Hope

Indrik

Message or not, I decided that my thoughts were going to drive me crazy if I didn't snap out of them so I did just that. I pushed away from the window and got out of bed. Looking around the slowly lightening room, I was rather disappointed to find that Luna was not in the room. I had been hoping to be able to have a word or two with her. I decided I couldn't wait and made my way to her room only to get the same result. The unmade state of her bed hinted that she had left the room in a hurry, (what else was new?) which meant I couldn't expect to see her for a while.

I paced around for a while, the memories still haunting me until I finally got the ingenious idea to go to an old friend of mine. Now, when I mention friend, you might think I am referring to a childhood friend that I had forgotten about but no, I can count the number of friends I have on a single hand. By friend, I meant the library, one of the many places I used to visit in a bid to both lose and discover myself in old pages. Perhaps I should also mention that it was one of the few places that never turned me away. In there, I could delve into books about martial arts and pretend that I was actually practicing them. I craved that kind of escape right now.

The library was located close to the palace gates amidst a cluster of other buildings which it managed to tower over. Like the other buildings, it was white as well but getting in, I was hit by the smell of old books which I had grown to love. I headed straight to the martial arts section which wasn't hard considering that I knew that side of the library by heart. Ask me about the history section, or the animal section, even the "how to be a werewolf section," and I wouldn't be able to tell you a single thing. But ask me about any book on the entire martial arts section and I would tell you everything about it. When it was written, who the author was, whether known or unknown, why it was written, in what form it was written, anything.

I stopped by the librarian's and made some small talk with him. Librarians had this kind of thing that they did where they cheerfully engaged in conversations with whoever would care to listen. Well, I guess it could get kind of lonely if you had no company except books who just happened to not be capable of conversations. You should definitely be friends with a librarian though. They usually have a storehouse of knowledge to bestow. And by that, I mean those that actually read. The storehouse and the fact that they can tell you which new book just came in as well as the books to avoid. Today, I decided I didn't want a new book as I made a beeline for my favourite book in my favorite section. "Now That You Are A Warrior!" Now, I don't think I need to elaborate about why I love the book, I mean, with the title and all. The first time I had seen the book, I had leapt at it which was ironic because technically, I wasn't a warrior but like I said, this place helped me to be everything I could not be out there, even if it was nothing more than pretense.

Today, I picked up the book and walked over to my favorite perch, the table that sat to the far end of the room. I loved it because it helped me to stay out of sight as well as avoid distractions.

Like I had hoped, the endless supply of wisdom that the book had to offer quickly overshadowed the vague message of the dream. I became so engrossed in the book that I didn't realize I had company until I felt a hand on my shoulder. Startled, I had turned my head around so fast that I had both fallen back and almost off the table and started out a dull ache in my neck. I had reacted in that way because I was afraid that Leon had come to haunt me again. He had visited me in this library once and it had not ended well. You are probably thinking of how rude he must be to have attacked his sweet brother in a place full of books advising against that very act but Leon is a brute that way.

Rather than Leon though, I came face to face with someone who though would not bash my face in, still managed to make me extremely nervous for different reasons entirely. Beta Green.

"Beta Green." I leapt to my feet, bowing excitedly.

He nodded, his eyes distant even though he had them fixed on me. "What are you doing here?" His voice also maintained the distant quality.

"I was reading this." I picked up the book and flaunted it. He nodded then started to walk away. Dynamites exploded in my belly as I hurried after him. "Uhm! Beta Green. I have been wanting to speak to you."

"What about?" He asked without stopping.

I paused, wondering how I was supposed to put what I was about to say next. I decided to put it out in whatever way since the Beta was obviously not willing to wait for me to wrap up my words in a delectable manner.

"Uhm! It's about my wolf. After the last uhm... incident, my wolf has now been freed." I paused hoping that he would tell me to come meet him tomorrow but he simply continued to walk forcing me to run after him again. "I was hoping that I could start training?"

I had been hoping he would stop but when he finally did, I almost wished that he would continue walking.
