard once, but not again," Avyanna said before she looked at Trevor with disgust."I really tried my best to not take away the only family member you have," Avyanna said before she kicked Evander away, making him land a few meters away as the blade of the dagger dug deeper into her skin.Quickly standing, Evander looked at Avyanna holding Dante's dagger in her hand, which was drawing blood now."Leave it," Dante seethed through his gritted teeth, and Avyanna laughed darkly."I won't. Let's end this quickly and cleanly. I was trying to repay Trevor for his goodwill, but it's good for good and bad for bad. You hurt the one person that was like my cl
Chapter-139AVYANNA'S POV"Nervous?" Evander asked me, and I looked at him before humming."Don't worry. Just remember, no matter what the outcome is, I will always be there for you. I will protect you with my life," Evander smiled before he sat on his knees and kissed my abdomen, making my heart melt."Are we ready to go?" Dad appeared out of nowhere, and I nodded before looking at Evander, who rolled his eyes and stood straight. After a two-hour drive, Evander parked our car one kilometer away from the Carnival. "I am sure he would already know I have arrived because they can feel my energy. So it would be useless to stop this far. You guys come slowly from different paths since we can't reveal all our presences at the same time," I looked at Seth and Kyle, who nodded their heads at me.Taking the weapon, I hide it inside my top on my back, under the jacket. It was good Dad Enzo built a scabbard for this weapon so that I could hide it without getting hurt myself. "Let's go," Evan
Chapter-138AVYANNA'S POV"Are you tired?" Alcinder whispered in my ears, and I smiled at him awkwardly."A little bit," I sighed before smiling at another person who brought a gift to congratulate me on becoming the luna of the Enceladus pack. It's been exactly five hours since this process started, and I am standing on this podium. Even my jaws were aching from all the smiles I was doing. It was like filling the quota for the whole year. Now don’t get me wrong. I was grateful to every person coming here to congratulate me, but I was a little overwhelmed. This session could have been divided into sections, no?"Welcome to the family, Luna Avyanna. We hope you can look after us as our mother," One of the old ladies said, and I bit the inside of my cheeks to keep myself from laughing out loud. The old lady was probably 80-90 years old, and she expected me to act as a mother. Why don't you act like my grandmother? I sighed, and Erryn glared at me in my mind. From the moment we have comp
Chapter-137THIRD PERSON'S POV"Trevor," King Dante said, making Trevor pause in his steps."What is it, Dante?" Trevor asked."Where have you been these days, Trevor? I feel like you are never home. Always hopping here and there. Is something wrong? Or is there something going on that I have no idea about?" Dante leaned back in his chair, and Trevor's smile faltered for a second. Thankfully, Dante wasn't looking at him and at the file in his hand, or he would've immediately found out."There's nothing like that, brother. You know what kind of scenario we are going through. If things got worse, we might actually need to fight those dogs and old ladies with the wands. I am just trying to alert all the demons and train them for the worst," Trevor smiled, and Dante raised his brows before closing the file."Yeah? Is that why you have been visiting the Enceladus pack behind my back?" Dante asked, and Trevor smiled."Knowing your enemy's moves is equally important while preparing yours. I
Chapter-136AVYANNA'S POV"Is it over?" That's the first thing that came to my mind as I started to gain consciousness. To say the shift was painful would be an understatement. It was like a nightmare. It was so painful that I don't even remember when I lost consciousness. The last thing I remember is yelling at Erryn."Avyanna, do you feel it? My powers?" Erryn asked me, and I looked around, confused. I felt like I was in some kind of space. It wasn't terrifying or dark but familiar. Wait. Was it in my mind space? Does that mean -? I looked around more clearly before I saw I was standing on my paws rather than my legs. My white paws that looked like a dog's, I mean Wolf's. Erryn was in control of my body. And maybe that's why I was forced into the back of my mind. Honestly, it felt a little weird to be conscious and not be able to move your body of your accord. Is this how Erryn felt for 18 years? 'We should let Cyrus know about this,' I suggested, and Erryn raised her head before
Chapter-135AVYANNA'S POV"Are you guys done talking?" Evander asked, and I hummed before smiling at Trevor, who nodded back."I have told you my plans. I hope you guys get a way around it," Trevor said before disappearing, and I plopped on the couch near Evander with a tired sigh, heat rushing to my head again because of using those flames. "What did you tell him to act like that? He almost looked wary of something," Kyle asked me, and I shrugged."I didn't do anything. Just told him to not double cross us, or I won't think twice before wiping their whole species from this earth," I smiled, and Kyle raised his brows before nodding."Good job. Even if we can't do it, we can at least show we are not someone to be truffled with," Kyle's words made everyone nod."That was the whole point of it. Evander, we should connect with other species and let them know what is happening here. In the worst-case scenario, we would know who is on our side, and we can count on them," I looked at Evande
Chapter-134AVYANNA'S POVSeeing the pack members training so hard, I smiled. As if Evander felt my presence, he paused in his actions before he raised his head in the air, sniffing the air, making me chuckle inside my head. This is so wolfish. "Evander," I said, and he turned to me with wide eyes before he appeared right in front of me in a second."Avyanna," He didn't give me a moment to say anything, pulling me in for a hug, and I sighed, hugging him tightly, missing his touch and his chest drumming against mine. "What the hell? Is this why you called Alcinder and Seth and kept a secret from me? F*ck, you smell divine," he growled in my ears, and without giving me any explanation, he dug his teeth into my neck, making me gasp and widen my eyes."Evander," I whispered, clenching my eyes shut to stop the moan that was itching to escape my lips, knowing all too well everyone was watching us. However, it looked like Evander had no control over Cyrus right now."Damn it. You are not
